Instagram Now Lets The Thirsties Block Comments

Bloggers and Instagram thirsties are making panty pudding over a new feature which allows them to block comments containing certain keywords. Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom said in a blog post e need to promote a culture where everyone feels safe to be themselves without criticism or harassment. Which is awesome in most contexts such as LGBTQ and abortion rights, or ending racism, or preventing schoolkids from being dunked in toilets just for having braces, or even actual sustained targeted instagram harassment. But let's be honest - in this case it probably means instagram will turn into a neverending episode of...

Sarah Lacy Missing

Sarah Lacy, tolerance activist and famous author of some stuff nobody read, has gone MIA from the internet. According to her twitter she has not bothered to update us on her latest illness or bad travel experience since April 12. Her blog thing hasn't had a post since April 7th. Could it be true? Has she finally left our internets??? Or did Paul Carr finally snap and chain her in the boiler room of his hotel? It is a mystery. UPDATE: Roughly two hours after we posted this, Sarah updated her twitter: i haven't opened twitter in like a month....

And Suddenly Casey Culture Looks Hot

Casey, of the Casey Culture blog, has frequently been suggested as a GOMIBLOG subject. I check her blog from time to time hoping she will do something post-worthy. She never does. She's just your average bland NYC blonde trying to seem worldly and interesting; sort of  "Oh, OK *eyeroll*" worthy, but not particularly offensive. I checked in today to see this picture, evidently snapped at some wedding she attended. Now, I'm not saying she's ugly at other times, just rather uninspiring. So may I just say whatever lighting, angle, and makeup she's using in this image needs to be used every single...

Mary Rambin Will Make You Feel Guilty About Your Friday Night

Mary Rambin, consultant and blogger, apparently woke up feeling guilty about having a normal 20-something Friday night: Kitty and I are working off the ritas, chips, salsa, AND queso from dinner last night with a little P90X. It’s a great workout!! I added 5 lb weights to the plyometrix routine and kicked my ass! Meanwhile the rest of America's 20-somethings woke up with hangovers, ate a breakfast burrito, drank Gatorade, took a nap, and started preparing to go out and drink again tonight. Can she ever just frocking relax? Damn girl, so you went out and drank and had some nachos....

Style Bloggers To See Fewer “Courtesy Of” Items?

In the wake of Jessica Quirk's announcement that she will no longer be accepting "c/o" items, GOMIBLOG has received tips that more bloggers may be forced to join in the "NO C/O" movement. Jen Loves Kev had already decided to no longer accept sidebar ads, and now the blog What Would A Nerd Wear has announced she too will be turning down freebies from companies. Well supposedly we can look forward to similar announcements from more bloggers in the near future. The tipster claims this will be more of a face-saving act on the part of bloggers as companies have...

“Clients From Hell” Editors Apparently Don’t Read What They Post

Readers of the blog "Clients From Poop" are scratching their heads at a post that went up today: I got regular complaints from a client that the DVDs I gave him were corrupted. After several irate phone calls, I went down in person to check out the situation. His machine was in working order, his disc drive was functional, and after testing all of the DVDs he claimed were corrupted, I saw he was correct. After berating me for my idiocy, the client went into a full-on rant about how my stupidity has cost him both time and money. I apologized profusely...
