Half Baked Harvest

Apparently this is the kind of writing that earns you 100K?!? <From the rice krispie treat pancake postpuke>

I honestly do not know what has gotten into me.

I take that back, I know exactly what has gotten into me.

LIFE.

Right now my life is completely awesome, but also completely crazy all at the same time. It’s a good crazy, but it is still crazy, and my Sunday night/very early Monday morning was no fun.

WHAT are you talking about exactly?  Pick a lane.

Until my slap happy brain decided that I had the energy (and time) to go for my early morning hike. And this is where the Rice Kirspie Treat Pancake was born. At first I went back and forth in my head about whether or not I should make them. What would people think? Is it a gross idea? Too little-kidish?

I spent about an hour debating. Yes, an hour. I do this all the time. My brain needs some serious help.

Right.  So for a task required for your six figure job, you spent a mere HOUR thinking.  And you find this extraordinary/strange/a sign you need help?

I just can't…

I just can't…

It's llke high school.  The really pretty, popular girls get all the perks, adoration and attention.  In the food blog/food media world, the blogs with the pretty photos get all the perks, adoration and attention.  Nobody cares about the writing (or the recipes, for that matter). Most fellow food bloggers don't even read the posts – just comment with "OMGAHH..looks amazing!"

This. This. This.  If my mancat read that excerpt, he would splode.

I try to find comfort in the fact that hopefully this is the equivalent to a 15 seconds of fame-type thing. I know, that doesn't really help. She's still making more money than she could possibly know what to do with (OH YEAH, BUILD A CUSTOM RESTORED BARN HOME! I HATE HER!) at 20 but hopefully anyone whose attention you would really want as a food professional will see right through it.

Maybe she'll finally get sued for plagiarism and lose it all. laugh

And YES to her "I've been cooking since…" GAH! GO AWAY! Sometimes I see her come up on my poor FB friends who think they need to "share to save" or on their pinterest and I'm filled with rage. I want to comment them and give them a million reasons not to support her.

Her writing sucks, she knows not of what she speaks, she spells BRAND NAMES wrong, and yet she's still wildly successful. She might be my biggest GOMI right now.  At least HSE has finally stopped linking to her.

I blame Pioneer Woman for starting the trend for pretty pictures above all, and Pinterest for amplifying it.  The food blog I really miss is Tigers and Strawberries.  It had everything I wanted in a food blog.

I'm confused. She makes six figured solely from Half Baked Harvest? Can anyone explain to me how this is possible?

It's a messed up world when someone who thinks "a lot" is spelled "alot" is making six figures. Why the f**k am I getting a real education?

Oh my gosh, how, howwwww? Seriously, can anyone remind me why I am receiving a college education? This is ridiculous. I feel like I work hard for nothing but the again, I love my profession, and I wouldn't change it for the world. I just find it a bit unfair. Maybe I should start my own blog for some side money.uh

Even the food styling is copied, and there are just so many more examples.  Are we the only ones who see this?

Sadly, yes. It gets to where you want to comment and be like "…did you even CONSIDER citing your source?" and then remembering that it would just get stuck in moderation and never see the light of day.

But she added lobster and swapped out a cheese or two!  Totally different and original!!!
