Alright, they have been driving me crazy for awhile now. I originally found them because Julia is a chronic YHL commenter (aren't they all) and she drew me in when they did their fauxdenza and black wainscoting wall. Overall I like her style, but lately I've got a few issues:

1) those black butterflies in Greta's room look like bats. sorryimnotsorry

2) I hate how her new butcher block countertops (which I really like) are going down the side of her cabinet. It just looks bad.

3) the new fan they just put in yesterday- it's fug.

4) I love the fauxdenza and I think it looks great, but those air vents underneath are killing it for me…

For the most part I like them.. but the commenting on YHL is so annoying.

I think the main thing is Greta's room only has a bed in it. THATS IT. No toybox, no nightstand, no dresser, nothing. And they're so freaking proud of this room they "decorated" for her. It has a bed in it. That isn't a finished room. I don't care what they say.

Thanks for pointing them out. I just started following her husband's blog. I love to cook & it looks like it will be pretty interesting.

This blog is a daily read for me and for the most part… I like them.  I like that they do their own thing and don't follow all of the trends in blogland.

But… I agree with the black butterflies.  I think they look like bats, too.

I also don't like the wood going down the side of the countertop.  I guess they did it to make it look more modern.

They seem to be moving along from one big project to the next.  They just did the kitchen and now they're moving on to the master bedroom and bathroom.  I'm interested to see what they do with those rooms.

I have yet to dump CLJ off my reader but I'm close.

IMO, Julia is by far the biggest attention w***e in blogland.  I liked the wall they did in their formal living room and showed my husband a photo she posted on IG.  He flipped through just a handful of her photos and said the exact same thing.  The stuff she does is just okay, not much of it is original to them – although I will give them points for doing a better "big girl room" than YHL.

My biggest beef though is that she is constantly posting on every other popular blog and blogger IG photo.  Most of the time with links back to her blog. It would be okay to see an occasional comment but it's pretty much an every day occurrence, made even worse by the fact that YHL was doing a big girl room at the same time she was doing Greta's.  The girl needs to dial it back big time, if she did I may be able to stomach her in very small "one post a day" doses.

I generally like this blog. Although I do agree that the name is cheesy.

Yes she comments on everything, but that doesn't change the content of the blog which I think is pretty good.

I like that their stuff is a different…they don't do every little blog trend thats out there right now. Sure they do a lot of grey, but you can tell that she is trying to mix it up, like not doing grey for the big girl room, and the blue cabinets. I also think the kitchen is coming along really well.

Yes the black butterflies are not my favorite…she should have gone with like hot pink or something. She also addressed the furniture thing about the little girl having sleep troubles and it helps not having anything else in the room. So thats whatever to me. It looks nice, even if it looks a little too grown up for a 3 year old.

I do like the color of the cabinets! I think that's why the butcher block down the side is bugging me because up until then I thought everything looked great! Love the two-tone cabinets, black pantry door, lighting, RH hardware, etc.

I like the butcher block on the side of the cabinet – a waterfall edge. It's trendy but I like the look.

I like the projects they do, but I swear they're worse than Katie Bower with the sponsored (free) items. I bet that kitchen has cost them nothing but paint.

I hate the black butterflies as well, but for me it is an issue of practicality.  I remember some blogger (maybe Dooce?) did something similar in a nursery of theirs and the kid ripped the things off immediately and damaged the wall.  Maybe Greta is different (considering the pink paint spill incident I think not), but when I was little I loved playing with (and thus destroying) things I wasn't suppose to touch.  I wonder how many times they've had to repair that wall so far…

I also hate all of Julia's "art" and their general style seems so one note and boring.

I do like the butcher block counters, new couch and the new ceiling fan.  Chris' food always looks good as well.

I think they may have finally hit on their style. For a while the pattern was buy something, over-explain why it works(when often readers could see it didn't), three months later, replace it with something else, justify new purchase. I always wonder why anyone would buy a mood board from someone who couldn't get their own home right!? Also, while Julia is a talented artist, I think she is too pushy when trying to sell her art. Overall though, I think they offer some good ideas for decorating and remodeling. I'm not interested in the parenting/entertaining stuff they post.

Liked today's post- I like it when bloggers can get better because they listen to criticism.

I added Julia loves Chris to my reader when she introduced it last week and wow, I like him and his writing style a lot.  Maybe it's because he's newer to the game and has yet to take a full on blogger personality.  Either way, he is totally SOMI, she is bordeline GOMI.
