Gala Darling Announces Separation

galadivorce

Gala Darling, author of (what she calls) the “best-selling book” ‘Radical Self Love‘, has announced the end of her four year marriage.

After 4 years of marriage, my husband and I have decided to go our separate ways. While Mike (and Dolly) have moved out, we are still extremely close friends and will continue to work together on my site, as we have been doing the whole time we’ve been together. We’re both excited to move onwards and upwards, and I’m so thankful that we have been able to end things amicably and with a lot of love.

Speculation about the status of her union began over a week ago.

It seems another one of her projects may also be coming to and end: the ‘Blogcademy‘. A few days ago she announced the last two classes in San Francisco and New York City, adding “these will probably be our last American classes ever”. She said there might be one last class in “London, probably… But that might be it!”

Gala has been busy recently jetting around the world on what, in hindsight, appears to be some sort of ‘Sex And The City post-breakup getaway to Mexico’ trip. No word on what new projects she has in the works. We assume she is currently creating vision boards and practicing gratitude.

  1. I am Red

I wonder how much time they actually spent together if you deduct all the time she spent squeeing around the globe with the twee muskateers…

      TWEE MUSKETEERS

      • Harriet Chetwode-Talbot

I read this as “twee muskahteeahs!” and snort-laughed to myself. Love the gif!

  2. Sparkly Crystal Chandler

Wow, that announcement. Who does she think they are, Brad and Jen? Chris and Gwyneth? Ben and Jennifer Affleck? Yeah, no. Cool story, bro.

  3. Weight of White Privilege

This reads less like a blog post and more like a joint statement from a celebrity couple publicly announcing their separation. Dear Bloggers: Ben and Jen you ain’t.

    • maude lebowski

Also, she makes it sound fun! “We are still extremely close friends!” “We’re both excited to move onwards and upwards!” “I’m so thankful!” “Amicably and with a lot of love!” Damn, all of us jealous haters don’t know what we’re missing! Divorce for everyone!

      She sounds desperately cray.

      • Hummingbird

I thought the same thing! Having been through an amicable divorce myself (amicable only years after the actual breakup), I can’t imagine sounding so positive in the initial stages. Me? I broke down in tears at least once a day for months.

        • Invisabeaux

Read Mike’s response on the forum vs. what Gala wrote. It doesn’t sound like he’s exactly doing cartwheels while she sparkles her way around the globe.

Reposting, sry if this shows up again…..

Translation: I got my green card; see you later b****es.

    • well curated litter box

Which would be dumb because her green card would still be “conditional”.

      • licensed poet

she’d still be eligible for the permanent green card as long as she can prove that they didn’t enter into the marriage with fraudulent intentions.

        • priveleged people

For the record, depending on how long it took for her conditional green card, she could have even applied for citizenship by now. You need to have permanent residence for 3 years to apply for citizenship based on marriage to a US citizen (2 years conditional and then apply for the 10 year). She almost certainly has a 10 year green card, unless she’s living out of status.

    • I felt Glut Free Girls Primal Tug

Exactly, my wife was not born in the U.S., thankfully she didn’t bail when she got her green card 10 years ago. 😉

Our friends are mostly international couples. We’re batting about 100% on predicting on who is going to divorce within a year of the green card.

And to think I was just sitting here wondering, “HOW THE HELL IS GOMI MISSING THIS?”

Then I emailed everyone on earth and told them not to ask about it. It’s too personal.

  7. I kind of think she made the post at the request of her ex so people in the forums would stop posting what they found out about him/his personal information from their google sleuthing.

    • hashtag

if GOMI forced her hand into making such a non-sparkly announcement ahead of schedule (or at all), then that’s just delicious. And also, the GOMI speculation machine is right, yet again!!
It’s hard to believe this was NOT a green card marriage, at least for her.

    • AlbieQuirky

Eh, posting his public-facing info like LinkedIn seemed fine. The person/people who called his friends and his realtor need to sit on the naughty step for a good long time, though.

      • Conductorofthepooptrain

Yeah… I felt really awful when I saw what Mike had posted. I don’t have a problem with idle speculation, but that kind of shit is invasive.

        • my muffin top is all that

Legit question though – don’t the people who called the friends have to be connected with the friends somehow? I mean, surely someone wasn’t looking people up in the phone book. I’m not saying it’s right, but when someone publicly announces or sort of alludes to it a divorce in my social circles, periphery people are def calling each other. I mean, did they call these people randomly and announce I’m from the GOMI Investigative Team?

Just seems odd, to the point of manufactured drama, is all.

  8. Dowager Countess of NOPE

Well, you really have to choose what you want to excel at: blogging, wife-ing, parenting. From what I’ve read on GOMI over the years….blogging typically wins. Much sads.

*off to add America’s Sweethearts to my list of movies I learn about from Gomi right under Girls Just Want to Have Fun, which I had never heard of until the other day here when it was mentioned.*

Apparently this Countess lives under a rock.

ME TOO. Just watched Cold Comfort Farm last night after a Hamtip (did a Netflix DVD by mail) and it’s a winner. Weird crusty and veddy Briddish but so good! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112701/

      • AlbieQuirky

        THERE’S NO BUTTER IN HELL!

      • Distended Pudenda

THERE’S ALWAYS BEEN STARKADDERS AT COLD COMFORT FARM, ROBERT POST’S CHILD. I SAW SOMETHING NASTY IN THE WOODSHED.

        • Anne Nonny Mouse

          But did it see you?

Literally just rereading this now, the book is as good as the movie and I love you hams for quoting it!

      • Franzia, Felines, & Fumes

        LOVE that movie!

      • Robert Poste's child

I love that movie (obviously). I also love your posts, Guerrilla. You just wrote a killer one in the Cecily thread that was really great. Sorry if that is too fangirl/weird to write out loud.

  9. Urethra Franklin

That was one of the most UNheartfelt things I’ve read, even by Galah’s standards. It’s basically a big STFU to GOMI so that we stop talking about it, because the timing is way too coincidental for the post to be genuine, and because of her mentioning more than once to “respect their privacy”, which, given Mike’s sudden appearance on GOMI, leads me to believe he put her up to it.

All the best to Mike, I’m sure he’ll be happier fixing motorbikes with like-minded people instead of living in a pink glitter unicorn vomit bubble. Can’t wait to see how Galah’s going to support herself in NYC, especially because she doesn’t have a job, the Blogcadeny ship has sunk and her “best-selling book” is hardly selling at all.

    • my muffin top is all that

She will find some other gravy train to hitch on OR she and nubby will get married and pimp their weird candy colored apartment where they play hopscotch and drink cliche drinks while dressing like children with a million cameras and sell subscriptions to view online which people will complain about because of the constant film of glitter all over everything.

That’s the best popcorn gif I’ve ever seen.

        Thank you. <3

For a moment it takes the attention away from my 10000 multiple posts.

  11. Dawn French Fry

I just wish this annoying little Gelfling would go away.

    • ambienwalrus

Gelfling! Now I can’t unsee it.

      • Dawn French Fry

Ha ha, thank you for seeing it too. I thought maybe I was too ancient and it was a “just me then?” thing.

        • #petmommywars

I’m just happy I’m not the only one old enough to picture it!
