Second on Lauren Gleisberg. Seems like such a sweetheart and rad body. I was a little disappointed that she decided not to go to dental school, though. Bloggers, especially HLBs, stay a lot more interesting when they're doing something besides full-time blogging and fitness. I think she'll stay a SOMI for me, though.

One who's worthy of a thread is that Linda girl from Fit Fed and Happy or whatever. Comments on all the blogs and she's been discussed in other HLB threads. I would never start a thread on her though, because I think she's seriously ill and having her own GOMI thread could push over further over the edge.

Elise Blaha Cripe. chair

Coming here to post this…

I love her and her blog! Constantly impresses me.

I loved her for years, when she was still a paper crafting/scrap blog. Something about her transition into just making "stuff" and those cringe-inducing "Dear Ellerie" posts tipped her the other way for me. I think her business model is fascinating, considering she made over $50,000 in stamp sales (which, admittedly, I contributed to), but the only posts I've enjoyed from her for most of 2014 have been the business related posts, which is a far cry from how much I used to enjoy the blog. Also, it's totally BS she's on the Studio Calico team this year since she never really blogs Project Life anymore the way she used to. It's fine to move on from a hobby or business venture, but own it and don't keep trying to reap the benefits with a minimal amount of effort. At the heart of it, I don't get the same creative inspiration from her anymore, I don't like the over-saturation of kid posts, and I miss the light-hearted tone and honesty that haven't been present much since 2012.

I used to enjoy her blog a lot more, too (though admittedly I still check it every day). Part of what kills it for me is her being buddy-buddy with the ABM girls. She's even said something to the effect of how she can't believe how they consistently produce such high quality DIY posts… which is pretty much the exact opposite and makes me think she's not really paying attention. The other thing that annoys me, which she totally doesn't have control over, are her fangirls. She posted a photo on Instagram of her using her sewing machine and someone commented "Is there anything you don't do??" Really?? She's using a sewing machine, and if you look at the product photos for Make29 this month, not even all that well. I think she does a great job of getting stuff done, which definitely helps you succeed online, but I don't think she's doing anything particularly groundbreaking…

I'm on the fence about Elise, but I mostly just wish there were a place I could discuss what I read on her blog. I generally like Elise's business posts, and I admire her ability to get stuff done, but her crafting posts (which I used to enjoy!) make me cringe. She's the first to admit that the results aren't perfect, but as soon as she does something once, she becomes an expert and creates a tutorial or an ecourse. Or worse yet, sells the finished product for $78…

And the fangirls go crazy over everything!! I had to stop following her on Instagram when I saw that she was getting hundreds of likes on even the most boring pictures. It just made me too angry/jealous.

I feel guilty about this, but Dans Le Townhouse went from being awesome to awful with a quickness. I loved her townhouse-she did MCM really well, she owns amazing pieces, has a good eye, and her art is to die for. So when they bought their lakehouse I assumed it would be awesome. Yeah, not so much.

It's this god awful pop of color disease. She's been infected. Her townhouse had a lot of color, but it was done well. The lakehouse is juvenile. The turquoise kitchen looks awful in that open floor plan. And she keeps making ever more juvenile choices-like her new curtains. Ugh. Plus, she's all sponsored posts and blog hops all the time. It's killing me.

(I still want her amazing vintage Hungarian posters, and her abstracts. The abstracts are killer.)

Okay I feel like a total schmuck, but I have been thinking about starting a thread for Biz from My Bizzy Kitchen. I like her recipes but I actually think her life is kinda sad. She works so hard (I'm really glad she quit that second job) and I'm going to hell for saying this but her husband annoys me. Has he ever worked? I know he's sick now, but I've been reading a couple years and don't remember him working. He just seems to drag her down. And she's all Oh I just love him so much and sometimes it just doesn't seem to ring true. And Hannah never comes around-maybe some friction there? I started disliking him when he talked about his 'turtle touching cotton'. Gross much?? puke
On the other hand, her Buffalo Chicken Chili is amazing. And her Lasagna Soup

Plus 1 for Biz.  She's become really over-the-top crass.  And I agree, her husband irks me as well.

She seems so nice and I know she has struggles with being a single mum to her child (who is adorable) and who suffers terribly from celiacs and other related things – but she half posts these drama's that drive me crazy!  She was meant to get married to a lovely man, but they didn't because "something" went down but he's still around. Then "something" happened in her life and needs to start over and so on and so on.  These Half-Tells are driving me crazy!!

sangry

Yes, she drives me NUTS with her vague blogging.  The marriage that didn't happen because of something awful and her latest hints that something terrible happened to her son and he needs her full attention (near death experience?) and he's a complete blubbering mess.  Girl, spill the beans or don't mention it at all.

I don't subscribe to the housekeeper's section of her blog but I doubt she's more open there.  I've been reading her for years and years and I cannot ever read between the lines and it drives me batty.

So about what I said chair

I would feel really shitty starting a thread about her since she seems really nice and has been through a lot with her disability, but I get frustrated because she writes about life and love as if it's a Taylor Swift song.  She's over 30 and still writing blog letters to her hypothetical husband but makes no attempt to meet anyone.  She's against online dating but doesn't go out, and seems hung up on guys from a decade ago.  I partially read her blog hoping she'll change and start "going for it" but I don't think it will ever happen idontknowShe used to be an editor/advisor at a college newspaper but then quit to blog "full time" and her content went downhill.  I think she's a great writer though.

What disability? (I don't read her blog regularly, but I'm curious.)

and

These are two Nashville girls who married celebs and started blogging because they have nothing else to do. I'd love to start a thread–both blogs are cringe-worthy, you must want to be like me because I'm blonde and married someone semi-famous–but Nashville is a small town disguised as a big city and we have friends in common so I don't dare. But ugh, celebrity-wife blogs drive me bonkers.

The Mom Edit. (Mostly a SOMI, but sometimes… yikes.)

Nesting Gypsy.

Oh, I love Shana. Style-wise she can sometimes be too out there for me (and I am a pear-shaped ham, so I can't pull off a lot of what she wears), but personality-wise, she seems like someone I'd really like to hang out with IRL. I'm a little concerned now that she's blogging as her full-time job that the sponsorships, and rstyle links, etc are going to be too much for me, but for now she's a total SOMI. (And I totally admit to crying while reading some of her posts about her breast cancer and treatment.)

I believe her name is Kasmira. I think 99% of her outfits are totally snarkworthy but she seems like such a nice person, and she really seems to give no f**ks at all what people think of her, and that is kind of endearing to me.

I have a lot of SOMI's that I would never add to their respective categories (I'd feel too bad) under the GOMI forums, but sometimes wish I could read a little snark about them… does that happen to anyone else? I know, I'm a hypocrite.

I would start with Glisten Fit, a SOMI for me. I really like her, and I'm curious to see what others who might think she's a GOMI would have to say. Who would you want to see?

popcorn

I thought about posting her on here before when she was Lovely Little Things, but I figured her blog was kind of small and no one cared. I always liked her overall and thought she seemed like a sweet girl, but her blog just was kind of all over the place and she maybe did too many link ups (sometimes I read her blog and literally the only posts were like share a recipe Monday link up with abc blogger, outfit link up with xyz blogger, high five for Friday with the Lauren). Also, didn't she ask a blogger friend that she hadn't previously met IRL to be a bridesmaid? Or am I wrong? If so, I side-eye that a bit.

I like her new blog though and I'm glad she finally gained some direction with something she seems really happy doing. Girlfriend is RIPPED too.
