Jessica Quirk Is A Reality Show Star

Jessica Quirk, wears stuff, wants people to know she wears the same things over and over because she is super real. Saying “Yea, I wore the dress last week and I like it, so I’m wearing it again!” she then proceeded to rant about how blogland kind of sucks nowdays.

I’ve been a little disenchanted with the blogging world lately with all of it’s perfection. The outfits have become astronimically expensive and disposable. I don’t have the budget or desire to wear things once. Sure, I have a dozen designer pieces I’ve invested in, but I’ll wear the same $25 dress on repeat too.

That’s right – Messica owns tons of designer stuff, ok? All those other bloggers wear free designer stuff like Messica used to, but not Ms. Quirk. She no longer has the money for care/of Oscar de la Renta. She’s keeping it real now because she’s starring in her “own little real reality show”. Too bad nobody’s tuning in anymore.

  1. Wait... What?

I'll never get these fashion people. Who cares about a stupid label.

I'm pretty passionate about fashion (it's my field), but it does seem that SO many people - not just bloggers - shop designer brands just to say they shop designer brands. Or just to post opulent-looking pics on Instagram. It's a ridiculous pissing contest.

      • not a gift

It seems like Messi got obsessed with Milly right after being "hired" to photograph Fashion Week that one year. That's when she started to change her vintage ways toward acquiring a stable of designer pieces. I guess she wanted to look like the runway models (5'9", 6'0" in heels!).

This is a person who coincidentally "stopped" accepting an endless supply of barely seen c/o wardrobe items only when Modcloth stopped sponsoring WIW. Since then she's blogged numerous high profile company-sponsored shopping sprees many of which resulted in single-appearance designer "purchases." And despite loud proclamations to the contrary she has continued to accept "gifts" whenever any company is willing to send something for free (or pay her to spent "her own money" on their product, in a very transparent c/o workaround). She also has blamed WIW's significant reduction in outfit posts on the fact that she couldn't coordinate or stage outdoor photo shoots. So her disenchantment with the perfection and disposable nature of today's most successful fashion blogs is at best hypocritical and at worst petty sour grapes.

Ugh sorry for the typo. I meant "spend" her own money.

    • The Daily Snark

Monetized blogs make me insane, but at the same time I don't know who she thinks she's fooling with all of her weird "gift" and c/o runarounds. Why would any nursing mother wear a pullover dress and cardigan for a casual day around town with her baby? I don't believe it for a second. She doesn't have sponsored nursing clothes, so she's just wearing whatever she has/gets and it looks like what it probably is: an outfit she throws on for a photo shoot.

I don't care whether she changes it on her blog, but I just find it so strange that she can't just acknowledge that an item/outfit is c/o. Why would any vendor give gifts with no strings attached to ANY blogger? Who would believe that this ever happens?

      THIS! (0)NOPE! (0)

      • She's fighting it so hard because she made a huuuuuuuge public production out of "no longer accepting C/O". She came up with what she thought was an insanely cleve runaround - accepting money from companies that she would then spend on the item they wanted her to showcase, so she could claim she didn't take C/O items because, like, it cost her her own money (that the company paid her specifically to buy the item). She tried to be 'different' int his way, and it flopped, and she's kind of the queen of I'm Always Right, Thanks! so she can't just admit it was wrong and she screwed up and only like eighteen people ever bought her ridiculous lie.

        • multi-handbag lifestyle

I'm not even sure companies give her money to purchase their products -- considering the mark up on products, that would cost them a lot more. She's probably just flat out lying.

      • " Why would any vendor give gifts with no strings attached to ANY blogger? Who would believe that this ever happens?"

THIS. Everyone knows how the game is played - blogger "reviews", "gifts", "care ofs", are an extension of a company's marketing budget. To insinuate otherwise is frankly insulting to an audience that knows better.

  4. That Squirky (formerly purpleoreo)

She also calls c/o items "gifts" and doesn't know how to buckle her free sandals. I love when bloggers change their "I take no freebies" policy to "Give me all the free Old Navy and Rockport" clothes but don't acknowledge it.

Jen Loves Kev did the same thing. I remember a decision to stop accepting c/o and blog "with integrity" but now she's sponsored by Canon, so out with the servant's heart and in with the moolah, I guess.
      https://gomiblog.com/jen-loves-kev-blog-no-longer-accepting-ads/

The problem is that bloggers think their readers are idiots who don't pay close attention to the details... which is mostly true, except for us hams.

    THIS! (0)NOPE! (0)

    • superbeef

Definitely owns much more than a dozen designer pieces. Who does she think she's kidding? She has posted documentary evidence of the designer clothes she owns. She has a whole freaking "Gallery" showcasing them. Anyone who reads her blog knows this. Why lie about it?

She has quite a lot of DVF pieces, in addition to other designers. A DVF black/leopard tote bag (fall 2014). A pink DVF top from Nordstrom Rack last year (winter 2014), the red/black/blue floral dress she bought for the distillery opening (fall/winter 2014), the DVF sundress she bought while pregnant (spring/summer 2014). A mod colorblocked blue and black knit dress with a skater-style hem. A black and white wrap dress with a corrugated metal pattern. A wrap dress with a black background and a pink and green cherry print. Did I forget any? And that's just the DVF! 7 DVF pieces that I can think of off the top of my head, 4 of which she bought in the last year.

she also has at least 2 kate spade and 2 milly dresses... plus all the jackets she uses to hide her outfits (like that ugly michael kors white leather moto)... and the multiple karen walker "sunnies" to minimize the cara de pan and hide her beady eyes...

  13. double double this this

I don't want to be that person but honestly someone should report her blog to the FCC. What she's doing in terms of c/o versus gifts is dishonest and misleading. If you're going to call it a job, and get income from your blog, don't treat your readers like they're dumber than you are. IDGAF. She needs to straighten out the c/o issue because it (and many other problems with her blog) are going to cloud everything until she does.
