seems to be a new crazy runner and nutrition girl making her rounds on some of the popular blogs around here.

figured i'd start the thread – she seems genuine and nice – not as ditzy as the rest but to get a femoral stress fracture – i don't know – she was running a lot of miles!

i like her blog though – its actually clean looking. plus sort of interesting if ya read through it.

Ooookay, well let's assume snarkymcb***hy (and myself) don't go around stalking local runners/bloggers on dailymile.

So, back to your original post – what is "sort of interesting" about this blog? Same old blog formula with an extra dose of workout selfies.

Why are you so interested in this chick's blog if you've already BQ'd? What does she have to offer? Other than overtraining = injury. Groundbreaking stuff.

i dont know – its not some huge interest in her blog – its just different bc she doesnt seem as 'fake' as a HRG who seems to always have money and stuff -

i honestly got caught on her experience with losing the job and just sort of followed it ever since – nothing really doing with her running. i just started following her i guess whenever she lost her job a while ago – i think those that have actually held a job can relate to that.

i will admit "selfy" pics are annoying as hell to me and i hate them and she does a lot of them it seems but idk – i honestly just i guess got interested cuz she lives near me more than anything…

i dont exactly live in a hotbed running area like utah, florida, california, etc. idk

I was actually thinking about starting a thread on here about this one. I found her blog through the comments sections of…well, A LOT of other blogs! I started going back through some older posts and my jaw dropped: daily 10+ mile runs, speed sessions out the wazoo, 80 mile weeks, ZERO rest days, all of that. There were more than a few people who were commenting on her posts saying things to the tune of, "hey girl, you're going to get an injury putting your body through that kind of treatment."

Then, she got a stress fracture. No one was surprised, but I do feel very bad for her since running was a great outlet for her to distract from the monotony of not being able to work.

Overall I do enjoy her blog though.

even when i was training for boston i always took 2 rest days – rest is pretty essential especially if your doing high intensity stuff

looking back on her training it looked pretty intense.

like her blog – but she has to learn to rest! otherwise she is going to get the injury bug often.

I found her a blog a while ago and thought she seemed sweet from her "about me" and some entries and then i saw her weekly training log, got depressed and stopped reading

Never heard of this chick before now. Just looked at her workout logs…in the month of August, she took one rest day. ONE.

And as far as I can tell, she went from about 20-30 miles per week, to the 60s, to 80 in two months. Lunatic.

she looks like she lost her job a while ago and turned to running as an outlet and just got way too carried away. either that or it looks like her husband runs 100+ mile weeks she mentioned and maybe she thought she could too.

she seems really genuine and nice and is fun to read but definitely needs to fricken calm it down when it comes to running such high mileage without rest at all or working up to it. its like running 101.

From reading a few posts I'm guessing she's trying to match her husband's training? But he's aiming for a sub 2:30 marathon, so he's kind of in a totally different league. She needs a more sensible training plan and more reasonable goals. BQ may be in her future, but it looks like she's trying to cram years worth of training into one cycle! no wonder she ended up injured.

Yep, that and I think her husband gives her advice on how to get faster, which is clearly a bit too much for her.

I read her About Me section and she said that she got injured 3 times during her previous marathon training sessions. Her stress fracture recovery plan seems like an aggressive timeline. Hopefully she listens to her body and doesn't try and force herself to adhere to some short timeline.
