So the nacho story goes something like this,

Meri and Kody were newlywed a and along was new to the AUB (originally they were just regular Mormons or LDS) and he had met Christine at the church, (At this point he met Jenelle once or twice too) because Christine and her family were so well known in the church and she had a lot of friends she was always in their circle. He had apparently a sixth sense that their destinies were interlaced, his words from the book. Eventually Christine and Meri became friends and Amish was noticing that Christine had a thing for him, apparently Meri had inedvertedly told him she wasn't prepared to court Christine.

A year after they all met Kody organized a youth group to visit his family in Wyoming, Christine was in the group andfuring the road trio they made a rest stop.
Here is a quote from the book from Kody
"“When we set out on our road trip, I was convinced that Christine was the cutest girl in the world, although she was a little chubby. Back then, I was young and superficial enough to care about physical appearances. After we’d been on the road all night, we stopped at a gas station. I’d been drinking soda pop to stay awake and my stomach felt sour and upset. Just thinking about food made me queasy.
Christine went into the Quickie Mart and bought herself what seemed looked like the largest portion of chili cheese nachos that I’d ever seen. The sight of those nachos turned my stomach. I couldn’t watch her eat them. She must have been starving, because she was eating so quickly, and there was chili sauce and nacho cheese everywhere.
Looking back, I hate myself for the thoughts I had at that moment, but the sight of this chubby girl in my car devouring chili cheese nachos for breakfast put the brakes on our relationship. It brought out the most superficial and shallowest side of me. I still liked her—in fact, I liked her very much—but the nacho experience cooled my attraction a little[…]”

Now fast forward to 2012 and the Natelie Morales interview (2nd one not the first one from '10-'11) Morales asked Kody if size mattered so much to him that he was grossed out by a chubby girl eating chile cheese nachos, Kody replied "I will be honest I was not attracted to Christine in…any kind of physical sense. I mean I look back and in retrospect and wonder was that fair. But I can't even look there because we have children together…we have a relationship and we found our sweet spot…"
Then Natalie said " so you weren't attracted to Christine physically ?" And Kody said " That's an understatement" Morales asked. "I won't say that…but the nachos grossed me out enough to make me go OK, I'm waiting to marry her…"

Then Naralie asked Christine how it felt to hear that and she said it hurt and it is horrible. Kody said he was just being honest.

Oh my God! Why on earth would he say that?! There's nothing really wrong with feeling that way, but by talking about it so openly and crudely just shows how insensitive he is. I would be so hurt. And Christine is the prettiest wife of the bunch. Meri, Janelle and Robyn are no oil paintings, Kody.

Kody has also talked about finding Robyn unattractive when they first met, with Robyn sitting right next to him. He's so gross.

Just popping in to say, I watched this last night, and I don't get the attraction to this doucheburger? I mean, none of those women are red hot foxes themselves, but this guy is just gross.

Also, KODY (I hate that name with the fire of 100000000000 UTIs), if love should be multiplied, then why can't these women bring some brother husbands into your mix?

Ahhh I remember that. What a slime ball.

It's like TA telling Jenna that he didn't like her when she was fat.

I think it's natural to be more attracted to a physically fit person (note: I am by NO MEANS saying a skinny person, just a fit person) – but to SAY something like that – to tell your spouse "oh yeah, totally didn't like you when you were fat!" is SOOOO awful. You can encourage health and general well-being in your partner without insulting them!

I have never been able to put my hatred of the name Kody into words — especially Kody with a "K" — but you have just named the unnameable here.

And although I hate body snarking, I have always thought that Christine was the best looking of all FOUR wives!  She has a really pretty face.

Anyone watch last night? It wasn't the juiciest episode ever, but …

- How about Kody basically saying "I wish my wives would just obey me"?

- How about the wives making fun of Kody's hair?

- How about Robyn crying at least once in every single episode?

- How about Christine dropping various versions of "I'M sorry, but this family is failing" in every single episode?

- How about the teenagers' so-many-they-can't-be-counted eye rolls at their parents' shenanigans?

I'm currently catching up on this show and I have to say that this show has totally opened my eyes to how many people out there just need to live their lives outside of the norm and yet, I find this show so weird and disturbing on so many levels.

Love the episode of his brothers who are and aren't polygamist.  It gives a good perspective of how a family can accept regardless of the individual values.  I do wonder what other polygamist families think about this show though.  Reality TV does skew and twist/turn situations.

I don't understand what the heck religion they're following. The only "religious" thing they seem to do is partake in polygamy, and yet they don't even live in the same house because they can't get along in the kitchen. Other than than the polygamy, in what other way are they following any dogma?

Their kids all seem super nice and well-mannered. They've done a good job with them, from what I've watched anyways.

Lastly, poor Janelle. She seems so sad and miserable. I hope she succeeds with the weight loss and gets her groove back.

(And I just want to add, I would hate living in a polygamist family and always having to organize things as if I'm a teacher going on a field trip, and having to have family meetings and charts and annoying crap like that. Gah. No thanks.)

I know! She always looks so withdrawn, detached and miserable. I know she is a serious person but she honestly looks really depressed. And the fact that she didn't marry for love also makes me sad.

Although she is saddled with six kids, she has the most going for her of all the wives. She has a degree and supported the family financially for years. Sometimes I think it would be better for her to rejoin the LDS church and get the hell out of Kody World, but I don't think she has the confidence to do that. She also relies on Christine to do a lot of the nurturing SAHM type stuff with her kids, so that would be hard. It just seems like Janelle has contributed so much to the family and really hasn't gotten anything in return.

I like Christine, but Meri and Robyn are the absolute worst. drool

Also, can we talk about how financially irresponsible it is for these clowns to be buying four homes that all together cost around $2 million?! They have all individually filed for bankruptcy in the past and their only source of income is a moderate but fleeting paycheck from TLC. This will not end well, just like most other things this family plans.

I do not understand how they got approved for loans. Color me clueless, but I thought it was difficult to get approved for a loan nowadays, and it seems like buying in Vegas, where there is one of the highest foreclosure rates in the nation, would make it even more difficult.
