Cary Wants You All To Know She’s Famous And Single

Cary Randolph Fuller, the WASPiest woman to ever live, continues her self-transformation from midwestern podunk sk8t3r girl in Brooklyn to Hamptons hitting, polo match attending, Manhattan socialite. It’s a long road from drinking beer in a flannel shirt to perfecting your disordered eating at the Ralph Lauren offices, but that’s still not enough to get Scary Mandolph the Kennedy Jefferson Wittenbach Mr. Big whatever man who will marry her and confer on her the legitimate WASP status she droolingly craves. There is a final step: making the rounds in magazines as one of NYC’s “bachelorettes”.

That’s right: Cary “my parents were socialites I was born in Connecticut I worked at a hotel one summer in Newport which is the same as spending summers there” Fuller has been named one of Complex Magazines “50 Most Desirable Bachelorettes in NYC“, presumably because Man Repeller is no longer available. She promptly began bragging about her new importance on her twitter:

Who wrote that @complexguide list of bachelorettes?! Whose hand to I need to shake?!

Oh give me a break. The list is a mix of random bloggers and a couple of actual celebrities/models. New York City is a small town, I’m sure Cary knows exactly whose back to scratch here. But whatever. Things like this will truly notch up her social currency enough to land herself a husband with a house in Maine, so mission accomplished!

Cary Randolph Won’t Shut Up About the Hamptons

Cary Randolph-future Kennedy, current Jefferson and the ne plus ultra of high society-graciously answers questions from the unwashed masses. Today she got an anonymous question that was right in her wheelhouse:

Anonymous said: Which do you prefer: Hamptons or Newport?

Cary: I prefer them both to pretty much anywhere else, but if we’re splitting hairs I’d like to be tearing down Further Lane in a charcoal gray Mercedes-Benz SLK350 with the top down, hair loose, white linen shirt over a black string bikini, bloody Mary in a Solo cup, and Bob Seger on the radio, the right man at my right side.

Well thank God. I thought this seemed pretentious but the mention of a red Solo cup really brought this answer down to earth. I understand answering a question creatively, but this is a self-indulgent wank over the trust fund or bank account that Scary Mandolph just knows is out there, waiting for her to come and really turn its life around. Mandolph created this fiction of herself as a dyed-in-the-wool WASP at least a year ago, and nothing has come of it. It’s time to admit she really is just the bland Midwestern transplant we all know she is. If she would stop trying to be the second coming of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy she might actually be interesting.

Thankfully, there is at least one person who isn’t impressed by Mandolph’s response:

Philistine. I’ll bet they never even heard of F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald.

Cary Randolph Knows How To Eat

Cary Randolph Kennedy Jefferson Washington Fuller, American girl, is regularly asked by anonymous tumblr people for advice. Yesterday a curious reader wanted to know “…what is your diet like?” The American Ms. Fuller responded with her usual combination of wit and relatability:

Funny story: I was on a date recently, and the guy asked me what I like to do besides running. Paused for a moment, asked myself, What are my hobbies? Then looked him in the eye and said, “Well, I like to eat.”

So here’s a typical day in the appetite of moi: egg whites and a piece of cheese or a green juice for breakfast (plus green tea with Splenda), Cobb salad for lunch, Larabar and half-pint of blueberries in the afternoon, salad for dinner, half a PBJ for dessert.

But that’s a good day. Here’s a “bad” one: bacon-egg-and-cheese croissant for breakfast, crab cake salad with French fries for lunch, handful of M&M’s in the afternoon, martini-and-sushi binge fest and gelato at dinner.

Bottom line: eat what you want when you want it (within reason), and then kill yourself at the gym and on the trail. Feel fat? Eat less, and move more.

Did she seriously say “half a PBJ for dessert”? On a “good day”? And then instruct you pork out (within reason?) and then “kill yourself” at the gym??? Cary. CARY honey. I know you’re trying to seem “real” with your little all American PBJ anecdote but come the freck on.

And there is no universe imagined by Carl Sagan in which I would stuff myself with whatever I want and then spend hours in a gym to make up for it. That’s just swinging between extremes for no reason and smacks of a borderline eating disorder. You live in NYC where the average person walks 2 miles a day and you run marathons, Cary. I think you’re allowed french fries and binge drinking on occasion without the guilt laden aftermath of killing yourself at the gym.

WTF woman.

Cary Randolph Can’t Do Adulthood Well

Well, I’ve learned my lesson. I took a short break from GOMIBLOG and almost missed some more word vomit from our very own Scary Mandolph:

Recently: standing at the kitchen counter, attempting to peel a hardboiled egg. The white kept coming off with the shole until there was hardly any left, and I stood there, pissed off, late, a million things to do, thinking, “How am I going to do this when I’m a mom?” That’s the question I ask whenever these mundane tasks don’t come easy, like removing an egg shole in one deft maneuver, the flat side of the thumb, the way my dad does it over the sink. He makes it look simple, but it’s not so simple. It’s a craft. And I worry that in ten, fifteen years, when there’s a passel of children pulling on my skirt hem, rolling their sippy cups across the linoleum, screaming for their breakfast, how will I breeze through the mindless bullCrap without losing my mind? Example: opening a can of soup over the sink without losing the grip of the can in the opener and dropping the can and spilling all the soup? Or laundry? Loads and loads of laundry? Or hauling groceries into a car and a child in a car seat at the same time in the rain, and the hubby’s on the phone, “What’s for dinner, darling?” How does anyone do that? (I can see my mother now, reading this, saying aloud to her iPad screen, “For God’s sake, Cary, stop THINKING so much.”)

