Color me not surprised. From her posts, I get the sense that she's in one of those religious communities that values being sweet and coming across as oh-so-happy and super-friendly as a sign of God's goodness.  Not being or seeming nice and happy all the damn time is interpreted as an insult to God, a sign of bitterness, or not being blessed.  Some of the people with this mindset and approach to how people, especially women and dependent children, are supposed to act are highly involved in promoting anti-LGBTQA policies.  Think about the Duggars and their political endeavors, from Josh being part of the FRC to Michelle's robo-calls to the politicians they endorse.  Think about Randy Wilson, the father of the Purity Ball movement, and his leadership in the FRC and WotW.  His daughters have a "charm school" type of program that promotes that being sweet and expressing happiness are the only acceptable ways for a girl or woman to act (except sadness at appropriate times, like a death in the family).  I've read AO texts used in public schools that instruct that girls are naturally sweet and prefer to be happy over all other emotions, while these same texts denigrate and erase any sexual identity outside of cisgendered heterosexuality.  Danny Peyton (I may spelled his name wrong) of Silver Ring Thing teaches that homosexuality is a sin, as is premarital sex and has stated that he started his AO program to use in public schools (and has gotten thousands and thousands of federal and state $$ to bring his program into public schools around the country) to convert the non-church minded and bring sexual sinners to Jesus.

No surprise here.

(Sorry- AO= abstinence only sex ed)

I mean – it's one thing to teach that homosexuality is a sin or to be against legalizing same-sex marriage (neither viewpoint do I agree with, for the record) but I feel like it's a whole new level of crazy to willingly pay money to support a man calling for gay people to be -put to death-.

I'm sure if she was asked, she would say something about that having nothing to do with it, she's just interested in protecting religious liberties, etc, but nope, sorry Olivia. You just put your money into the pocket of a man who thinks every tenth person or so should be put to death.

Now she's attending sermons given by this lovely man: Rev. Joseph Morecraft…who believes in radical enforcement of bibilical law, including forcing nonbelievers into slavery. He was recently removed from his position as leader of his Presbyterian congregation over what appear to have been disagreements in doctrine.

I find it somewhat alarming that all of a sudden Olivia has taken such an interest in these radical fundamentalist leaders…

I just don't "get" the whole concealed carry every day thing.  She was talking about wearing her holster to New Year's parties?  Is that a fundie thing specifically?  confused

I don't think so.
And I don't see the point. Many of these women brag about being stay at home daughters.
I have my CCL and would never carry to a party or anywhere there is alcohol (probably not a worry at a fundie party). I also don't… OMG I got muh holster on!!!
I do give the side-eye to it being homemade and her carrying to a PARTY (around a lot of people) before she tested the holster. That is stupid.
CC holsters cost less than one of her darn denim skirts.

Just discovered Fresh Modesty thanks to GOMI and I have outfit critiques.

From her NYE outfit post, that sequin cardigan is cute but combining all those different colors (burgundy tank, navy long sleeve tee, gold sequins, navy skirt, brown boots, black belt) are distracting.

My improvements: wear a black turtleneck underneath the cardigan, midi gray skirt, black tights (fleece lined if it's that cold), ankle boots.

Looking through her posts, her outfits are pretty cute and just have some minor quibbles.

She was "So very blessed" to attend this….

"and over 8 hours of incredible speakers."

Yes, because calling for the death of innocent people just because you don't agree with their lifestyle is just SO incredible.finger

And would someone please send this idiot to a CCW class!

http://freshmodesty.blogspot.com/2016/02/10-packing-tips-for-frequent-traveling.html

Just because you have a CCL in one state does NOT mean you can freely travel across state lines with your firearm!
And you are NOT supposed to carry "Extra mags for my gun" willy nilly in a damn purse!
Depending on what state you're in, that is also illegal!

This is the most basic gun safety.
And she very obviously does not know or practice it!angry

Very small town in Tennessee.

She so preachy about everything else.
Yet shows absolute immaturity when it comes to something as series as Concealed Carry and firearms.
When you start posting on social media about carrying a gun, I truly believe a serious responsibility comes with that.

Her total lack of basic gun safety is beyond dangerous.

"November 21st, 2015 an acquaintance I had always admired messaged me on Facebook with a photography question. Shocked and confused that this guy who I knew for a fact was very intentional about NOT flirting with girls was talking to me so casually, I answered his question politely and expected he'd end the messaging after some light chit-chat. But that didn't happen, and now 172 days later, we are pledged to be married. :)"

droolrolleyesuh

Pledging to spend the rest of your life with someone you've know for 172 days is totally the basis of a healthy relationship.

WKing for a second. My husband and I knew each other for a grand total of 5 weeks before we got married. 12 years later, we're still going strong. Of course, it seems a little more creepy when she phrases it like she does.

Yeah, but I'm sure you were able to be alone with him and GASP…hold hands!

I'm not slamming regular people who get married in a short amount of time.

Im talking about fundie courtships, they do not form solid foundations for marriage.
I've noticed that in the courtships where hand holding is allowed, they push to have the wedding ASAP.
That speaks volumes about the so called purity aspect of courtships.
