I am watching her thanksgiving episode. That cornbread stuffing looks so dry and gross it's making me want to drink my jug of water while watching it. Also two packages of cream cheese and how many sticks of butter in just two small cans of potatoes. Yuck and my the only one who hates the consistency of reheated potatoes. She made these ahead of time with them in the fridge and then will just reheat on Thanksgiving. I'm all for working ahead but I just don't know how my family would like reheated potatoes on Thanksgiving.

CANS of potatoes?! She's using canned potatoes, really? I wasn't even aware that potatoes come in cans. What is so hard about using real potatoes? I'm just . . . gob-smacked.

Ha! I think it speaks to her reputation (in my mind, at least) that I fully believed she was using canned potatoes. smile

Lol, I keep laughing because I could see her using canned potatoes too. Maybe Siri knows more than we think since it is the one who changed my pan to can. lmao

Try Bobby Flay's recipe for maple glazed turkey. The pan drippings make gravy that is to die for.

Last year my SIL brought a PW recipe for cranberry sauce to my house for Thanksgiving.

It had maple syrup and was nasty. It never gelled and was liquidy and soupy. No one ate it. I was pissed because it was turkey day and I wanted real cranberry sauce! Canned would've been better than that!

Just curious – did her sister Betsy get divorced? I haven't seen any mention of her husband in a long time.

Does anyone watch her on Food Network? I was forced to over the Holidays with family who just 'loves her!'. UGH her clothing. I just couldn't get past it. What is up with these patterned ill fitting tops with 3/4 quarter length bell sleeves?? How can you cook with your sleeves dragging in everything. I was afraid she would catch fire at one point when she was reaching over a pan of hot oil and her sleeve almost drug right through!scared

I spent the night with my mom last night (she is sick) and caught an episode. I was thinking the same thing, "why don't you have on an apron?" Not that I wear an apron when cooking but she had on a long, flowing, light colored shirt with sleeves making a chicken with marinara dish. I just kept thinking about all the splatters she was probably getting on her shirt. She was also bigger than I thought, although maybe that is just tv. And, man did her husband seem like he could care less about being on tv.

I never check her site, but I follow her on Facebook, and I saw she posted about a slow cooker chicken tortilla soup recipe.  I made it, and so did two of my friends and we all thought it lacked something.  I know a lot of her recipes are like that, but this was super bad.  Like, none of us can pin down what it's missing.  It's weird.

I made it too and it wasn't good at all. So sad because that day chicken tortilla soup sounded so good!

It was such a bummer!  I felt like I had to redeem my life and make a better version, so I made this last night, and it is perfect:
