This sounds AMAZING! I have recently been buying BSC books again. I used to have TONS. I am so sad we sold them when I was a  teenager. If only I had known that 32 year old me would love to read them again.

Thank you SO MUCH Um That’s Really Problematic for bringing this podcast to my attention. The Babysitter’s Club was such a huge part of my childhood/tween years. Every trip to the mall began with a stop at the bookstore to see if the new BSC book had arrived.

And this podcast is literally the BEST. The guys are so intelligent and funny. The only problem with listening to this podcast obsessively now?  There have been a few moments in my daily life when a conversation lulls and I hate awkward silences and I just want to blurt out “Claudia is wearing a bra now!” So far I’ve refrained from actually saying it. ;-)

THANK YOU for sharing the love with this podcast! Those two are hilarious. I was dying over their analysis of Mr Prezzioso.

This is literally the first podcast premise I've found interesting enough to try. Downloaded the podcast app and everything just for this. It is so so hilarious, and I'm shocked by how much of the books I remember from my childhood. Really enjoying this! clapclapclap

I totally agree with this! I remember so much, including the description of Mary-Anne's outfit to the dance with Logan! haha

That being said, I listened to Claudia and the New Girl this morning and had zero recollection of that story, and as a weird arty dork kid back in my youth I thought I would have recalled Ashley Wyeth!

I had recently thought about re-reading all of mine but I didn't know if that would make me a huge loser! I'm a 31 year old mom of two. I saved all of my BSC books and probably have close to 100. I hope my daughters will be interested in them someday.

Holy crap I'm so glad I randomly clicked on this thread today!  I can't wait to start listening to this..just downloaded all of the episodes!

I had SO MANY of these books when I was a kid, and I too wish I had saved them for if I ever have kids.

I have been re-reading, so if that makes us losers…high-five I most recently finished 'Sea City, Here We Come'. I LOVE the super specials.

Long time GOMI lurker, but the BSC made me finally register. The analysis of Boy Crazy Stacey and The Yellow Wallpaper kind of blew me away. anne was still writing at this point, but I've talked to some fairly well known authors (work in a bookstore) who broke into publishing ghostwriting kids series – they said they sometimes did stuff like that in there just for their own amusement. I hope they keep going, at least to get in some other the other super specials – island Adventure I'm old enough that I read them as they were published, and left somewhere around 40. However, it still like to hear a discussion on some of the later dramas.

OHMYGOSH I'm so excited!!! I was a crazy huge fan of the BSC all during those magical years of the 90s. I read them all, had the movies, and even tried to start my own BSC with my friend (that failed horribly and kind of ruined our friendship:) lmao I will have to listen to this – simply have to.  I think my favorite, or at least most memorable, book was Dawn's Big Date –  the one where Dawn tries to change herself to get a boy to like her. I think Dawn was my favorite. I was so intrigued by her "CA coolness" and her vegetarianism and healthy eating. I started reading in late grade school, so the fact that they were these older, more mature girls in the eighth grade also pulled me in. I so badly want to go back and reread some! Maybe someday they will rerelease with updated covers or something and I'll get my daughter to read them ;)

I just discovered this podcast because of GOMI and it's amazing! I'm only up to "Mary Ann Saves the Day." Now I want to scour my library and Ebay for old BSC books. clap
