Audrey Doesn’t Even Care If You Know She Janks Her Gram

Audrey, of some “Frassy” blog, evidently doesn’t mind if folks know she has automated her Instagram in order to gain “real” followers.

Maybe try email next time.

Maybe try email next time.

And what is ‘instagress‘? Apparently it’s a service that is “designed to attract attention to your Instagram account and gain more comments, likes, and followers”. Rather than, I dunno, growing followers organically, bloggers now buy followers and carpet bomb social media services with random likes and follows until they get their numbers up. And with 31k followers, the strategies seem to be working for “Frassy”.

Seems there are a hundred ways to game the gram, kids.

Instagram Follower Cleanup Likely To Upset Some Bloggers

instafakes

Bloggers who buy fake Instagram followers to inflate their numbers might discover their follower counts dropping over the next few weeks. It seems Instagram is cleaning up their system – and deleting fake accounts.

In December 2014, we’re fixing an ongoing issue that incorrectly includes inactive or fake accounts in follower/following lists…We’re in the process of fixing an issue that incorrectly includes inactive or fake accounts in follower/following lists…As we remove these accounts, some people may notice a decrease in their follower/following counts.

They did a similar sweep back in April, but since then the trend of buying fake followers has increased to ridiculous levels. Almost every big time or wannabe big time blogger seems to purchase numbers. Even Rach Parcell, pregnant, is suspected of buying her follower count.

I can’t wait to see how many bloggers flip out when their numbers drop by possibly tens of thousands over the coming weeks. They’ll probably just wait until March and buy another 100k fake accounts, because all that matters in the blog industry is those follower numbers.

I also look forward to watching bloggers scramble to get one of the new Verified Badges from the gram. Just what social media needs, another status symbol!

Pink Peonies Finally Admits She’s Pregnant

Pink Peonies, allegedly makes a million dollars per year, has finally ended months of speculation and admitted she has a little Rstyle link in her uterus.

As you can see from my growing belly, there’s a new addition coming to the Parcell family in spring 2015…

She’s been claiming for months that she’s just eating too many ‘peanut m&ms’ but the GOMIBLOG Pregnancy Test never fails.

Atlantic-Pacific Presents A Reminder To Always Check Your Reflection

loloops

Looks like in her rush to post a classic bubble bath pic to Instagram, Blair Eadie of Atlantic-Pacific accidentally posted a full frontal (bits in above photo censored by me, but I assure you every inch of her was visible).

Remember kids, check those photos before you share them with the entire planet. And may I say that is quite a waxing job!

The Sartorialist Is Familiar With Indian Culture

Actually just a street sweeper.

Actually just a street sweeper.

Scott Schuman, the shortorialist, is living it up since his split with Garance. He’s currently traveling the world, and is sharing photos from India. Everything was buttkissing and fawning until he posted this photo, labeling the woman pictured an ‘untouchable’.

The response was immediate and full of ‘wait, wut?’ Commenters explained to him that the woman was simply a street sweeper, and basically called him an asshamper for even using the word.

Why do you invent “tragic concepts” where none exist ? If you saw her as an untouchable its in your eyes and cunning controversial mind . You are the worst myopic traveller ever and to think we Indians idolised you, lol. You are so disappointing!!!

Scott responded that he ‘didn’t just make it up. I was told that by local people I was with while shooting’ with commenters responding that ‘the term was banned and is offensive, the fact that you don’t share their culture and believes wouldn’t allow you to understand the sensitivity of the term’. Another commenter called it ‘pure discrimination’ and said ‘Didn’t know we were back in the 1700’s’.

While it’s conceivable Scott didn’t know the term would be so offensive, he has decided to dig in and defend the use of the word rather than apologize and change the caption.

What I Wore Back At Home After Surgery

messica

Jessica Quirk, used to have a successful style blog, went into the hospital a week ago suffering from mastitis. The situation apparently turned serious a few days later.

UPDATE: I just got out of surgery to have an abscess drained that formed after the antibiotics caused the infection to coalesce. In pain but hopefully will be better soon.

Messica has now left the hospital and is recovering at home.

Effortless Anthropologie Wants RewardStyle To Fix This

Roxy Turtle, runs an Anthro fansite, seems to be having an issue with RewardStyle. Apparently she’s been having having tracking issues with her affiliate links – and she claims that while RewardStyle was initially helpful they have not only closed her complaint, they became intimidating when she responded she would not let this drop.

Unfortunately, the relationship with RewardStyle seems to be taking a nosedive…I’ve been getting emails from a RewardStyle Vice President that feel threatening. Retaliatory.

Saying “all I want is to understand what happened and get a promise that it won’t happen again”, Roxy went into Mistreated Little Person Versus The Big Bad Corporation mode.

I feel scared and unsure what to do…They have the team and resources at their disposal. They are a huge company and they seem to be putting their efforts into threatening me. I just don’t get it…I have been crying for most of the afternoon…I’m one tiny person and RewardStyle a huge company. It feels so scary to me that they might come after me, retaliate. I feel scared.

She goes on to say she feels RStyle is gearing up to drop her because she “asked too many questions”, but that isn’t what she wants at all. After going on and on about how scared and upset she is, and how she feels ‘threatened’ by RStyle, Roxy says she still wants to work with the company.

Ideally, at this point what I want is what I mentioned above: an in-depth explanation of what happened, an agreement on how to prevent this in the future, and a promise that the relationship will go back to normal with no retaliation.

I really don’t get all the blogger kowtowing to RewardStyle. Are they just the only affiliate company out there or something? I just don’t understand why Roxy would want to continue working with a company that treats her in the manner she’s claiming. Surely RStyle isn’t the only name in the game. Get out and find another affiliate company!
