Part of it is because I'm borderline obsessed with LDS, FLDS, and the "normal" FLDS. Part of it is because I love bad reality TV.

I just think it's funny how different all the wives are – besides loving him, I can't see a common thread between them.

You've got Meri, the 1st wife, who is a typical suburban mom type…but she couldn't have more kids.

Enter Janelle, who can pop those suckers out like crazy, plus she's got a good head on her shoulders – she balances the family budget, does all the bills, and is generally the "business manager" of the family….but she's not the most fun, and she and Meri don't get along.

Enter Christine: she's a fun loving, slightly immature lady who can have lots of babies, and she's hot…until she has lots of babies….

So, here comes Robyn, who despite her baggage from her previous marriage, is a great, young, fresh face (which obviously threatens Christine because that used to be her role), and she's got a hot body.

I love it too, I'm embarrassed to say. It's fascinating! And it raises so many more questions than it ever answers…

How can they possibly afford to feel and cloth all of those people, and to buy FOUR big new houses? What do you think about how they divide their money (dividing the funds "by family" as opposed to "per person"), and all the conflict that seems to have created?

Do you think any of the wives would ever leave? I think the only one who would or even could might be Janelle.

What did you think of the Darger family in the last episode? I found them really fascinating. They seemed like a well oiled machine compared to Kody's brood.

I recently got sucked into this show too.  Kody is the biggest douchecanoe I have ever seen and what an ego!

I screamed at the tv when Meri had to add a fifth bedroom for her two (plus the douche when he is there) person house so she could get her precious "wet bar".

For fun, visit the Sister Wives' website and see the ridiculous jewelry they are peddling to support  their four house lifestyle.

I would describe none of those women as hot. Christine reminds me of That Wife.

I can't stop watching either, it's like a train wreck. Meri on the verge of tears over french doors, Kody calling Christine fat on national TV….they're all just insufferable. They all hate each other so much and it's very apparent. Yet I continue to watch…

SO FURIOUS. If you're in dire straits and your supposed "sister" wives have large families to support that require re$ource$, you're craft room or wet bar is not a necessity. And neither was her renting that big house. But she blabbercries about fertility issues when Janelle calls her out on it. Grow up woman, you have one teenage daughter who will be leaving for college soon. Move in with the rest of your "family" or get a smaller house. It came down to this big argument about what she did or didn't deserve, and her desires. Woonderful, except that's not reality. If you're truly having financial difficulty, then you put that shit aside. I can't believe how petty she was. I'd also hate to be her daughter — she makes it so clear she wanted more children, how can the one daughter she did have ever feel wanted?

I really just think they all hate each other and want to pretend their singly married to Kody in their separate houses and that he's out on business or something when he's not in their home. Not healthy at all.

Oh no, I don't think any of them are hot (well, I think Robyn is pretty, but not hot). I meant Christine who was "hot" back when she and Kody first met (now…not so much).

I have mixed feelings about the budgeting. On the one hand, I understand the point that Meri shouldn't always get "less" just because she has only one child. On the other hand, when it comes to budgeting for things like food and houses, why shouldn't the budget go according to needs? I know that deciding "needs" can be a tricky process, but if all you're doing is counting kids, it seems pretty straightforward and fair to me. If I were Meri, I would definitely feel embarrassed about having more than 3 bedrooms in my house.

But then again, if their income comes from the jewelry business and the TV show, and Meri makes an equal contribution to those things, then why shouldn't she get an equal share of the budget?

OK, I just spent more time thinking about the sister wives' finances than I did about anything else today, so… ugh.

None of the wives is a great beauty or anything, but I think they were all relatively attractive when they were young. Meri was quite thin, too, whereas Christine and Janelle have always been a bit meaty. Sometimes I think Robyn is pretty, and sometimes I think she's not attractive at all. She definitely has her good and bad angles.

Yes, Kody is such a douche. I think there are some anger issues hiding behind that creepy laugh, too. And I can't tell if he's dumb, or just emotionally unintelligent.

