If Not Tall and Hugo Schwyzer could have a child, it would be Neil Klugman. He's a greasy ball of smug, sanctimonious white-knightey bullshit.

f**k NEIL KLUGMAN. I'm going to start flagging him every time I see him.

I just clicked on his Disqus so I could find that stupid comment ^ and remembered that his username used to be Anthony Schram – his Disqus name is still @anthonyschram. "Neil Klugman" is a character by Philip Roth, one of the greatest penises of literature. f**k him so much.

And of course Webby upvoted him. angrypuke

He can always be found swirling around a commenter or author being confronted with their bullshit. It's such a blatant attempt at ingratiating himself.

That said, Rasping's story is full of inconsistencies and I don't believe a word of it. If people want to call her out after listening to her brag/vent for two years, they should be able to. The only thing she's concerned about is getting her money back, which is extremely suspect given the situation as she has told it. These idiots think the open thread is some safe space where they can weave tall tales and nobody can question the gaping holes in their stories.

I take parking chances. It feels punk rock and so sly. I'm not sorry about it.

Ugh. NO. It's not sly or "punk rock." It's asshole.  Just asshole.

Jane, there are like a dozen xojane commenters who monopolize the comments with snark and fake moral superiority, saying they're just offering criticism to the writers and editors when it's actually far meaner and personally insulting than that, and it is ruining what was once an awesome place to read and talk to others. I do not envy xojane writers and editors who basically have internet bullies following them around from article to article just because how dare they write an article or be an editor and not do it perfectly. I typically stay out of the comments because of this too because any time someone is like "you're being rude" they get written off as a white night (sarcastically) or a friend of the author or the author themselves because it's apparently impossible that anyone would think the way they pile on isn't anything but deserved and definitely not crossing a line. I kind of hope that group of commenters have jobs where someone anonymously insults them with no remorse and where if they try to respond in any way they are just insulted more. But I'm guessing those commenters either don't have jobs or have really boring ones if they can spend so much time commenting, which means they're probably envious of people who get paid to write. I know there's a running $50 joke but they don't get any money for the thousands of words they write in the comments. They are really just here to be horrible to other people.

Anyway Jane, if you read this please know that there are longtime readers who really want this to change. It doesn't have be a community where everyone kisses each other's asses but just like there's no place for bigotry here (I echo the sentiment that Trista should be let go or at least should apologize) there is no place for bullies here either. Please don't let them believe they are the ones in control of this community. You can bring back more positivity and respect and probably get even more readers if the reputation of the commenters changes.

By the way have you ever considered switching to Facebook comments so commenters can't be anonymous? When people's names show they are less likely to be bullying and more likely to be respectful. Commenters choose to speak on the internet just like authors do, so if authors show their names, shouldn't commenters show theirs? Just an idea. (By the way I know my discus handle and avatar make me anonymous but out of fairness I will say my name is Grace Carter.)

I hope you see this and I thank you for listening if you do.

Is there an emoticon of a smiley face making the jerk off motion?

Good lord, Jane's cup of tea with eight f**king teabags in it and the bulb of fennel eaten like an apple are the most disordered "meals" I've seen in a minute.

Guess who popped up in the OT? Velveteen Rabbit, or MyGalFriday. Apparently she's sober again and moving to Boston.

I just need to vent briefly about how much Jane's Open Thread titles make me want to vomit and, like, kill myself. f**king gag me with a spoon. It's really disgusting snowflakey nasty bullshit. Saccharine and puerile and condescending and THIS WOMAN MUST BE STOPPED.

Literally looks like a troll doll.
