i'm happy someone else noticed the cojita/cotija thing. I googled it when I saw her typo, thinking I must have been crazy… surely someone using this blog as their JOB would be on that. (AND ISN'T IT ON THE PACKAGE THAT YOU MUST BE STARING AT FOR HOURS?!)

HSE is a love/hate read for me, but I really get mad for her when I see HBH. I follow HSE on IG and she posted a snapshot of a recipe she was working on (to be on the blog later) and not a day or two later did HBH post a recipe that looked exactly like HSE instagram photo… that HSE hadn't even had a chance to post yet! I know she does her own irritating things, but seriously?! Somebody go to Colorado and slap that girl! GAH!

And she's awfully whiney for a 20-something.

The salad with chicken, right?

I get the feeling her family is loaded.  It seems as if the kids are able to parlay their hobbies into a career on their parent's dime.  Twenty-something brothers snowboarding all day – HBH pops up out of nowhere with a $$$ designed blog and now gets this massive, modern barn on the property of the family's new house which she can design on her own with a dream kitchen.  Also, I think they have several houses.

And she probably gets her recipes off of allrecipes.com or something.

She can't even write a f**king "About" section without plagiarizing How Sweet Eats.

From How Sweet Eats: "You will find all sorts of things – from healthy recipes to comfort food and indulgent desserts."

From Half Baked Harvest: "You will find a mix of healthy recipes, cozy comfort food, sometimes over the top foods + indulgent desserts."

I kind of want to anonymously ask HSE why she doesn't acknolwedge this, but then I'm all like WHY THE f**k ARE YOU SO INVESTED?! Ugh.

A friend just summed up HBH perfectly.  Take someone else's idea, but make it more complicated with like 10 to 15 more ingredients.  Yesterday she posted a recipe for rice krispie treat pancakes. She said she initially wanted to do a rice krispie treat milk shake, but then How Sweet Eats posted one, insinuating she came up with the idea first.  But the rice krispie treat shake was created a while ago, by Jack in the Box.

I love how she acts like she can't post something because How Sweet Eats posted a similar idea first. Honey, that has never stopped you before.

Blogs like HBH or Sally's Addiction… popping up from nothingness and garnering massive success within a year (25k followers on instagram, 50,000 page views a day, etc)– how much are these blogs actually earning? Anyone have any stats/numbers? $25k a year? $50k a year? $100k?

Prob closer to the 100k mark when you think not only about the page views, but whatever stuff they are getting commissioned to do because they are "experts." Above 100k if you count all the free shit they are given.

Kinda makes you want to start a blog! But trying not to drink the koolaid.

I 100% blame Pinterest for her fame. She is all over that site, and I never see How Sweet It Is pins. She's so young, and I hate the whole, "I've been cooking since I was 13" attitude. How old are you? At most 20. Okay, then don't consider yourself as a professional. It's like when children say, "When I was a kid…" Drives me nuts.

Plus, Buzzfeed puts her on almost every food list, sometimes 2 to 4 different dishes in one list. A blogger pal has been on a Buzzfeed Food list twice, and both times the traffic was so crazy, her small site crashed.  So, with Buzzfeed Food almost daily — plus Pinterest, plus online media/sponsors (and her job as a contributor to some of them), plus links and more pins galore from high traffic blogger friends, plus all the photo sites like foodgawker and tastespotting, and hits from all the comments she leaves on every single high traffic food blog, I can't even fathom how many page views she gets and how much money she's making.  No doubt it's an insane amount.  Like Sally's Baking Addiction, in less than a year probably close to or already six figures.

This makes me hate the world and want to stop blogging. Seriously, I know it's not really a competition, but it's so discouraging to work hard at something and have (IMO) a good product and then see…this…become the hot new popular thing.
