It’s time for the 9th Annual Shorty Awards, and Instagram and Snapchat thirsties who managed to get nominated are busy flooding their social media feeds with pleas to their fans to go vote for them. And just who are these “influencers“?
Arielle Charnas was born into a fashion industry family, so a serious sense of style is in her blood…her impeccable looks have gained her a massive following, with nearly 1M Instagram followers loving all of her perfectly-styled shots.
The Shaytards overshared their way to a ‘Vlogger of the Year’ nomination in the Youtube category, and Jaclyn Hill was nominated as a Youtube Guru. Barefoot Blonde‘s Amber Clark is nominated under ‘Lifestyle’.
Hair guru, stylist, mother, and beauty and lifestyle blogger Amber Fillerup Clark keeps the internet fashionable. The NYC-based “It Girl” rose to celebrity through her popular series of YouTube hair tutorials and her blog, “Barefoot Blonde,” which showcases Amber’s evolving looks, life, and family adventures, captured in elegantly staged and beautifully shot photography.
Who is writing this crap? That ‘college prepster’ chick also got nominated and already has a votebeg post up. And those of you who miss DIY blogging will be happy to hear Chris and Julia, Young House Love’s successors to the ‘bland couple with bland taste’ crown, are nominated under ‘House and Home’.
So yeah, yawn. The main entertainment value lies in reading their over the top blurbs and watching them on social media acting like their nomination is just such a surprise as if they had no idea their names had been submitted. Other than that, like most industry-celebrating-itself award events this is all very exciting for the nominees and sponsors but nobody else really cares.
