"i really love this community for its beauty and inspiration and positivity, but you know what i really love? authenticity….

i am joining @honesttea in their movement to encourage honesty, which i believe we could all use a bit more of these days, and sharing an honest bit with you all about me and motherhood •"

Said Mama Watters, a person known for unabashed copying of other instagram accounts, in the middle of a not-even-thinly veiled ad, on a feed notorious for blatant staging. Sure, okay.

Has anyone noticed her gigantic hands and feet?  They're bigger than her husband's.

By the way, her honest moment of having anxiety?  Everyone has anxiety.  That's the world's biggest non-share and so typical of Amanda.   She cannot be honest to save her life.

Seriously, that Honest Tea bottle is LAUGHABLE. The photo shop is so so so bad.

I really, really want to like MamaWatters. Here aesthetic is very much my own… but she's just soooo try hard lately. Alfie strapped to her chest, cleaning with pretty brooms, and how many freaking times did she need to say "supper" in the most recent post?

We get it. You're homey. But, come on now.

Who is this Amelia? I gotta look her up.

Instagram ameliamarthelia.  Blog is thehomebook.  It's actually a really nice account and blog, though not updated much. No hate.

In other news, I feel really bad for Amanda's oldest child, the girl.  She is so clearly replaced by babies.  She is barely appearing in her feed now.

Also, in oldjoy news, wow that chick loves posting her areolas.

To the bolded- I have wondered this about a lot of these insta-moms. Like, do they feature their older children less out of respect for their privacy, or is it really because the tots and infants generate the most likes and comments? If that's the case, it's incredibly sad.

Also, is "supper" commonly used in the Midwest? I ask because I'm from the Northeast, and I find it so eye-roll inducing. I have never heard anyone around here refer to dinner as supper, so it just sounds very little house on the prairie or something…

All these women are bizarre clones. I have to admit I like their aesthetic but it's so eerily similar it's surpassed the creepy level. Old joy and mama watters have almost the exact bedroom, complete with bare windows which is extremely strange unless you live in the country. Same baskets, same hats, same kitchen, same colors. Now that Amelia mentioned upthread, what is going on?! Did all these ladies conspire to have babies at the same time?!  Do they all buy the same hooks and brooms? I can't even deal with this utter insanity.

I feel like they were all in a procreation competition with one another this summer.
Their houses are lovely, but all of the forced "mamahood is just such a blessing" makes me reeeally happy that I'm child-free. These women have no identity other than being mothers. No thank you.

I just found this thread and looked through Mama Watters, OldJoy, and Amelia whatever's Instagrams. Damn, these chicks are definite clones of one another. Down to the straw hats and white kitchens. It's interesting to see a pretty clear line of transition from basic Target décor to a full-on Kinfolk/Scandinavian look when you scroll down their Instagrams.

I'm curious how the shift happens. When their multiple children are napping, do they just dick around on Instagram/the Internet and decide they totally want to change the look of their life so it's more camera ready? Do they aim to be sheeple, just following the dominant look that's circulating? What is the whole point, honestly?

It's one thing to not wear the same clothes you wore 20 years ago—yeah, it's kind of fun to keep up with trends in fashion, décor, hair, etc., but this whole rebranding of one's life is kinda creepy.

Also, it's hysterical how their husbands totally don't match their new Kinfolk life. They still look like collared-shirt bores who shop at Sears. (Not hating on this, it's just the most-opposite aesthetic I can think of to theirs!)

Ugh, Amanda is such an awful mother.  There have been at least three instances that I am aware of where she's posted naked photos of her children and then deleted them later — one of Stella in a bathtub, one of Theo nude in a field yesterday, etc.  I swear, she has no recognition of them as individual human beings who will later be adult men and women with naked pictures of themselves splashed across the internet, with Mama back at home stroking the possessions she SWF'ed with the money from sponsorships.

Now they're painting the FLOORS white too?

If I was Jami Nato, I'd have trouble not commenting 'WHAT DID YOU DO TO THE BEAUTIFUL ATTIC WE BUILT'.

For reference — even though it pains me because blergh, Jami Nato — here's what the attic looked like before Amanda stripped that house of any character. ( http://www.thenatos.com/2012/08/attic-renovation-before-and-after.html?m=1 )

It's the same thing that happens with child actors. Once they age out of cute and precocious they are really no longer of slobbering devotion status to adult fans. It's sad but that's how it's been basically since audiences left the theater after "Miss Annie Rooney" grumbling about Shirley Temple daring to grow up. Kids from birth to about age 7 = $$$. After that they may appeal to the Disney Channel tween crowd for a few more years, but most adults lose interest after their beloved baby icons their lose chubby cheeks and milk teeth.

That's why all these mommy bloggers and sahm lifestyle blogs have a shelf life. After about the third baby it's just more of the same from the same mom; and once the last baby starts kindergarten their blogs just kind of fizzle unless they have transitioned into food or fashion or home decor blogging.

I don't know the Nato lady, but it's interesting to see the house without blinding brightness and that darn Theo causing trouble…

Anyway, Amanda Jane Jones painted her floors white recently, so that's what I'm thinking inspired Amanda Watters. I've always thought these white wall bloggers were just copying AJJ, who is a bit more designer-y and less antique taper candle-y.

Well it appears Chalk White Arrow is also a part of this crowd now. She's tagging @mamawatters and appears to ALSO have praying man in her new house. I guess her old house was Taza/Bleubird and her new space is this new mamawatters/dearestdaughters aesthetic (the latter is the only one I actually had to remove from my feed because I couldn't take the staging anymore).

It's too bad. I've been rooting for Sara from CWA, because she was starting to have her own style and find her voice.
