Also, this gem from the Lasagna tragedy:

"Dolls of many nations convene in my home!"

Total Kerf-ism. However, seeing as Buzz is the OG of the Younger Fam, you might call it a Buzz-ism.

I'm amazed that she used an active verb, and went "subject, predicate" instead of writing something like "having conventions are many dolls and teas were had!"

The movement I felt as though I "got" Buzz was when, in that awful, rambling, nonsensical beach video, Kerf films Buzz popping a piece of food into her mouth and indicating the vegetables on her plate: "color means nutrition!" It was such a dumb, pat thing to say, and she said it with the hunted look of a cornered animal in her eyes. There's a lot of passive aggression around that dinner table, with everyone either sniping pre-emptively or taking "subtle" digs at one another.

Haha, holy shit about them still being passive-aggressive about Larbs breaking a mason jar 25 years ago. That's incredible.

So Buzz and Peepaw just sit around at night, reliving the fun and excitement of 20-year-old calendars?

"Review" them for flipping WHAT?!

And maybe I should temper what I said about Buzz loving to be surrounded by tons of rotting old crap. Looks like it might be PeePaw too.

I have NEVER laughed as hard at a KERF-related thread as I am right now, thinking of them "reviewing calendars".

I have no words for the crazy shit Buzz is rambling on about. Dolls? Lasagna? Who the f**k thinks, "Hm, I have this product to shill. How can I effectively integrate this into my blog? Oh, I know! I'll just pretend I'm feeding it to my DOLL COLLECTION!"

I mean what the f**k.

Don't you think Buzz is a hoarder? Some of those calendars were 30 years old! What are they going to review—oh look, I had a dental appt that day and there was no trash collection that week because of the holiday. Yes, those were the good old days.

Review one calendar each night?  I can't even.  Even 150 years ago, people had Dickens serials to look forward to, not their old calendars.

A Sarah Josepha Hale picnic?  Really?  This pasta with Italian dressing recipe is also consistent with the family's love for bland foods.

Pack a picnic in honor of Sarah Josepha Hale and find your own strength, thankfully, renewed!

Here’s a picnic perfect dish that would meet Sarah’s approval:

Summer Tortellini Salad

one pound tortellini, cooked

1 red bell pepper chopped

1 medium zucchini, chopped

2 spring onions, chopped

1/4 cup chopped black olives

1/4 cup toasted pine nuts

1/2 cup Italian dressing

1/2 cup shredded or cubed cheese, your choice

Mix all and refrigerate.

This is precisely what I was thinking. Review WHAT? And WHY?

Read a damn book. Or even watch television, for god's sake! I'm going to have nightmares about being trapped in their creepy hoard-house, running helplessly through a maze of mouldering calendar stacks, Buzz's crazy eyes leering out from amongst hundreds of porcelain doll faces. Noooooo!

I don't have any problem with snarking on Buzz because smug, entitled, kids with an over-inflated sense of self don't raise themselves. She created KERF! Although, Buzz doesn't seem nearly as rigid as Kath. I wonder if she sometimes reads Kath's blog and says WTF. Actually, I'd really like to know what Karen thinks about the whole thing.

There are onions in that dish, so at least Buzz has that over her obnoxious spawn.

And yeah, she's totally a hoarder, albeit an organized one. The 30 years of calendars are probably stacked next to the Reader's Digests 1976-1990, which are down the hall from the room of creepy broken dolls, the Noxzema jar collection, and the stuffed animals that Buzz believes can talk.
