When we ask ourselves why she didn't just stick to photography if she wanted to earn money, this picture answers in 1000 words or less – she's probably actually better at coding.

^^ That picture is hilariously bad. Only slightly worse than the pictures I took as a kid that included my fingers.

This gem is from 2010 on the Jenna Cole FB page. (Not the Jenna Cole Photography page, but the Jenna Cole persona FB page that I guess was made to go along with the JC Photography page.)

I can't be sure but this may be an engagement photo shoot. Barbed wire and tall fence being a subtle dig at matrimonial commitment maybe? The guy kind of looks like he's making a fist as he's attempting to get the lady to back up into the gated area.  I also have questions about the white cupboard/chest thing in the background. And why is there a light on inside the building? In the end the smile on her face suggests that they are just goofing around and that this is not a still from a snuff film. (Which is good because those shoes she's wearing would not be good to run like hell in.)

Today's photo on TW IG gives us an insight into the profit margin/ earning capacity of Jenna Cole Photography.

She's put up a photo of T2 with the heartwarming caption:

My girl. She won't be 2/3/4 forever* (I said this a lot with T1 too). Her favorite game right now is to switch names with other people and pretend to be Mama or Brother or Daddy.**

*I can just hear Jenna saying to herself "How old is she again?"

** Just like Jenna who likes to sprentend to be a professional working woman, photographer and feminist – right up until there is any effort involved.

Her long-time friend comments:

L- and I need to fly you out in the spring. Need pics of new baby girl Sutton and Grey Mars!

So that explains the revenue of Jenna Cole Photography.  Some of her friends are crazy enough to fly her across the country for a few bad photos.

Jenna's response:

yesssss! It's a date (that video him walking just about killed me when I saw it on Facebook. He's a toddler, not a baby now!

She's got a better sense of the age of her friend's kid than her own children.

I'm still making my way through an older thread and in it, someone posted a link to some of her older digital stuff on her Jenna Cole Photography blog. You know what? Some of it is actually pretty good (some of it's shit – so she was a bit hit-and-miss even with digital, but enough of it was good enough to be getting sufficient client work.)

I really think it was when she decided to make the switch to film (but without actually spending any real time learning properly how it works, not just from workshops) that she dropped the ball with her photography. She could have kept using digital with clients until she was better at film, and then use film when she had the skills with it.

The real reason Jenna might have succeeded as a digital photographer, doesn't do well in film, but will never make a passable programmer? If you have unlimited money to blow, "spray and pray" can still sort of be a thing in film photography, but definitely isn't a thing in programming.

That's really all it ever was. Even her "advice" about photography came down to shutter priority mode IIRC. She takes a lot of exposures, sometimes they look okay, usually they look like shit, and she can't tell the difference. She had a way better chance in digital because it's a small fraction of a cent per exposure instead of a couple bucks.