As for Meri, I agree that she's going way too far with the wet bar, 5 bedrooms, french doors, and semi-joking tennis court. I wonder if it's her desperate attempt to hang onto her "first wife" status, to somehow maintain an upper hand. The fertility issues are sad, and I don't think she should get less for not being able to have more kids; but nor do I think she should get more! I don't understand why they don't divide funds per person. In effect, Meri and her daughter are much richer than any of the other wives and their kids. If they all entered into the "marriage" with equality in mind, and with the understanding that they would all have as many kids as they wanted, then shouldn't they all get the same amount of money per kid? I don't get it.

I seriously couldn't BELIVE the conversation between Meri and her daughter where her daughter basically called her a bad mom for not letting one of the other wives carry more kids for her.  Sorry to be catty, but Meri's make-up is THE WORST.  I feel like I can literally see it cracking when they do close ups.

And yes yes yes to whomever said that Christine doesn't like Robyn because she's taken over as the pretty, fun wife that Christine used to be.  And Janelle and Robyn win as being the most sensible wives by far.

I really struggled with whether or not they "didn't know" what was happening within the Warren Jeffs community.  I will say, I thought that was a fantastic episode, at the very least for showing how they are extremely different from fundamentalist Mormons.  I'm a little confused about their religious views, as I thought fundamentalist Mormons were the only ones still practicing polygamy (but clearly they and the Dargers are not fundamentalist Mormons).  How many other Mormons are more modern in most ways but still practice polygamy?  Is it a substantial number?

I don't think it's standard for polygamists to be as modernized as the Browns are, I have one  Mormon friend and she can't even read reviews on Sister Wives because she gets so raged about the fact that they could influence people into thinking that all Mormons are polygamist.

I was really excited when this show aired because I think as long as it's consensual, then who cares? But as the show progressed I found myself getting angry at it, much like you guys I was disgusted by Meri's need for an equal amount of space. I stopped watching last season, so I had no idea about the 5 rooms, pool and wet bar, or the daughter drama with the surrogacy proposal from Robyn. While I can respect the theory behind each wife getting an equal amount of everything it seems a bit contradictory. I mean, isn't the belief that they grow stronger together? They are building themselves up to spend eternity together, surely they can share a house.

Who are the Dargers?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Codi is a douche, I also think he's a closeted homosexual. My Mormon friend even agree with me, she said that she believes most of the modern polygamist husbands are closeted homosexuals.

Codi's the main reason why I stopped watching the show, I know they keep saying that they are happy, but it really doesn't seem like it. Oddly enough I don't think their unhappiness is a result of polygamy…I think Codi is just that much of a douche.

One thing that constantly drives me crazy is Kody (Cody?) with his sports car. He's like a 17 year old boy in so many ways, and that car is just one. Dude, you've got four wives and, what, 17 kids? You do not need a sports car. Trade that sucker in for a 15 passenger minivan.

The Dargers are another polygamous family that went on vacation with the Browns a couple episodes back. They were a much more articulate about their beliefs and lifestyle than the Browns have been. I just googled and it looks like they have a website, and a book out: http://lovetimesthree.com/love-times-three-the-book/  … they were interesting because they appeared as more of *one* family unit (all live under the same roof, not afraid to show affection in front of one another, eat dinners as one big family, drive big vans all together instead of splitting off in smaller cars, even work out together as a family) than the Browns, with their multiple houses, impractical cars, constant bickering, fear of even acknowledging out loud that they are intimate with Kody behind closed doors (which, btw, is that weird to anyone else? whenever sex comes up at all, they're like "oh noooo, we don't discuss that, never, nothing to see here" – Meri and Kody didn't even want to answer the fertility doctor's questions about frequency of sex!).

According to the Dargers' website, they are Independent Fundamentalist Mormons. I'm not sure exactly what that means, but it's more forthcoming than the Browns, who vaguely (and with great indignation) reference their "beliefs" all the time, but never actually say what they are. And I agree with whoever said it's fishy for them to deny any knowledge of what went on in the Warren Jeffs community. That clip of Christine, played over and over, feigning "I had no idea men could be such bastards" … umm, really? Hard to imagine that she was unaware that (1)men in general can mistreat women, and (2)women and children were mistreated in the Warren Jeffs community (which has been plastered in headlines for years now). They could disassociate themselves from FLDS without pretending they're unaware that it exists and that some abuses have been associated with it.
