At the risk of feeding the literally insane ego of an icky dude, here's another tampon classic–with a twist. All of xojane is just a variation on a theme. The theme of not being able to tampon.

The snarky comments on that one are on point and actually made me chuckle. Speaking of, I also love:

We have a mutual fb friend scared

Eta: omg. Did anyone see the way she talked to a friend who tried to help her with her ankle?? WTF

Are you talking about the one where a friend researched cheaper ways she could get to the doctor and Aaaminah replied with "No, actually I am very aware of the local services and your advice was not only unwarranted but also incorrect. Thank you."

@skeptical duckface I think it has something to do with her size coupled with the fact that apparently the railing to the stair to her apartment is unsafe? idontknowidontknowidontknow

Call me motherf**king Alice because I've fallen into this rabbit hole like goddamn someone save me. I'm putting on Grandfathered and cooking dinner crycrycry

YES.  I was all….

I want all her vagina yarn paintings in every room of my house. My bday was a few weeks ago but I'll still accept your vagina painting presents.

re: earthquake humor. That was an epic S.E. piece indeed. I can picture her in her quaint rustic cabin smugly typing away angrily about what she hates each week. It embarrasses me.

The Islamic miscarriage lady

http://www.xojane.com/it-happened-to-me/pregnancy-after-tubes-tied

Sometimes I go back and read the comments again for kicks. She is legit insane.

Lots of others too, the Demisexual one was pretty bad. Also s.e. Smith's disability piece on actors:

http://www.xojane.com/issues/cake-still-alice-cripface-oscars

Good thread.

Sssssooooo her comments were making me eekeekeek so I searched on fb for her for shits and giggles.

Holy.

Motherf**king.

Shit.

I had completely forgotten about this post, which has EVERYTHING:

-Pregnancy and miscarriages

-Foggy timeline and partners

-People not accepting her ~truth~

-Miscarriage as a form of birth control

-Homelessness

-Racism and sexual orientation shaming

-Jailed partner

-Magically conceiving another child while partner is jailed

-Boss calling her partner to let him know she's in the ER (why is her boss her next-of-kin/person to call in case of emergency???)

-Abusive second partner

-Comments that just keep on giving

Also fun: seeing what comments I had already upvoted and downvoted back then.

This one might be my favorite. It reminds me of majestic goddesses, just like Aaminah herself. So fertile, so exotic. /s

How does this even go with Islam…? I mean, I know not all Muslims have women cover their faces – but these seems pretty extreme for a rather conservative religion (as does being a queer Muslim?) Woman seems a walking contradiction. I admit I went waaaay down this rabbit hole as I came in late to the XO game, and GOMI, but it's been a fun ride!

I don't think she is really half the identities she professes (queer, Islam, disabled, POC) it is all sort of a mishmash of oppression and victimhood. I think it has to do with having a personality disorder. Not that someone can't be a modern Muslim, or even pass as white while being Native blah blah blah but this lady lays it on so thick. I can't look away. The comments on that article about her miscarriage were epic. She wrote a follow up somewhere too:

http://aaminahshakur.tumblr.com/post/102295670645/writing-your-story-what-the-internet-taught-me

an excerpt: "Be really secure about your story and how you have told it. Make sure you had someone with an eye for detail look it over for typos, inconsistencies, flow, and generally good writing. That way when the inevitable “this writing sucks so bad!” comment comes, you know that it is just an opinion, and likely the opinion of someone who couldn’t find anything nice to say because of their own issues. Among other things, I was told that the piece didn’t flow or make sense, that it seemed to be jumping back and forth in time. In fact, it was written in a straight-forward and intentionally linear fashion, and had been reviewed by two people prior to submission who did not have an issue with the flow. Other people contacted me elsewhere to say that they thought it flowed well and was easy to understand. While we should learn from critiques, it is also important to know when a critique is legitimate."

She honestly believes that the piece was not inconsistent and it flowed really well. The narcissism is strong with this one. #delusionalartisttrainwreck

OMG Aaminah Shakur. I have a tiny FB overlap with her and every time I see a comment from her pop up I cannot help but roll my eyes.  She's a human sad trombone. Everything is the worst, everything is horrible, no one is as oppressed as she is, wah wah wah. *sad trombone noise*

cornchips, your post makes me think about just how many SJW-ish women I know claim identities as queer and disabled, even though their relationships are all with men and their disabilities are rather vague. My inclination is not to question how people self-identify, but I can't help but catch more than a whiff of Rachel Dolezal off a whole bunch of these people.

Ugh, how did so much of modern feminism/civil rights/social justice come to be dominated by a bunch of fragile, misanthropic shut-ins who do nothing but bang away on their keyboards all day long? (Actually I think I just answered my own question…)

Haha, you sound like me. I'm a strident feminist and I cannot stand so many of the Amber Sarah's and Aaminah Shakur types that get so much attention. Yes, the queer and disabled terms are always so vague. It isn't enough to be a middle class white lady who prefers men these days. I think it is a reaction to the fact that American culture is so accepting of LGBT people, etc. now and so some people push past that to bravely claim new and oppressed identities. Now that you mention it Aaminah is a lot like Rachel Dolezal, except the poor man's version. She doesn't have any major political/activist affiliations besides selling yarn vaginas and whining.

cornchips – I'm guessing that there are a lot of hardcore feminists like us who roll our eyes at the Amber Sarahs and Aaminah Shakurs of the online-social justice world.  It's just that it's not politically correct to say women like that are full of shit, so we keep it to ourselves.
