I mean…..

My first thought on this post you linked was, "I hope she's not nursing that baby!"  I never drank while nursing, but that was me.  She is strange though.

Ahh, yay! This one provides so much entertainment to me. I actually like Natalie, though her blog is getting tiring to read. Way too many shopping clicks.

Caycee, on the other hand, is pure entertainment – sometimes in a not so good way. I was especially disturbed by her "special" time with her son. Which was great in theory, but then her poor child was forced to pose for photos instead of having real, quality time with his mother…which she said was so important to him. WTF? How can she just dismiss her children so easily? And she forces her husband to take annoying photos of her all the time. I feel like this happens very often on her blog – anyone agree?

Agree.  She is the type to complain when her kids are home and she actually has to take care of them.  Also, to spend this 'quality time' with her son she left her other kid home alone while she was napping.  Don't worry though, she locked the door before she left!

Anyone else think it must drive Natalie crazy that Caycee basically just copies her blog?  When Natalie started doing outfit posts, so did Caycee.  When Natalie started posting recipes, so did Caycee (although Caycee's are just pinterest photos of things she would like to cook…).  I bet Natalie secretly can't stand her.

I do feel bad that she has to take medication even though she seems to have a great life.  I wish she wouldn't be so caught up in keeping up with the Jones' and appreciate her kids, husband, and beautiful home.  If I was filling my life with 'stuff' I would have anxiety too.

Caycee has better style than Natalie, in my opinion.

I think her and Natalie have a total frienemies relationship.  They always write the most passive aggressive comments about each other.  I was actually shocked to realize that Caycee has been writing her blog for two years longer than Natalie, since it does seem that they just copy each other.  It cracks me up that their entire playgroup has a blog and will all simultaneously IG the exact same picture of their lunch dates – and then the next day, bam!  Three different posts on the exact same outing.

Like someone else said, I do appreciate that Caycee is honest about her struggles with depression, however, girlfriend (as she'd say) needs to get her priorities in check!  Any time there is a snow day and the kids are home from "school" she has a meltdown.  And when she does spend time with her kids, they never do anything outside the house (museums, library, etc.), which drives me crazy (I know I'm being super judgey – but she BUGS).

What a freaking mess. IMO no one should be that drunk while caring for children. What if something happened and you had to drive? She broadcasts these things like it's nothing. others-221

Her love letter to tequila is disturbing. I understand in needing a break but, Jesus don't drag your children along for the ride and definitely don't brag about it. sangry

She seems very into "things" and not very into anything that might actually enrich her children in any capacity.  Anytime she wants to get motivated to cook or workout it requires dropping some cash on a new outfit, shoes, marble slab, paring knife, whatever.  She readily admits that she HATES to read.  She bugs me, too.

For some reason I can tolerate Caycee more than I can Natalie – I'm not sure why because it's very clear that they both find all their purpose in who can have the most expensive things.  It's just obvious that Caycee doesn't have to stretch as far financially to obtain them.  I appreciate Caycee's honesty about her depression, and can understand her struggle with having children.  I think there's many, many women who can relate to loving their kids SO deeply and yet feeling like, "Okay, now what do I do with them?"

That said…here's some of my hang-ups with her:

- Quit flaunting your husband and encouraging your FRIENDS to lust after him. Relatedly, Natalie needs to stop with the passive "Todd is so hot" comments. That is weird and just looks tacky.

- I know depression just happens due to chemical imbalances and I don't ever want to be insensitive to that…but I agree that her priorities are so out of line and maybe some really, really good counseling could help with that.  It's difficult to sympathize for her when her life literally looks amazing.  Even apart from all the beautiful stuff she has, Todd seems like an awesome husband (did anyone else see the multiple-page manual he put together for the kids when they stayed with family for a few days?  Um…that was downright AMAZING) and I feel like that alone should go a long way in finding gratitude for your life.

- I struggle with women who are SAHM's and have housekeepers and their kids go to daycare every day.  Sorry, I just do and not much will change that opinion.

- Now this surgery…I don't fault her for it cause I certainly understand being unhappy with parts of my body.  What I don't think she sees in herself is that there's something within her that's very unhappy and no amount of surgery, booze-filled playdates, shopping trips and weekends away will fix.

@lovesnark, you hit the bullseye on this woman and dirty diaper natalie:

"there's something within her that's very unhappy and no amount of surgery, booze-filled playdates, shopping trips and weekends away will fix."

erm, it's too bad natalie doesn't take any family weekends away. will say that one key to finding happiness as i've gotten older (at the ripe old age of 34) is that the husband & i try to spend our money on experiences and adventures and not on STUFF.  i've found that time away from the grind in a new place, even for just a weekend, is worth way more than the shiny new pocketbook (as we call purses where i'm from) swinging on my arm.

i hope natalie's kids will be able to have experiences and adventures despite their mother's self-professed shopping addiction.

This was Caycee's comment on Natalie's debt post from last year:

I am so proud of you Natalie! You can do it, I know you can! And at the end of the day your true friends and family are going to love you no matter where you live (love your house btw)or the clothes you have on.I have a feeling we will be hitting up forever 21 a lot more haha!

When I read that last year, I busted out laughing at the "love your house btw" and "we will be hitting up forever 21 a lot more!" It seemed so snarky and snide.
