^^ How exciting for her kids – camping in their own backyard! rolleyes

I can see the convenience in it, but why not take them to one of the many beautiful parks in CA for an overnight activity? They're spoilt for choice!

Does anyone have more information on Opus Dei. I'm Catholic but have had zero exposure to them – save for the mentions through Kendra's blog.

I think it's very interesting that it is not easy to get information on Opus Dei.  I remember Kendra trying to make light of that, but if it's supposedly just a benign organization to help strengthen Catholics' faith, why the secrecy?  Why do you have to have an "in" to get involved?

Because they are making sure the right kind of Catholics join, is the *least* worrisome answer.

Opus Dei in SoCal- it is pretty easy to figure out when the monthly 'evenings of recollections' are- basically a talk and opportunity for confession- they are open to all…. but maybe Kendra is 'elite' and does more with them? idontknow

I don't know much about it, either. I know people involved and they are super conservative and have large families. I got the impression it was a lay group and you can be as involved or not involved as life allowed.

Oh goody, Kendra has broken radio silence and posted news from Gramblewood (insert sarcasm here)

Among her ramblings and musings on how wonderful it is to live in a house under construction, is her tidbit that one of the most fab things is no toys around to pick up.

She then says she would be extremely happy to just donate all the packed up toys to St V deP, but that hubby thinks children should have a few toys — "But, fortunately for the kids, their father is the kind of person who believes that children should be allowed to have some toys. IN the house…"

She then ominously writes — "So . . . we'll see."

If I didn't think she was a beyotch before, I do now. She's going to get rid of the kids' toys, wait and see.

Also I think she's stopped homeschooling for the duration of the construction as she says the children are literally outside all day as there is nothing to do in the house.

Well, remember she's the most perfect homeschooling mom so her kids are brilliant and could easily be done for the year while she focuses on her mansion.

I would be OK with her getting rid of the toys, if she would get rid of all her Anthropologie clothes.

ha!

Actually, sounds like she will get rid of the toys and be OK without a dishwasher(s). If the kids can't play, they can wash dishes!
