I like her blatant jab at her sister in her "About Me"

"My famous food-blogging sister bugged me to start a blog for a while, but I really didn’t think anyone would want to read about my life considering that I’m still finding my way and I get more excited about drinking beer than eating oatmeal.

I just read her "About Me" section. Oh, my. I can't go so far as to say I find her more obnoxious than La Kerf, but damn it's close. What a privileged, oblivious brat. It's clear that she has never wanted for anything, and has never had to handle anything remotely difficult or traumatic in her life.

I love to wine and dine, travel, shop, read, attend concerts, play outdoors, and go out with friends, but it’s difficult to enjoy these things when you go to work all day.

Or…you could do what the ENTIRE REST OF THE WORKING WORLD DOES and do these things in the evenings, on the weekend, on vacation, etc. She works 40 hours a week, which leaves her 128 hours a week of unoccupied time. If she can't figure out how to wine and dine, travel, show, read, attend concerts, play outdoors, and go out with friends in some portion of that time, she's an idiot.

Grow up, kiddo. You have absolutely nothing to complain about.

larb's matt is more attractive. he's what matthole wishes/thinks he looks like.

I guess there's no accounting for taste, because I've always personally thought the dumpier sister ended up with the better looking man (douche factor aside). I think Larbs' Matt is really ugly >_< The first two pictures of him in this post http://takingbackmytwenties.wordpress.com/2011/07/04/celebrating-matt/ …. egads. Whereas I think Kath's Matt is really fairly nice looking.

yea, I don't think he's cute either. He's too preppy for me too…always wearing bow ties and plaid pants and stuff. ew.

ALSO, she's a school guidance counselor who probably only works 10 months a year and has more built-in vacation (winter and spring breaks) than most working people. Shut up, Larbs.

Morbid curiosity got the better of me, so I read a few pages' worth of her posts. Jesus, I didn't think it was possible for someone to go toe to toe with Kath in terms of being totally boring and vapid, but damn. They are certainly cut out of the same cloth. Am I missing something with this blog? It seems like little more than an exclamation point-laden recital of what she does outside of work…but just play by play. No stories, no recipes, just "we went here and ate this and omg! Squash on pizza!" accompanied by truly horrible pictures. Larbs – if these are the 20s you're "taking back", you can go ahead and leave them where they lay. Your life is really boring. You are really boring. I think you can probably cut down on the time you spend writing each post if you just create a template in Word that looks like this:

Tonight, we met up with _______. Haven't seen them in forever! We went to _____ for brunch/lunch/drinks/dinner and had _____. [insert food pics] So good!!! Then we went home and Matt brought out _____ beers to spice up the afternoon/evening. [insert pic of beer bottles]. Next _____ is a school holiday! I can't wait!! Just have to get through this week!

You're welcome. boring

For real, bossyboots. I do literally all of those things she lists and it's not difficult to enjoy them because of working all day AT ALL.

The people who think Larbs is more bearable than Kerf must have a way higher tolerance for douchery than me. Their personalities are equally abhorrent, Larbs dresses better, but Bath Matt is hotter, so….it's a wash.

I think she's a school psychologist which is different than a guidance counselor, right? Sorry, it's been a while since I was in school.

The ‘school psychologist’ bit is Buzz’s insecurities talking. If I remember, she says that her daughter has an ‘advanced degree’ and is a school psychologist. That’s so that a reader might mistakenly think that Larbs has a PhD, which she does not, much like Kath hopes that people will think she went to Duke by virtue of wearing Duke apparel. She’s a glorified guidance counselor at best.

Exactly. To be a true school psychologist you need a PhD.  She probably has a MA degree in counseling or child psychology which allows her to do some clinical work, but she does not to do educational testing and assessments like a school psychologist would.

I don't know why the whole KERF family feels the need to embellish their educational achievements.  They should just proud of being college graduates – they're still ahead of 75% of the population in terms of their educational attainment.

As a graduate student in a school psychology program, I'm going to have to defend my profession here. A school psychologist is not a glorified guidance counselor and requires a Masters in Education as well as an "advanced degree" called an Ed.S. (education specialist). This degree is 30 hours or more beyond a Masters. We go through a pretty rigorous training program and its sad that not many people have heard of the profession. Here's a link to the National Association of School Psychologists' page  http://www.nasponline.org/about_sp/whatis.aspx , it's a real job I promisewink

Ok getting off my soapbox, I agree she complains way too much and is the definition of firstworldproblems. Snark on
