This thread is really making me notice how crappy their photographs really are.  Normally I don't notice it at all when there's nothing to compare the photos to apart from their other photos, but seeing them next to better quality pictures really makes them look shoddy.  I don't know anything about photography, but if I was making a living by publishing photographs for people to look at, I'm fairly sure I'd have learnt to take a decent photo within a couple of years… confuused

Reading this thread makes me wonder how they've kept the blog going as long as they have.

Or, how about this. Remember when SB was so inspired by the Real Simple magazine quote- and-photo page of the month that she went and found a great quote of her own that spoke to her and a photo she took herself of an important moment in her life and then wrote the quote in beautiful script over the photo and made her own frame out of driftwood for it? No? Well, how about when she was so inspired by the Real Simple magazine quote-and-photo page that she…ripped it out of the magazine and stuck it in an old frame John had from college?

Now we're talking. This is from the good ole days, back in 2009:

Just had to share the latest little addition to our desk. While browsing Real Simple magazine, I was struck by one of their “inspirational quotes”- so struck that I actually tore it out. Then I found an old frame leftover from John’s college years in our “decor store” (a kitchen cabinet where we store lots of vases, frames, candles, and other home accents for easy rotation whenever the mood strikes- it’s like shopping at home) and popped the magazine cut-out inside:

Um, nailed it? Because you, too, can aspire to be a 13-year-old girl.

Gah – I remember them talking about their "decor store" back in H1 and thought it was kinda strange. I'm just not a big horder of random "stuff" that clutters up my house. Seems like now in 2014 they are still the same people – they've just gotten bigger and crazier and now have a whole "decor store" in their upstairs attic space.

Considering how many yard sales and good-will donation runs these two talk about it's amazing they still have so much junk/crap.
