The names she uses on the blog are the kids real names, she doesn't use fake blog names. And Gus is short for Augustine.  She mentioned in a blog he is named after St. Augustine.

So the kids, in age order are:

John Paul nn. Jack

Elizabeth nn. Betty

Robert nn. Bobby

Augustine nn. Gus

Anita

Francis nn. Frankie

Louise nn. Lulu

Mary Jane

Its embarrassing how much I know about these people.  Sometimes I wonder what I would have accomplished in life if the internet had never been invented……

OMG! I had to go see it and my head is spinning. I wonder if she's spending time here? 😉 Too bad only one person was pretty insistent that kendra has money and makes that pretty obvious. And Kendra doesn't have cable or a smart phone but has a million dollar house and fancy clothes. Oh my goodness, she's so frustrating!

Kendra's privilege is so obvious on her recent Facebook posts but she's absolutely oblivious to how entitled and condescending she comes across.  Her reply that it's really all about prioritizing your money is rage stroke inducing.

As she carefully explains to all of us who are doing it wrong, if we didn't have cable. color our hair or have a smart phone, we too could have daily help.  As if the price of a box of color would pay for a housekeeper.

No Kendra you smug, snobbish, condescending, entitled twit, it's not just money management. It's being RICH and having a husband who makes a huge salary.  Normal people, especially those with large families, no matter how carefully they budget, cannot afford a $1M+ house with extensive renovations and full time help.

Did anyone see her post regarding her beloved housekeeper of 8 (!!) years not wanting to move with them and live in the garage apt.  Was Kendra planning on having live-in help?

Then she mentioned that her parents are moving into the apt. — So are they going to be the live-in help?

And this is so shallow I know, but her husband is creepy looking. His photos give off a weird vibe to me

I know! She's unbelievable!! And, she has all the fans telling her that she's doing it all right and people are just jealous. Sure, no phone and cable but she has a million dollar hours plus renovations, sends one kids to an expensive school, and buys nice clothes. So, it's not like she's sacrificing anything at all.

I really want to comment but it's public and I have friends that follow her. angry

It looks like she has no interest in her husband. He's only good for babies and big houses.

And then she had the nerve to suggest that NOT having a housekeeper would be a sin bc she's so talented at writing and art that the right thing to do is spend her time on her biz. So are women supposed to stay at home and care for family, or are they to work and hire out homekeeping? Wwjd?

" I think you make some really good points, and I think I (and my kids) really do benefit from doing stuff that I don't love doing as an act of service and as a personal mortification. But another part of this all is acknowledging that while I don't love housework, I DO love doing lots of other things, and some of those things I can make money doing. So if I LOVE spending time writing and doing graphic design and I can do that and make some extra money that I can then pay to someone to help me with the housework, then I not only may do that, but probably I have a responsibility to do it. Because maybe the person that I'd hire doesn't have the ability or inclination for the artistic pursuits that I have."

for frick's sake she didn't actually say that? she doesn't actually think that?

My mom worked and we had help some times a week (even though my dad stayed at home). Now they're both retired and have help almost every day because the woman who took care of my grandma was part of the family and needed a job after my grandma died. She was a doctor in her country for heaven's sake, she cleans cause she has to not because she doesn't have any other inclinations.

gross, kendra, tasteless and gross.

Kendra is willfully ignorant to her own privilege. She makes halfhearted attempts to acknowledge her privilege, but it's pretty clear that she thinks she has her life this way because of her own righteous actions and God blessing her as a result. Her arrogance is blocking her understanding.

I wish these fundie Catholics could see that you don't win a gold medal in heaven by having the most babies, or homeschooling, or writing the most posts decrying the evils of contraception. You don't actually get anything other than more babies and a smug sense of pride – and I'm fairly sure the latter is a sin anyway.

Be kind and teach your children to be kind. In the end, that matters so much more than being the most perfectest Catholic who ever Catholic-ed.

Hear hear, stopthepinkshorts!!!! If only Kendra could read that. smiley-happy096smiley-happy096

Oh who am I kidding. Her willful ignorance and, yes, her pride would make her dismiss your comment out right. Because only She. Is. Right (and righteous).

Kendra is a fundie Catholic, trying to impress us all with her ostentatious, public, outward display of piety and strict faithful adherence to every one of the Church's nuances.

And what is she teaching her children but the same ostentatious display of faith. That and her belief that Tierneys are So. Much. Better. than every one else because Tierneys are true faithful devout Catholics and the rest of us aren't.

What was that admonition again — the one about praying silently in your room, and the one about not being like the Pharisees who want the best of everything?

Maybe Kendra needs a refresher course.

As to her latest FB post, here's a hint:   If your biggest problem in life is figuring out how to reuse the knobs and pulls from the "original servants' kitchen and butler's pantry" in your new mansion, you are officially #richpeopleproblems.

And the earlier post where she blamed most people's inability to hire housekeepers etc. on a "pioneer mentality"— OMG.    All the kudos to the one poster who kept trying to inject a dose of reality—that "prioritizing" your money and not eating out a lot is not going to add up to the funds to buy and staff a bona fide mansion and estate.

She is so out of touch.  And so classically Kendra to attribute her good fortune not to being married to a guy that makes bank—because let's be real, here—–but to her own virtue and sacrifice!   She's the prototypical "born on third base and thinks she hit a triple."

yes, first world rich girl problems. Just throw them out and start fresh. I get the impression she's trying to design this house to be noticed by the internet and get famous for it….not necessarily for her or her family's own interests. Does her husband really want some crazy wallpaper and weird floor?!
