I got married a year and a half ago and I have to say SMP had so many great tips and ideas. I don't know why poeple hate on these wedding sites..Jealous much?
always with the jealous. People come to gomi to talk about what they like and dislike about trends, websites, bloggers, ect. These are just peoples opinions and just because they arn't happy and fluffy and full of rainbows it doesnt mean they are less valid. You like SMP. It gave you ideas and inspiration and that's great. Other people may not be into the same stuff and THATS OK. You have your opinion and others have thiers. Give up on the constant "you don't like it, you must just be jealous" it's old.

Has anyone ever entered a giveaway on SMP? I entered the Suja juice giveaway (SSSF, so wanting to try the juices for free), and thought I actually might have a chance since there were only 200 something entries. They said a winner would be announced on July 4, and when they didn't announce one for a few days I posted a comment asking about it and emailed them too. They responded to my email, saying that they moved the date to July 11 because of the holiday weekend and said they were "crossing their fingers for me!" They then updated the date on the page to July 11, which seems suspicious already because they had continued to post over the July 4 weekend and are they really allowed to leave a contest open longer like that? Now it's July 14 and still no winners…I looked up a few other recent giveaways and it doesn't seem like the posted winners for those either.
I poked around a bit to see if I could find the laws and regulations about blog giveaways but I couldn't find anything conclusive. Is this against any of the FTC or FCC regulations? It seems pretty sketchy to me.
I'm a sucker for SMP …but I'm newly engaged and probably just overall giddy about the whole thing. I like it for general ideas (to find what I like/don't like as far as hairstyles, flowers, etc).
But ENOUGH with the f**king theme weddings. I seriously don't understand that AT ALL. No Hunger Games or Gatsby for me please. I feel like I saw one on SMP or elsewhere when the new Snow White was out too, like featuring the dark Queen or whatever.
Wedding means a lot to a woman .
So let's just dress like any style we like .

The point to Style the Bride Pretty is to choose dresses, hairstyle and makeup that fits her. No matter what the trending color or style is of the moment, choose something that fit the bride and harmonize everything in a whole.

As a wedding vendor, SMP is my least favorite blog. In my experience, they're extremely arrogant and it's known in the industry that they play favorites. The number of posts in a day is ridiculous too – our work gets featured for maybe 30 minutes before it's pushed down. And the person asking if the rates are worth it – every area is different, based on demand, but last time I checked it was $1,000 in California for LBB. Absolutely ridiculous.
In defense of styled shoots – I know a lot of people outside of the industry don't really get them, but they are our chance to create trends and show off our original work. Inspired shoots keep the blogs from featuring the same things over and over again (even though it seems like SMP does). I just know that I STILL get asked for mason jars and burlap, so I need some way to keep myself sane and my work fresh.
