18 y/o vegan blogger I found while hate reading Freelee…

I don't know about her… Seems genuine, but then I get the feeling that her genuinity is flakey. She is ridiculously skinny but keeps going on about eating clean to help tone her already toned body. She deletes videos like crazy and one I remember she was in a bikini in front of a mirror casually looking like a VS model and talking about how her body isn't at it optimum. She shills Dr. McDougall's Maximum Weight Loss book despite being 5'11 and 131 pounds (I know this because in some video she said she list 8lbs in 2 weeks just from going on daily runs).

Basically she only ever talks about her body, how to have a skinny body, how to stay slim, and basically it seems like her understanding of health is thin=healthy

Since she dropped out of school and broke up with her BF to become a world traveling model, her videos are so cringe-inducing. I'm like, Girl, you do not need to broadcast all your 18-year-old deep thoughts about making new friends and getting to know boys and omg I'm on a boat! to all of YouTube. She reminds me of myself at that age (except the part where she's gorgeous and sort of naive and I was a cynic and complete dork.) I think, if she doesn't become a Freelee-style train wreck, she will look back and be mortified that she shared every little insecurity with the world.

I don't know, I'm still getting a really immature/slightly unhinged vibe from her. Quit social media if you want, people do it every day. You don't have to dramatically flounce away and start a website about it. I mean, it's great that she's talking about the business side of it, maybe that will help some young girls who somehow still don't understand that even models don't look perfect all the time and that influencers get paid for social media posts. And I do commend her for recognizing that her whole "career" is nothing but her looks. And yet, she would be getting zero attention for this flounce if it weren't for her looks, so. I think plenty of young people get into a job/source of income that they later realize is unhealthy for them, or they find it immoral, and so they make a change, no big deal. She's hardly as special as she seems to think she is. She's on YouTube asking for donations now. What? Get a freaking job like everyone else who can't make money for being pretty in a picture. I wonder if she'll look back soon and realize the best and most practical thing would have been to use her "fame" to promote causes she really believes in, rather than give up social media and have to slink back in a year to say "Oh whoops this wasn't actually my last post."

Was sort of impressed until I saw another teenager from a comfortable life claiming not to need money, confusing giving up luxuries with not needing money. She should just go to college and join all the freshman who think they are the first to have ideals. It's sort of a rite of passage, isn't it?

I think it's really refreshing, and as a mid-to-late twenty-something whose 18 year old ideals have only strengthened, I like her. She may come from a well-off family, but she's giving up $4k/post and being "famous". I am friends with a former blogger who really struggled to give it up as an adult, so for an 18 year old to do so? Kudos. I'm interested to see what she does next.

I hate to say it, but this whole thing just seems like a publicity stunt. She found a way to go viral, and is running with it.

Fascinated by this.

If it's genuine, it reminds of the second episode of Black Mirror, when the main character tries to dramatically disrupt the reality-TV/surveillance cycle by threatening suicide (right? it's been a while) only to have the system adapt and him be subsumed back into it.

If it's not genuine, she just leveled up in the it-girl branding game.

I think it's genuine (not like I'd know really tho) but that she's not fully let go of the attention at all really. I feel like what she's going through is very normal…all the doubts, not happy despite having a lot, etc.

It appears to me she does mean to leave her "look at me" social media ways behind. What I don't get is … wait, what? If she made so much money doing it then why doesn't she have enough for rent this month? Close to real but no.

It's so ironic how she griped about being so social media obsessed that even half a million followers didn't feel like enough to her and now that her story has gone viral she's gained 100k in one day. No doubt she will reach one million by the end of the week. It's so funny how she says she "quit" Instagram yet her profile still exists. It shows that she wants people to follow her, just now on her new site. But she knows no one will go on there unless she leaves her Instagram redirecting them there.

Agreed.

At first, I thought it was refreshing to see someone just give it all up and show everyone 'nehind the image'. But then there's the new website and 'sign up for the newsletter for extra sevret stuff'.

It's too fishy, she's gaining even more attention from doing this. chin
