Lindsay Wants You To Wear Deodorant

Lindsay, group fitness instructor, has "some observations and they need to be known". In her (apparently now deleted) guest post for Carrots N Cake titled "Confessions of a Group Fitness Instructor", Lindsay provided a list of complaints about her students. The list included things like "If you insist on NOT wearing deodorant to class, I insist on calling you out in front of the class. Suave is cheap. Like $1. Get some. It’ll feel real nice" and saying that the blessings of teaching a class involve "days when people jump as high as I tell them to, complete the number of...

Dear Kid, Dooce Enjoyed Your Valentine’s Day Card

While millions of people sat alone on February 13th wondering how to avoid the next day, Heather Armstrong, mansion buyer, sat staring at a card from her daughter. Ever the loving, accepting, uncritical mother, Dooce proceeded to post her feelings about her daughter's effort for the internet to read: (more…)

Caitlin HTP Will Approve Your Comment

Caitlin HTP, her husband is British you know, moderates her comments like pretty much every blog on the internet nowadays. And like most bloggers, she will sometimes use her moderation power to manufacture some drama: Oh come on. I'm so tired of bloggers approving the random "negative" comment just so they can point and scream "Do you SEE what I have to DEAL with? DO YOU????". The point of moderating is so you can just delete these things. Either delete them and move on like a big girl, or turn off moderation so everyone can see the horrible comments you...

“Brain Pickings” Author Runs An “Ad-Free” Site, Except Not

Brain Pickings "curator" Maria Popova supposedly finances her site via donations and subscriptions, claiming to refuse advertising because she doesn't "believe in this model of making people into currency". Evidently nobody told Maria that littering your posts with affiliate links is virtually the same thing as plastering ads all over your site. She supposedly doesn't disclose that she uses affiliate links because she doesn't consider them "advertising", even though as On Advertising points out, "n every description of the service, Amazon calls the revenue made by partner websites 'advertising fees'". It seems rather hypocritical of Maria to repeatedly shame people...

Momastery Announces Separation

Glennon, runs some mommy blog, announced today that she and her husband have separated: Craig and I are separated now. We are still a family... She explains she has "to be very careful" because "half of this separation story" is her husband's, and saying, in a nutshole, that her kids are getting too old to have their privacy violated by mom writing about them on the internet. She then went on to ramble about raising a "new dream sail" and some other metaphorical mumbo jumbo. The separation revelation comes on the heels of  a post begging readers to show up...

Gala Darling No Longer At XOJane?

It was just 5 months ago that Gala Darling, her mood is a choice, was gushing about being able to "fluff around in xoJane’s hot pink offices" as the site's Beauty Editor. Well it seems her fluffing days might be over: Gala is also no longer listed on the site's staff roster. Since there doesn't seem to be any statement given by either party about why Gala is no longer part of the fast paced world of internet lady mags, we assume she has simply become so busy with her Blahcadamy that she can no longer find the time to share her eyeliner...

That Wife Begins Labor

After 9 months of putting minimal effort into her child's gestation, That Wife has finally started the journey she no doubt prays will end in a daughter. Yes T2 has begun his or her descent towards Jenna's well prepared perineum. T2 joins former bathroom resident T1 and his hate monetizing mommy in their new home full of e-books and high-educated people. Best of luck for a safe delivery and a healthy outcome. But please no twitter pics of a bloody birthing pool.

J’s Everyday Fashion Will Post Her Blog Entries On Your Blog

J. of J's Everyday Fashion, end of post bold type question asker, has a personal style blog. Like many people with blogs, J. wants to promote her site and her content - but some are saying her latest attempt to self-promote might be taking it too far. It seems Kendi at Kendi Everyday put up a post about inspiration vs. copying in the outfit world.  J. then commented on this post...by copypasting an old blog entry of her own into the comments section: When another commenter asked her why she felt the need to use someone else's comment section to...

Mommy Bloggers Outraged At Privacy Violation

Mommy bloggers, first rule is never call them mommy bloggers, were up in twitter arms this week over a PR company peddling their privacy. Bulldog Reporter was apparently selling lists of their unlisted phone numbers and home addresses. Kristen Howerton began the outcry on twitter: Kristen went on to say "A PR person showed it to me. My unlisted cell phone number AND HOME ADDRESS. Unbelievable." and other mommy bloggers piled on, tweeting at the company and calling their behavior "hideous", "disgusting", and "creepy". Bulldog Reporter later informed Kristen that the issue "has been resolved as per my VM. All...

