Influencers Are Bringing Back The ‘Instagram Husband’

‘I’m basically a human selfie stick.’ Thus declared the 2015 video poking fun at the ‘Instagram husband’ – in those days referring to the spouses taking pictures of their wives for their curated feeds. It was meant as a lighthearted look at how husbands became unintentional participants in their wives’ social media careers, holding their iphone cameras as they posed and waiting patiently as their better halves took snaps of their meals and feet.

For a few years the ‘Instagram husband’ faded away as content creators attempted to put some space between their personal private lives and their public personas. But now it seems the gram husband is coming back – and he’s not hiding behind the camera any longer.
