I get those Beachbody "coaches" following me on Instagram all the time.  They follow, then like a bunch of my pictures, then comes the inevitable request for me to "become a coach and live the life of your dreams!"  Uh, no thanks, I already have a real career.

Also, one of my former friends has become a Beachbody shill.  She was a co-worker of mine at this awful place I used to work at, and she treated me terribly.  In retrospect, a lot of it could be called workplace bullying, and now that I am a more mature hamcat I realize it was due to jealousy.  She threw away my (labeled) lunches, she spread gossip about me, she picked on the subordinate employees she knew I enjoyed working with by writing them up, etc., planned happy hours and didn't invite me…that kind of thing.  Well, she always struggled with her weight and with advancing her career (no surprise).  I have enjoyed watching her slow trainwreck on Facebook as she has 1) slowly worn her body down with crazy amounts of Soul Cycle, 2) fallen into the Beachbody cult, and 3) become a coach herself.  Her Facebook profile is basically one huge advertisement for Beachbody now.

Beach bodiers are annoying with their constant shilling but I will say I bought one of their workouts from Amazon and really like it. Not so interested in trying their other products, though. Advocare on the other hand…I just really detest them anymore. I had my son back in January and we had newborn/family pictures taken a few days later. I actually love them and posted them. No joke, I had THREE advoc**ts message me wanting to "share" advocare with me. Completely unsolicited. That's a really crappy thing to do to anyone but seriously, I'm 5"5' and was 148 in my pics. I'm back down to my pre-pregnancy weight now but I still don't post pics of myself because I feel like my body is being analyzed every time.

Lol love your username.

That's a super shitty thing to do.  I'm sure you look great.  hugggg

My feed is mostly ItWorks idiots.  I think there's a few people I know that sell Beach Body but they don't post that often about it and they're actually people who are really fit in real life so the workout challenges sort of make sense (not that I'd ever buy anything from them, but I suppose they're worthy enough as coaches since they were high school and college athletes).

Seriously, though, a weight loss wrap or pills that just 'block fat'???  Who buys this shit? rolleyes

I got pinged in a private IG message from someone whose pic I liked (I followed her back bc she was a local person) and didn't read the text.  I thought it was just a nice selfie, but she interpreted it to mean I might be interested in attending her "webinar" to discuss becoming a "girl boss" and I'd make a great "coach."  UGH I do NOT want to shill BB with you, leave me alone!

A friend of mine did an Advocult "cleanse" recently (thankfully, she has not started shilling it yet). While on the cleanse, she joined me at a Zumba class, and nearly passed out. She barely made it through the warmup before having to stop. Yeah, super healthy. rolleyes I gently reminded her that our digestive tracts work just fine at "detoxing," and there's no reason to do these cleanses.

Not blogger-relate but the Le-Vel/THRIVE shillers are the worst of the worst. hijacked

My poor SIL's dad and step-mom are shilling this crap and okay, her dad was sick for a while and feeling really crappy and now that Thrive makes him feel better that's great – but on Instagram and Facebook it's literally all thrive posts 2-3 times/day. They're family so I don't want to un-follow them but FFS, LAY OFF. I think people who join MLM schemes can't differentiate between personal social media and their ~business~ because that's how they gain "customers" so it results in people getting super turned off and they don't understand why.

I have a friend who is really into BB. She lost 13 lbs and went from thin to skinny. She is always posting for her challenge groups and how people have lost 6 lbs in a week. Sorry, that isn't necessarily healthy. Also she changes her mind on what Shakeology is. One day she will say, "It isn't a meal replacement, it is a nutrient dense supplement". Today she posts, "It is a meal replacement".

There's an instructor at my gym who was super fit, had an enormous following. She split from the gym and started her own training facility which is great! But then all of a sudden I started hearing about these shakes and she was pushing shakeology kits and it bummed me out. I really respected her because I thought she had a healthy attitude about food and fitness, but BB knocks her down a few notches in my book. Her new gym does all the p90x workouts and whatnot- so is shilling shakes a requirement to get all those certifications and licenses and all that?

I thought of another annoying BB-shiller story. I think this girl has since quit BB, so I won't share her name here.

When I first moved to town, a friend of my SIL friended me on FB. I thought she wanted to make me feel welcome. Nope. She wanted to sell me BB. She sent me a message through Facebook that said something like, "With your wedding coming up, I thought you'd like to join my next challenge group!" I sent her back a message that said, "Um, I think you sent this to the wrong person. I'm married to Sally's brother."  She was undeterred and just said oopsie, did I want in anyway?  A little later I realized she had me confused with a different friend of my SIL, who was recently engaged and literally weighed at least 60 pounds more than I do.

Thanks a lot, b***h.

She would also invite me to her FB challenge groups all the time, too. I noticed my SIL and MIL were in the group, so I lurked to see what she was posting. She posted a sample meal plan so I plugged it into MFP and the calorie count for the day was around 1100 calories, plus she was recommending 30 minutes to an hour of exercise per day. The girl is a Physicians Assistant so she can't be so dumb to think that is a healthy way to live.

These people are so brainwashed. Does anyone actually make money off of this stuff or are they just supposed to con other people into selling it? It seems to be the new trend, and it is so irritating. I am sick of seeing BB, Rodan & Fields, the essential oils, Plexus, and all of that other junk in my FB feed. Sometimes I feel like I am being stalked because these people are relentless!

I have a story about essential oils. I posted a status that I was having knee pain from all the squats I've been doing and wondering if a knee sleeve would help. Well, I get a comment from his one girl that I didn't even know was on my friends list (that's how often we talk) stating I need something blue , can't remember the exact name because it has cured her friend of arthritis and grew back her cartilage?
So I said "what is something blue?" Out of curiosity. She responds it an essential oil and it grew back my friends knee cartilage. I was so pissed that she is actually trying to con me so I go off with zero f's give . I said "first off. You dont know what's wrong with my knee as you're not a dr , cartilage does not grow back and certainly not from some sour smelling oil, you sound like a snake oil salesman and you're being deceptive. What if I need knee surgery? You're telling me an oil will cure me? I'm not a naive person but someone else might fall for your BS and end up injuring them self even more, you should be ashamed!

She responded with a bunch of BS about that's not what she said blah blah but the comment was still sitting there, what a idiot. Can't stand these people that claim the product will cure you, no it won't!

You can make some money but it's not thousands of dollars like they want you to believe so you'll join the team. I know a girl that worked her ass off with BB for nearly 2 years and the most she ever made in one week was like $300. A very small percentage of people become wealthy in these types of businesses and you usually end up investing more than you make at the end of the year. They will feed you a bunch of BS about "work hard now so you don't have to later" it's crap. Unless you have a ton of family members or close friends that will sign as coaches and start selling the stuff , you'll be chasing your tail for years to come. I don't understand the BB coaches that tried it for like 3 years, still investing money but not making much? Why keep doing it is my question. I guess the brainwashing is strong. Maybe the training videos are like some Scientology crap where they make you believe in shakeologys powers!

BB like all the rest of the MLMs make a killing off the coaches alone with the shakeology and workouts they buy, it's actually quite genius for them not the coaches.