Christ on sale, what the Crap is that about? I’ve peeled hard boiled eggs and even used manual can openers for years and I’m not even a (omg) mother. Also, how do you even manage to “peel” an egg and end up taking off the white too? Is she whacking at the thing with a steak knife? All that aside, I don’t know why Mandolph even thinks she’ll have to do any of this stuff once she marries the Kennedy-Vanderbilt-Guinness-Mortimer-de’ Medici-bank account of her dreams. Rich people have servants to do this stuff. I’m no WASP, but I just assume daddy’s too busy banging younger women and mommy’s too busy drinking to care about actually using *gasp* kitchen appliances.

Honestly this looks like something Poundcake would write, and once you’ve hit that level there’s really not much hope. It’s normal for someone to be nervous about raising a child, but don’t eggs and can openers seem like really minor worries? I can’t wait until people stop treating every single aspect of their lives, no matter how insignificant or annoying, as The Link that Binds Us All Together as Humans or something like that.

And Now Cary Randolph Will Talk About Fashion

Cary Randolph Fuller Hearst Astoria Guinness Hamptons, knows all about fashion and being a WASP. She also knows about being American, and American fashion! Which brings us to her contribution to the NYFW coverage:

Sifting through Fashion Week coverage, I am reminded of how singular the American style is. In spite of its many forms and silhouettes, there is this common thread of exuberance and movement that I see, season after season, that has nothing to do with fashion at all but rather with a collective spirit. The designers may not be conscious of it when creating their collections, but it shines through anyway. American fashion is light; it’s about function and sport and making fast getaways. I look at legends like Ralph, who made a four-inches-wide necktie because he could not find it anywhere else, and Diane—her wrap dress was immediately iconic and so practical and every woman could and still can wear it, and it looks just as modern as it did thirty years ago. Lilly Pulitzer used those citrusy, splashy prints in all of her designs because they covered up juice stains. (Seriously.) The best American fashion seems borne of necessity, wearability. “How to build a house or change a tire while looking and feeling like a million bucks.” All the hundreds of designers—global brands and boutique names alike—and this could be said about every one of them, and that, to me, is what makes American fashion so wonderful.

Yet another 7th grade paper about American style just so she can name drop Ralph Lauren. Since Cary’s idea of America is white protestants hanging out in Newport and the Hamps being rich I’m not sure we should take any of her “Americana” fashion advice seriously.

Cary Randolph Still Trying Too Hard

Cary Randolph Merovingian Wittenbach Jefferson Walter Fuller, WASP, loves answering reader questions. Especially anonymous questions that always seem to cater to whatever she feels like talking about, or allows her to peddle whatever Ralph Lauren is currently selling.

The other day Cary got another “anonymous” ask message that curiously allowed her to yet again adjust her Hemingway Didion hat:

Anonymous said: favorite smells & textures?

Fantastic question. I love the smells of a man in the morning when he first wakes up, Colonia by Acqua di Parma, gasoline, sea air, Wrigley’s spearmint gum, juniper, an ex-boyfriend’s cashmere sweaters, and iris.

Favorite textures include skin, especially along the clavicle, cut grass underfoot, leather upholstery in a Mercedes-Benz, sea air, his five o’clock shadow, ice on a windshield, and caviar.

….right. She tries so hard to be the high/low of lifestyle WASPing. Honey, you’re only allowed to act this way when you’re rich. Maybe your series of WASPy status boyfriends this summer didn’t tell you that, but I’m sure their sisters might have, had you put down the pose for ten seconds and asked somebody. Please, for your sake, stop trying so hard.

Cary Randolph Is Classy At Parties

Cary Randolph Jefferson Washington Kennedy Fuller, swears she is a WASP, never misses a party. Last week Cary went to High Suhssietty Greenwich and showed a bunch of hedge funders what class and breeding are all about:

I was at this party in Greenwich last week. A hedge funder’s McMansion on Round Hill Road. My friends call these shindigs “rape and murder” because that’s basically what we expect, that and a lot of tan lines where wedding rings should be. We dove into the rosé, and then, after dark, while chatting with a gentleman who lamented his second wife’s existence because I am starting to figure out that wives are just expensive, inconvenient decoration, I dove into the pool trailing yards and yards of ivory tulle and eyelet behind me. Ha: tulle in the pool. It was just so hot that night, and nothing looks prettier under water than a party dress.

Sounds like someone’s bitter that she didn’t get welcomed with dropped jaws and whispers of “who IS that fascinating creature” from the crowd. Nothing says WASPy debutante like getting drunk and diving into a swimming pool in an evening dress. At a hedge funder’s party house. Drunk on rose. Keep it classy, honey! I’m sure Topper is writing home to mom right now, telling her he’s found a new drunken blonde wife.
