I haven't read the entire article yet ,but its pretty long and I wondered if it needed it's own thread because it talks about what  happened when they "quit" and seems to be filled with whiny self righteousness.

Let the snark begin!

Interesting article, but I don't feel like it added much new information. Except that Sherry and Jon use expletives. I think they will come back though. And no matter how hard Sherry tries to make it seem like she wanted to give it up, I will never believe it.

OMG, this is ridiculous. How have they STILL not owned their f**king choices after all this time?

Case in point:

the Petersiks were regularly working a second shift after Clara’s bedtime and throughout weekends and vacations. Family outings had to include something “bloggable,” like a stop at an antique store. Each holiday required fresh seasonal content. The Petersiks were also picking up all those side projects that felt like huge wins, but required a tremendous amount of additional work. They admit the blog made money “a nonissue” in its final years. “For a long time, we thought we were doing okay if we could duplicate our salaries from our old advertising jobs; then it got to the point where we could bring in much more,” says Sherry. “But I kept saying, ‘I don’t want more money, I want more time.’” She’d spend school field trips sneaking onto her phone to respond to comments from the zoo or the aquarium. “I felt like any day where I was being a great blogger, I was being a bad mom and vice versa,” Sherry says. She and John both worried that their marriage was being reduced to “essentially co-workers.” By this time, the Petersiks had entertained — and refused — at least 50 offers from reality-TV-show producers, many of which were designed to play up their sex appeal.

They could have just disabled comments, but then Shurrybeff wouldn't have gotten her fix. She didn't have to be checking comments during a field trip, she chose to.sfun_nopitybye

I don't even know where to begin here. This all happened because the laundry room wasn't done and $B could not explain how the wood shelf would tie into clothespins?

They are such spoiled, entitled assholes.

They really didnt think anyone would recognized Klara Kardashian without them? And that bothered them? After practically giving us all directions to her preschool and the hours she goes?

$B was posting from field trips? B***h, please. We know your ass never left that Karl.

They do own it.

“We did this,” says Sherry and gets a little teary when she says it. “We put ourselves on the public stage, and then we realized it wasn’t where we wanted to be.”

The article gives insight into the fact that they are smarter and more thoughtful that they often get credit for around here.

They were so much younger when this all started and the article shows that.. The comment about Clara — so many of us who are a little older than them worried about how they exposed her. Sherry says she worries about that now.

Good piece. Great to know they are doing well.

I think it's ironic that the very things they are saying and showing concern about are almost word-for-word things that we all said right here on GOMI, and yet GOMI is labeled as a "hate" website.

They worry about privacy yet all the photos in the article are of the children and house. Lol. Never change, John and Sherry.

I have to disagree that they've learned their lesson about overexposing Klara and Pageclick$. A good majority of the posts they made after they "quit" were pics of the kids and Teddy is getting the same kind of exposure Klara did. Their kids are clickbait, and they know it, and they exploit it.

Why post any pics of the kids now at all? To keep people engaged.

I do agree that the parallels between what they discussed and what we discuss are interesting.

The pictures in the article are all from before they quit blogging. Yes, they could have closed the IG accounts and/or refused to give NY Mag permission to use them – but they are all photos that were already public. And none show Clara's face.

They are showing her face on IG and FB, pics after they closed the blog. Teddy was in at least one pic when they were in Redbook Magazine after they closed the blog.

I have no idea why people would recognize their kids drool

And Klara has to wear shorts under dresses now….because?

Absent from the article is when $B posted a pic of a very sick Klara in the bathroom and it only came down because her fans  basically  shamed her into taking it  down. The fangirls care more about the kids' privacy than the Petersick$. Many told them their kids were overexposed. It has not stopped them.

Also, in the interest of more better privacy, the omgtraumaticbirthstory was linked in the article.

Why are they completely glossing over the fact that they invited this whole curtaingate shitstorm by ASKING for feedback? This article makes it seem like Sherry did nothing more than apologize for not posting and then got bludgeoned in the comments.

Also, while it was definitely an interesting read, I saw little more than shameless and calculated plugging going on. The dropped "hint" about having sold that awful table? Really? I thought they were better than that.

bye
