Does anyone here read her? She use to be a SOMI for sure but lately I don't know something just seems very off and I can't put my finger on it.

I've read her a few times but have always found her incredibly boring (when not talking about Sean and Catherine haha!). She seems like a sweet person with a great life, but just seems to have absolutely nothing of substance to offer. The adoption thing sounded like it would be interesting but she hasn't given any info at all on it (which I'm sure is for a reason). Also, I can't figure out if they already know what child they are adopting or if they have just decided they want a girl and have chosen a name then will then give it to whatever girl they end up adopting?idontknow

Anyways… she's not a hate read (unlike that friend of hers with the CRAZY eyes and Nordstrom obsession), but she's also just not someone I think to read, and when I do, I realize how dull and boring her blogs are and forget about her again for awhile.

Aw, shucks. I really like Shay. She may not be the most intellectual blogger, but she seems happy, has fun, and has figured out a system (getting up at 4:30!)/priorities (family, health, independent income) that work for her life without being mean or judgey. She's a SOMI for me.

I like her, but can see why she's a GOMI for some. But for me, I see her as being super sweet, kind to her readers, and having a cute, non-obnoxious family — and I'm a fan on the Gap, so I appreciate that she posts pics of herself wearing basically everything they sell, lol! I've made several of her recipes, too, and they're good, quick meals to feed a family. Nothing fancy about them, but I don't use a slow cooker to make extravagent meals. I do wish she'd stop calling herself a foodie because she is not. And I wish she didn't go so nuts with the affiliate links. But other than that, I'm a fan and probably always will be.

I agree!  I guess I don't mind and don't notice the links when they are for things I can afford and actually buy.

Don't mind her so much – think she shops a lot, but is ok. She is very secure in herself and doesn't seem to be begging for compliments. What I think is weird? Her husband. The waxing of the chest combined with the admission that he uses a clarisonic… idontknow

I like her too :) I don't think she's as confidant as people might think. She seems down to earth and I enjoy her "Shades of Shay" posts because I love seeing how other people do things / live / etc.

I like Shay and her blogs! Her recipes are always a hit with my family. I must only snark on the fact that she looks so cute all the time, I don't know how she does it!

SOMI for me.

I've liked what I've made of her recipes. The one time I had a question about a recipe, she replied within 24 hours in the comments.

I think the behind-the-scenes stuff she shares with her being Bachelor Sean's sister is interesting.

The clothes blogging aspect she could pretty much skip as  far as I'm concerned, because she and her friend  ole' crazy eyes Pinterest Told Me To (who has her own thread in the fashion blogs section) pretty much get all the same things, and I'm not a SAHM so she really doesn't cover the kind of clothes I wear.

She goes a little heavy on the religion from time to time for me, but at least she seems sincere about it, and it's not so much or so often that it would make me stop reading unless she got more intense.

Basically she's a pleasant diversion sort of read – I never finish reading irritated that I wasted 5 minutes, or worse about myself or the world in general.

i have a conspiracy theory that her and catherine don't seem to get along very well… shay and sean (and her husband) seemed pretty close before he went onto the bachelor, and it seems like there has been a weird disconnect since he got together with catherine.  even when the show was airing, shay was openly chatting with the runners-up, and pretty much mentioned catherine once, maybe twice, in the various recap posts.  even in her wedding post there was a very odd tone to me… i don't know, like i said, totally a conspiracy theory! but i also read lots of CDAN and am generally very suspicious of sean and catherine these days…

I just found this blog throug Kelly's Korner. She's one of those who's life is sooo diffferent from mine that I'm vaguely interested. Like Kelly Stamps, I don't really find her snark-worthy, just kinda…boring.

The behind the scenes info on the Bachelor was cool (even though I didn't watch Sean's season) but I was especially interested to find that, going back further into her archives, Sean dated TWO Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders! I'm addicted to the CMT show, so I "knew" both of them. He dated Brooke Sorenson for quite a while, and then Ryan Ray briefly, before he went on the Bachelorette. And now I'm intrigued by ruhroh's theory on her dislike of Catherine, and tend to agree!

I do admire Shay and her husband for all the traveling they do, and the fact that they're not afraid to take their kids along. They've gone some pretty interesting places, and seem to do more than just Disney and cruises (although they do those too).

Oh wait, there is ONE snark-worthy element…her kids names. UGH.

ETA that I think they already have a baby lined up for adoption, but just aren't sharing the details. I did notice that in the comments on a recent post, someone mentioned the Little Couple going to Inda to adopt a baby, and saying that she thought about Shay and her family, which led me to wonder if their daughter is in India?

I've read her since she was back in braces and had to go through speech therapy and so that's been a few years of subscribing to her feed.

I know there are folk who don't like her for shopping so much… but I figure if you work hard and pay your bills, you're entitled to spend your money on what you like. I'll even admit that I've bought a few things she recommended (eg, Clarisonic, jeans, et) and haven't had a problem with any of the purchases.

I like her. She doesn't have a pretense of being something she's not. I like the faith-based posts, emphasis on family, and I don't mind the recipes. (Plus, she has a house that isn't decorated in whatever is the latest fad on Pinterest.) She's SOMI for me.
