Waiting to see what kind of ridiculous reveal is coming. Surely the baby has come by now? I mean she over-shared all pregnancy long and now radio silence?

She's been in Collin's recent instastories and… still pregnant. She has to be two or more weeks past her due date.

She was due on the 31st, so she’s 12 days overdue.

she posted a bunch of stories today – apparently they changed her back to her original due date so she’s only a week overdue. I do hope for her sake the baby comes this week on his own cause otherwise she’s definitely gonna have to give up her ideal birth plan and deal with induction.

I feel really bad for her. I've never been pregnant, but I imagine that going from desperately trying to prevent pre-term labor to being a week late and counting has to be a huge mindf**k. I hope he comes soon, for her sake. From what I hear though, not all inductions are that bad. My good friend went in to get induced after not going into labor on her own until 41+5, and did it all-naturally without too much fuss. She was hooked up to pitocin and 7 cm dilated and texting me about mundane shit. I know it can be tempting for all of us to hope that smug people get knocked on their asses, but birth is one of those things where a bad experience, real or perceived, can cause a lot of mental health issues. I used to be all about the idea of natural birth, but then I had two surgeries in a one year period and am now fully aboard the "plan for all contingencies and do what you need to do, because the ultimate goal is to enjoy the process" brigade, which I picture to involve all the drugs if I feel like I need them. Karsyn is young though, and surrounded by a family of champion home birthers. I remember Jessie talking about how hard it was to feel like she'd "failed" when the others had it so easy. I hope she goes easy on herself if it doesn't work out.

Yeah – I’m 2.5 weeks out from my due date and had gone in thinking I’d plan on 100% natural but honestly if I need the pain meds to make it bearable – then so be it. I’ve already had a few loops thrown at me throughout the process regarding complications I didn’t even know were possible (though thankfully all looks good for a healthy little one to arrive). But induction for me is likely, either the week before or at my due date and the plan is pretty much for it to be like what you described. Pitocin to get things moving and otherwise natural – but it definitely takes a toll mentally though for something you spend so much time planning and prepping for to get changed so easily. I know out of all the siblings she and Jessie don’t seem the closest, but I hope if Karsyn ends up having to deal with more interventions that she’s a good support system for dealing with the emotions that go with it since like you said, the rest of the family have had such success with their natural home birth plans.

Best of luck with your upcoming birth! I think that the reason why natural birth appeals to so many people, like the two of us and others, is the idea that birth is a milestone to be enjoyed. I've since realized that there's no way to know how it's going to go, and if enjoying this huge process is my number one priority (aside from the obvious health and safety aspects), it's best to see how it goes and be open minded. My mom had LONG labors, my partner was a huge baby, and I was a huge baby (8 pounds, 3 weeks early), so realistically, that'll probably mean pain meds. My future SIL just had a baby, and after her epidural was able to play on her iPad for a few hours, sleep all night, and wake up to push. That sounds pretty fantastic to me! I do think it's important to be prepared for and at peace with all contingencies (epidural, epidural not working, c-section, etc). The people I know who have struggled, and it seems like Karsyn is one, had their eyes on one method…like my poor mother who never even considered a natural birth and then the epidural wouldn't take.

Oh man, Karsyn is SO petty with Elsie sometimes smiley-laughing004

She has been touting the 'Lightroom' app so much and its so clearly a jab at Elsie and her 'A Color Story' app. The second day when she was talking about it again she threw in a "oh and here are some other apps I use too" and A Color Story was on the list then probably because it was so blatant before. I swear she does it on purpose.

I get the feeling she feels competitive with Elsie in some weird frenemy way. Elsie is obviously the more successful and wealthy one and Karsyn has similar taste to her. And Elsie is the one who pays Collin's salary, so that must feel weird.

I also feel a weird competitive vibe with the babies. Like how Karsyn is overdue and Elsie is flying to China to pick up her adopted daughter in a few weeks and they both want to Instagram their nurseries and baby spam.

It's just a vibe I get. idontknow

^^ i can see how you pick up that vibe. although i don't think it's exclusively elsie she compares herself to, it's really just all those in that kind of category of blogger/IG-er. i've said it before, but i think karsyn forgets that she's still just SO young. so many people in her social circle are 10+yrs older than she is, so it doesn't make sense for her to compare herself to them. no one's house looks perfect at 23 or 24. very few at that age have their career goals established (see her 200 business ventures). i think she needs to hang with people her age and get some perspective.

and even though the pregnancy smug was getting tiresome, i do sincerely hope she is able to have this baby according to her plan and that everyone is healthy.

After the longest pregnancy ever, he's here! So glad for her that it went so well. He's TINY, which surprises me since Karsyn and Colin are both such tall people.
