"I'm not really…umm…going to share anything profound today."

YOU DON'T SAY.

Why start now, Kath, why start now?

It looks like she's never used a spatula before.

Right? You can tell by the way she handles things (pan, spatula) that she has no cooking skills. That video and the fan girl comments were scary. Are they all low IQ too??? Plus she looks shitty and is inarticulate. ( no surprise there).

My very best wishes to Mazen. Growing up or living with a person who is always making passive aggressive digs at everyone and everything is awful.

Also, it sounds like she talks completely through her nose.

I finally broke down and watched the video. One million eye rolls. I cannot believe I sat through that entire thing, but I have to admit that I was mesmerized by Kath's enormous nose the entire time. Her eggs always look like the plastic scrambled eggs that come in a kids' play kitchen set, so I'm glad to know how NOT to make eggs. I'll stick to Gordon Ramsay's method, Kathy. Thanks anyway. rolleyes

HI… new to GOMI but had to create an account today, mainly because I have been reading this KERF thread for ages and after seeing 41 comments about someone making scrambled eggs, things have really switched on that I need to join you guys in the "WTF IS KATH DOING & WHY GOD WHY DO PEOPLE LIKE IT" debate.newhere

Is Carbz in a bed now?

When my 2 year old kitten is supposed to be napping she's in her crib in her room, not running around.  And if she was running around, I wouldn't try to film and instructional video..unless it was for not folding, kids can help with that.

She posted about him climbing out of his crib recently so he probably is. I hope so anyway if he can climb out its time to move

And I agree she should have waited to so the video if he was up and needed attention

Maybe she needs to move the crib away from that bed in his room. Wasn't it right next to it or something?

Oh a girl can dream, right? I seriously hope enough people ask Kath for this and she makes a video like the non-clothes-folding video.

My favourite way to cook scrambled eggs is to cook them in avocado oil!!! Have you tried it before?

I had to laugh at the idea of a mason jar taking up less space than a bowl in the dishwasher. You should give us a video of your dishwasher loading next!

She has referenced multiple times how particular she is about loading and unloading the dishwasher (wasn't there something about blood rushing to her head because she's a dainty ballerina or am I making that up), I just cannot fathom that much space in my brain being taken up with the thoughts Kath has and expresses out loud at that!!

D) "Eggs from chickens that are pastured."  She talks how she writes!  Her neighbor's girlfriend pasteurizes her chickens?  That's just mean and painful.  I'm also pretty sure that the color of the eggs is because of the CHICKEN, not pasteurization.  Good job RD.

I'm going to WK for Kerf for a second and say that she was right about the color of the eggs, assuming she was talking about the color of the yolks and not the color of the shells. The color of the shell is determined by the breed of chicken and has ZERO influence on health, taste, etc. The color of the YOLK is determined by what the chickens eat and pastured chickens have much more yellow (and more delicious) yolks! If she is buying eggs from pastured hens they will have a different color yolk than those from typical "free range" or "cage free" hens. And none of it has anything to do with any sort of pasteurization process.

Now back to your regularly scheduled snarking …

Alton Brown says to use milk, never water, when making scrambled eggs. Something about the way it steams and something about proteins. I don't remember, but I changed to milk years ago when I saw that episode of Good Eats and the change in my scrambled eggs was marked. Kerf not only used water, but SO MUCH water!

Her handling of the spatula could not have looked more awkward and incompetent.

Until Kath's video today I honestly didn't know it was a thing to make scrambled eggs with water. My parents always made them with milk so it's what I've always done, I seriously wanted to vomit when she put water in.

She did a post about how she unloads her dishwasher.  Her method is to take all the dishes out of the DW and pile them on the counter and THEN put them all away.  If I'm remembering correctly, her reasons for doing it this way were twofold: to keep Mazen out of the DW, because she's such a omgbusymom, and to prevent the blood from rushing to her head.

Her knives were switched from blades down to blades up. Hi, Kath!
Also, where'd her super special bag of salt go? The brand didn't pay enough for a video spot I suppose.

I did notice her knives! lolAlso, she "scrambles" her eggs in the jar before putting them in the pan to, um, scramble them? (With a spatula, if you please!)

the dishwasher thing and her explanation always made zero sense to me. isn't bending down for an extended period of time to put everything on the counter worse then bending down, picking something up, putting it away and giving time for the blood to return to your size two ass? such a momo.

Love the new thread!! lol

That egg video…the smug! She's SO proud, you guys.

I don't understand why she has to hand wash a bowl but a jar goes in the dishwasher. Does she mean a bowl takes up too much space? Why would that even be a problem? Also, it's not like you need a giant freaking mixing bowl for scrambled eggs (unless I'm doing it wrong??!). I am so confused.

Also who the hell uses a fork on a non-stick pan to make eggs??

ETA: Just saw this comment exchange – why does she insist on answering questions in such a clipped, awkward manner? Why not just say "I buy Whole Foods salted butter" ? Or even "Whole Foods, salted" ? Or, you know, she take a minute to just fully answer the question in a real sentence instead of respond to her readers like a robot.

where do you get your butter?
