GILMORE GIRLS!

Love:

Lorelai. Although there were plenty of moments when I felt certain she was a selfish, rude b***h (yes, I went there) I always loved her. She's hilarious, mouthy and an inner softy. I hated her relationship with Max (gross, times a million) and loved her and Luke. Chris was a douchey douche and didn't deserve her. I read somewhere that Lauren Graham only got along with the actor who played Chris and that was why he was around so much — but that's obviously a rumour.

Rory/Jess. I maintain they were endgame. ASP really f**ked up by trying to make the spin-off happen and then Milo moved on too much for them to bring him back. He GOT her — he loved books, they had wicked chemistry, he challenged her and he actually cared about her. He didn't just treat her like an accessory (ahem, Logan) or an unattainable Princess (Dean).

I also can't believe that he was the only one of her boyfriends that she didn't have sex with. I mean, their chemistry was ridiculous.

That kiss… wow.

Lane. I loved Lane. But they ruined her with the Zack thing. She was so good with Dave (Adam Brody).

The jokes.

Stars Hollow. I want to live there.

Richard and Emily.

(and to the OP who pointed out that Logan was just Tristian, YES YES YES and I can't believe that Rory never saw the connection! She was so dismissive about Tristian and treated him like he was just a jerky rich boy and then she ends up with Logan, who was even smuggier.)

I took out some of the gifs (all were amazing) for spacial reasons…but for favoritism reasons, I could not remove the last one. Haha. I often got called Rory in college because I was always running around a party with a book in my purse. People would leave me alone for two minutes, and I'd start reading. I've actually had a moment like the gif above before. And end ramble!

I've heard that Lauren Graham is a pleasure to work with, so I find it surprising that you said that she "only got along with the actor who played Chris". Maybe I read it differently than you intended–but it reads as if he were the only actor on set that she got along with.

I didn't hate Chris. I hated that they (Lorelai and Chris) didn't realize why they were wrong for each other. I feel like Lorelai has trouble with finding closure and that's why their relationship was revisited so often. We saw it with Max too, I mean she couldn't keep her lips off of him when they ran into each other during Rory's senior year. I think the writers took it too far by having her marry Chris.

Sorry I meant to say that I heard Lauren Graham did not get along with Scott Patterson, that's all. sani_elephantdance

ahaha the gifs!

I loved Lorelai even when it killed me what a b***h she'd be to Sookie or her own mother.  And it never failed to crack me up how carefully crafted was the Emily/Lorelai dynamic, I believe for all their differences that they are one in the same!

My favorite show ever! I still watch it all the time. Like daily.

I Loved Tristan! I wish CMM wouldn't have left to be on One Tree Hill. :( I hated Logan though. I think that I always thought he was a dumber, douchier, knock off version of Tristan like you guys did. Dean was an idiot and Jess was a close second favorite for Rory.

I liked Lorelai with Chris though. chairIDK there's something I loved about Rory having her parents together. I hated Sherry so much.  Lorelai's whole Max thing just creeped me out.

I liked Lane with Dave so much more than Zach. Ugh. Gross.

I loved and hated Emily at the same time. I loved Richard so hard though.

I've heard that too. And, I *think* I remember hearing that when she became a producer for season 7, she really pushed the Chris storyline, because she felt like that tension was needed in the Luke/Lorelai relationship.

Nooooooooooooooo. This has ruined my life. I don't know if I can continue watching the Luke/Lorelai love story knowing that they hate one another.

I'm going to pretend this is a media ruse to hide their true secret love.

this may be a leeetle off topic, but has anyone else read Lauren Graham's novel? Someday, Someday, Maybe?

I found it enjoyable, and normally I give actor authors a pretty big side eye.

I have that on hold at the library! It's received pretty good reviews.

Judging from this article, http://blog.zap2it.com/pop2it/2011/06/is-gilmore-girls-star-scott-patterson-horrible-to-work-with-amy-pietz-says-yes.html – it was Scott Patterson who was the problem. SADNESS.

Did it bug anyone else how the door to the kitchen lead to the wrong side of the house?

Like, when you walk into the house you turn left to go to the kitchen. The door is at the back of the kitchen. It should open into the backyard. In the living room, there is a door that would lead you out to the portion of the deck where the washer/dryer, table are…. but when they leave the kitchen they end up on that portion of the deck.. does that make any sense?
