I do think their marriage was on the rocks and probably still is. Most if not all of us noticed that Sherri basically had zero engagement with her family. I don't know how she is filling her answering comment time now, but I seriously doubt she woke up one day and started performing like a normal human being. I think her couch surfing was calculated, I think she probably got really used to John doing everything and her not having responsibilities.

Well they pop up from time to time – I passed Sherry by in an, um, inspiring article on realsimpledotcom called "How to Create the Ultimate Easter Basket", handing out tips with what to fill your 10 bucks easter-paint-can with craft supplies for the young house artist. (Yes! Artsy stuff! This is such an surprise! I know, i know.)

Although I found the tip from another whatever to use a Kånken mini backpack (~60 bucks) as an basket to be far more offensive. (So, Sherry had one of the better ideas. Really. o.O)

Not quite sure what they get out of those mentions, besides publicity. Presumably nothing financial.

Just noticed this pop up today as I was browsing Yahoo. I actually wanted to read it for tips and then realized they asked Sherry for ideas. Nope.

Is this realsimple post new?

Good to see Sherdog broadening her horizons past pom-poms and faux artiste like things eek

Nothing has changed. At all.

3. Stuff a clear paint can full of craft supplies like pom-poms, paint, and pipe cleaners. It’s a fun, unique idea that’s perfect for a little artist, says Sherry Petersik, Richmond-based blogger and author ofYoung House Love.

But…she's not a Richmond-based blogger anymore. confused Is being a blogger somehow different from everything else? I wouldn't say I'm DotCom, pet store manager just because I used to manage a pet store years ago.

I actually think a paint can filled with paints, markers, crayons, etc. is a great idea for an Easter basket.   A helluva lot better than the moron who suggested filling a basket with washi tape.

But… my issue is why was she even asked to contribute to this article?  IMO, she is no longer relevant as a blogger when the blog is shuttered.  I don't think she should have been credited as a blogger.  Author… maybe… since they have one book under their belt and another supposedly coming out.

Eh… so much disgust for these two.

Agree with all the hamcats who said they could be thinking that after their dramatic break that everyone will welcome them back to catch up…and who knows, maybe their crazed fangirls will! I'm also agreeing with the idea of them fixing up the house to get attention. But based on their previous vision for the house, ugh wtf? I'd like to show up at a book event just to ask them how they could piss away the opportunity of a lifetime? sangry

Wait a minute, me coming to one of their book signings? Aw hell no!

Maybe the publisher has a publicist working on getting them a little press or they are working their connections to get some mentions.

The come back is starting…

What's ridiculous is that I fully expected the first response from SB to be "we're taking some time away… please respect our decision." yeah, until you realized that no one is clamoring at your door anymore then please, by all means, give advice on all kinds of shit.

I work with media and usually these stories are done months in advance of deadline – even for online – so I'm sure this was done in 2014 or January. Hell, one of my articles is just now coming out in print and it was done in late January.

My continual issue with J&SB is that they couldn't figure out quality over quantity and find a balance between 10 shitty posts/week and one really stellar post a week. It's all or nothing with them but we're supposed to feel what exactly? Sorry? Understanding? when they do nothing and still expect a payday?

newhere Coming out of the woodwork for my first post haha (hi, everyone!)….that waybackmachine hit was actually me searching for other hits. That's the day and time I searched and it had told me there were no hits on that link at that time. Sorry to throw you off! I have no idea when it was actually published…

Also, I love that there is some chatter in the YHL boards again. I miss all the snark!

I really want to know why they shut that blog down with a book coming out. It doesn't make any sense, unless there's a missing piece to this story.

This is exactly what I think. Dun Dun Dun.
