I am getting ready to start a web development bootcamp soon, and reading That Wife has been sort of discouraging. Many of the things she talked about like "sitting and fiddling with CSS" I think, well I know how to do that now, I don't need to spend over $10,000 learning it. Also, when she acts like she is such a pioneer going into this field as a woman. Yeah, there are more men in this field, but there are lots of women too. The development bootcamp I will be attending has 30%-40% women, not exactly a miniscule amount.

When I looked at Jenna's LinkedIn profile, I also saw the one for her female partner on Accountabuddy. They both had Accountabuddy on their profile but this other woman also had some coding achievements from before DBC. So this is an example of Jenna's direct competition – the ladycoder who has completed exactly the same course to follow a similar career path.

Her summary: I have been fascinated by the power of code ever since I took a Python course during my biology studies at UCLA. It was my first exposure to programming, an avenue through which I could visualize the research I had previously done. This experience led me to pursue a career in tech and enroll in Dev Bootcamp. With my newly acquired skills, I am eager to build innovative solutions as a software developer.

Her other project:

We used Python and Rstudio to gather data from the IUCN Redlist of endangered species. Using this data, we learned ggplot and other packages to map the geographical locations of Felidae species from least to most vulnerable in terms of endangerment. The purpose of this project was to connect programming with biology and to create a visualization of some sort using Python and R.

Didn't you go to a $13,000 bootcamp to get a coding job? You talked about getting a job in tech for MONTHS and it was your #1 priority and goal to pass the bootcamp and get a job. I thought you LOVED coding?

Was that a comment on the green dress head shot? Yeah, it's gone! And I love how she thinks that getting someone else to take her photo shows off HER artsy side!

For Jenna, everything she claims to be good at can be validated by the right photo – she wants to prove to the haterzzz that she's a good mother, she takes a photo with the kids; wants to prove she's a good coder, she doesn't practice her code, she takes a photo of herself in a supposedly professional pose.

Her true passion is posing for photos, so I'm asking AGAIN why doesn't she sign up for one of those modelling agencies that wants models for catalogues etc (I'm not talking catwalk or Milan fashion show here). She could have the fun of posing and dressing up all day and being photographed – then she could brag to the world on Instagram when her photo is picked for the latest Target catalog.

If the only thing she wants to do is pose for photos, then that is the career she should pursue. Even if she screws up every shoot with her stupid faces and her insistence on wearing her own thrifted outfits rather than the promoted clothes, she'd still have more fun (and probably earn slightly more money/ burn less money) than as photographer/ coder etc. Less face it, her entire photography career is a front for her self-obsession with her own image. There aren't enough cameras in the world to cover that ego.

Who would hire her as a model, though?  She'd need the same discipline she'd need to have in any career (which is why she doesn't have a career – she is utterly undisciplined).  She'd have to be on time, take direction, do it someone else's way.  She wouldn't make it a day.

Love the automated message that pops up: jennaandersen.com is currently unable to handle that request.

She should keep that as her new business slogan.

I wonder if this means she's about to dazzle us with an exciting new career announcement – requiring a new website and two or three more IG accounts of course.

Is it too late for her to run for president? That would chew up lots of TH's money, get her lots of attention and child-free time, and open up that dialogue we're not having about why can't women be world leaders too?
