This blog is also very good,  she works very hard and has made amazing improvements as a runner.

Thanks for this recommendation. Her improvement is pretty cool to see. I'm still newish and at that point where I've been improving a lot just with smarter training and more miles, but a BQ still seems like a really long shot.

I posted this before on the old forums…  These are my personal favorites:

gotracygo.com

cautionredheadrunning.blogspot.com

discombobulatedrunning.blogspot.com

frayedlaces.blogspot.com – though lots of people here hate frayed laces, I like her.  She is a bit too full of herself at times, but she's honest about her struggles.

ilaxstudio.com/blog

racingitoff.blogspot.com

jessruns.com

runthisamazingday.com

iwannagetphysical.blogspot.com – the only guy in this bunch.  Pretty speedy too, clocking 6 minute/miles

I love Steve (iwannagetphysical)!  He's funny… though do all guys think that they need all the bloody and gross humor to get readers?

I like Frayed Laces too. She may be full of herself, but I love how seriously she takes her training and how she doesn't make excuses for herself, she just pushes herself.

As long as we're on this topic, does anyone read any good ultra marathon blogs they'd want to share? I'm always looking for good ones because the ones I have on my reader don't update as much as I'd like. It's like silence…silence….RACE RECAP….silence…..

I LOVE Fast Cory. He's not fast, but he's funny, and takes amazing pictures. He ran a 50 miler recently, and Javelina Jundred last year.

I just posted about devoncrosbyhelms.com in the SOMI forum — love her (she does marathons and ultras)! She doesn't update extremely regularly, but she always writes long, well thought-out posts.

Evan may be a massive dick, but he's a hilarious, blunt massive dick who runs for the sake of running, kicks ass at ultras, and is wicked hot.

One of his recent entries:

The first type are the runners that love to shout from the rooftops about how many miles and elevation they run each week.  They feel this somehow makes them look extra cool and more legit amongst their peers.

The second type of runner is completely embarrassed about how much time they waste on running just to produce mediocre results.

I am the second type.

I'm in love with Sage Canaday, personally, although I hate sharing him because I seriously want to have his babies.

Chicrunner was one of the first I started reading. She had race recaps from LA/So Cal races and it was useful. She runs a lot less now, she barely seemed to train for the Oklahoma City Marathon. I skip most of her updates, but still keep her on my reader since her occasional posts about working for a company that plans/produces races is interesting.

Do you read RunnersRambles? I know she's just new to ultra marathoning, but she's been training for the AR50 mile and has blogged about it.

I don't read that one, but I'll check it out! I love Fast Cory to the person who recommended that one. His 100 mile recap cracked me up.

Jill Homer writes an excellent blog (and books, too) about endurance racing, both on bikes and on foot. She started ultrarunning a couple of years ago (and her ex is Geoff Roes!): http://arcticglass.blogspot.com/
