Hey — what happened to the Escape from Obesity thread?  Did Lyn's elderly husband get it taken down?confused

Let's get back to snarking!

I saw that Lyn mentioned yet another child health drama. She also threw in some new-agey stuff about an "energy imbalance" being to blame for her stress level. drool

In the comment section of her "changes" post, she talks about LOVING the taste of plain greens, and generally doesn't like the bacon bits, cheese etc. that often comes on a salad.

Yeah, right!! We all know she's totally the type of person to order a salad only to pick out the bacon bits, croutons and cheese and delude herself into thinking she ate a healthy meal.

Also, the hazelnut-crusted fish was probably a dieting disaster– nut crusted fish is usually fried (pan or deep fried) and loaded with calories and fat. Which is why it's so delicious.

What's with the vague references to her "lucrative career" that has enabled her to "afford" health insurance? She has posted many times about how lucky she is that she "doesn't have" to have a job.

Now she's lecturing people on how they, too, can get ahead?

This is a perfect example of why these bloggers are so insufferable. Same thing I have complained about with halfsizeme. Lyn should be giving out career advice the way halfsizeme should be selling a cure for eating disorders.

It's also bugging me that she's talking as though starting counseling is really turning her life around and everyone else should follow her example.

When, in reality: "I am number 20 on a 2-month-ish-long waiting list… but I am ON THE LIST and I cannot wait to see what new insights I gain with this counseling!"

I loved when Lyn said she eats her salads plain. BUT with the dressing "on the side." Um, if you eat any of the dressing the salad is no longer PLAIN. Having it arrive separately doesn't make it magically not count. She also said that to her, the dressing is "a condiment." (What is it with this lady and her condiments?) Isn't salad dressing a condiment for everyone, unless you drink an entire glass of it? It's sort of a condiment by definition. But Lyn points it out as if she is special and displays heroic restraint by using salad dressing as a condiment. She's ridiculous.

Why did I just go to her website… WHY!  That is five minutes of my life I will never get back.

Is all that condiment talk a Medifast thing?  Must be like zero point foods when you do Weight Watchers. I think she is doing the monthly weigh-in thing wrong, right?   Isn't the point to give you some space from the scale?  Seems like she spends the entire month obsessing about it.  And man, as someone who had plantar fasciitis, she is driving me bonkers. It does hurt like hell and can be a bit scary, but do the stretches and modify your activity, and you will heal.

Yes, I think the condiments are definitely a Medifast thing.  I think I remember her saying that Medifast allows for three condiments a day – but I'm still a bit fuzzy about the details.

It is a Medifast thing, but even when she's not on Medifast she says she uses bacon "as a condiment." So the lady has condiments on the brain, Medifast or no Medifast.

I need to stop going to her train wreck of a blog.  I suffered a critical eye rolling injury today when I read her latest post.  Not only is she eating below her BMR and sabotaging her own WL efforts but she also went on to plan her next week of cheating under the guise that she will be vacationing.  So, when she doesn't have a huge loss come her next weigh in (supposedly going to be more often now) she will have something to blame it on.

I just. don't. get. her.

I have to stop reading her too. It's just an insane loop. Again with the f**king hotel breakfast freakout.

Her holiday posts are always so creepily ideal, Aren't her kids mostly grown except for her girl? What's with all of the infantilization? She's talking about her kids watching Lassie (Lassie?!) and getting ready to have their Easter egg hunt. It sounds like something she dreamed up for herself, the adult child that she is. Some very strange idealization if not outright fantasy going on, and I need to bail.

You know you guys won't be able to stop reading. :) It's like watching a slow motion car accident. You want to look away, but you can't.