Online Fight Escalates Into Legal Battle Between Birth Bloggers

Gina of The Feminist Breeder, has haters and don't you forget it, is apparently facing a lawsuit from another birth blogger. Dr. Amy at The Skeptical OB has informed the internet that she has filed against Gina for "unlawfully sent false notices (called “takedown notices”) under the Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA) and for tortious interference with my contracts with webhosts". The history of their public online battle was summarized by GOMIBLOGer Viola_Aurea: OK, so Gina wrote this post about how she's learned soooooooooo much after being a doula at 20 births. Dr. Amy responded with this post, basically saying, "If you've learned this much after...

Kelle Hampton’s Bathtub Baby Pic Freaks Out Instagrammers

Kelle Hampton, puts her kids on the internet, recently put her naked kid on the internet. The picture of her toddler eating ice cream in the bathtub was posted by Kelle on her instagram account starting Mommy Wars 5: Stop Feeding The Pedos. When people started suggesting it might not be the best idea to post a full frontal unclothed bath pic of her daughter to her very popular internet picture bank, they were slapped down with the usual responses of "don't like it, unfollow" and "if you can't say something nice...". Others were called sick or filthy minded for...

Thinking Housewife Says Birth Control Ruins Men

The Thinking Housewife wants men to stop submitting to the matriarchal dogma that allows women a say about the size of the family - because apparently men who are allowed to put as many babies as possible into the world are more manly: Men who are fathers of several children, especially those who have been openly living the Church’s teaching against contraception, gain a confidence and ease in their masculinity that does not seem equaled by others. These men seem aware of their power...A man who has not denied his masculine procreative power is a man whose virility is evident...

Cupcakes And Cashmere Is Keeping Busy

Emily over at Cupcakes and Cashmere somehow found time in her hectic life to post an instructional video...about coffee table styling. We’ve had our coffee table (first seen here) for a while now, but it wasn’t until recently that I finally got around to styling it. At times I had it completely empty, but when a table’s not comfortable enough to put your feet up , at least it should look appealing. It was hard to find a configuration that I felt good about – which books to include and how many, if I should keep remote controls corralled on a cute tray...

Bloggers Continue To Share About Their Vaginas

Jen, blogger lady at "Life With Levi", follows the lead of That Wife by posting about her attempts to tighten up her feminine facilities. Evidently Jen decided kegal balls would help: I put them in, and just to see if I could do it, got up and walked around the living room. They didn’t fall out. In fact, I could barely feel them. I laid on the couch and tried doing some kegel exercises. At first, I could feel a little pressure from them, but then they shifted and I couldn’t feel them anymore. Maybe that’s just how they work?...

Penelope Trunk Knows How To Pick A Husband

Penelope Trunk, marriage expert, is once again telling women how to be married. Trunk is instructing women to choose a husband based on whether they want to work or not. Telling women that they must choose between being a mother or being a breadwinner, Trunk then explains our various options. These options are, in a nutshole: be the breadwinner, marry a breadwinner, or hire a couple of nannies. If you pick the 'both people work and hire a nanny' route, Trunk says "you will need to find a husband who earns more than you" because if you don't, you will just breed and flee:...

Brit Morin Will Use Your Ideas

Brit.co, the hobby horse website of some chick who married a rich guy, has a habit of using other folks' ideas and passing them off as her own original content. Well, she's at it again, this time in such a blatant way that it's impossible to dismiss. Julie Will Tell You How To Talk To A Pregnant Person

Julie of "The Daily Julie", pregnant, surely speaks on behalf of all pregnant women with her recent post "How to Talk to a Pregnant Lady". Saying that "the questions you ask a preg are seemingly harmless and well meaning and most of the time, they are met with a smile by the recipient" she goes on to share a "secret" - your questions piss pregnant women off! What questions? Offensive, prying questions such as: 1. When are you due? Maybe you’re curious, maybe you just don’t know what else to say, but this is the number one question that any pregnant...
