HLBs Will Begin A War Over Misleading Photos

Taralynn McNitt, salad blogger, is apparently the queen of flattering photo angles that erase about 20 lbs. Unfortunately for her she went on some kind of fitness vacation with a bunch of other bloggers, who had no problem posting pics of Taralynn in all her unedited glory.

One HLB even responded to a commenter on her recap post regarding TL’s wildly different appearance in her pictures versus the pictures posted by other attendees.

boom

What’s that, you say? A blogger posting inaccurate selfies, who cares Alice? Well really no one would care…except for the fact that she uses these misleading photos to sell herself as a fitspo salad pusher – which makes some people blast her for causing eating disorders among her followers or something. But some folks are “over” poor Taralynn being blamed for anyone’s disordered habits.

Finally, I’m over everyone blaming Taralynn’s blog for creating “full-blown” eating disorders.  YOU are responsible for your actions; stop blaming others and grow up.  Taralynn has deep rooted issues and constantly playing the victim is denial and an excuse not to own up to her mistakes.  That is exactly what these accusers are doing as well.

So if you enjoy some quality HLB slapfighting and drama and want to kill some time this fine Monday afternoon, head on over to the Salads in the South thread. Then come back and explain to me what the hole is going on because honestly I cannot sort it all out.

Mr. KERF Won’t Waste Food

In yet another classic display of the Younger family’s civic mindedness, Matt, husband of KERF, has clarified his feelings about not selling the bread produced in his bakery.

I don’t understand. Donating it to local food banks in the dead of winter is the same thing as throwing it away? I mean…ok, fine, feel however you want as a business owner. But maybe if you want to pose yourself as some local family bidness at least publicly pretend to care about the local community.

Perhaps Natalie Jensen could purchase some to eat on the subway?

Christmas In Blogland Just As Boring As Anticipated

It’s that magical time of year, when bloggers try to out-twee each other on instagram while slamming diet Coke and perfect brownies. Bloggers will decorate and bake and style their holiday lives, and then Amaro filter it all just to make those of us sitting around in our unshowered glory aspire to a more a pinterestmas worthy life.

So if you’ve been too busy hustling your cats out of wrapping paper and taking your rum in shot glass form to follow along, here’s what your favorite bloggers are doing today.

The Million Dolla Skallas and the Derp family did matching pajamas in front of their trees. I don’t even know how you accomplish this, because I would think anything that an infant or toddler could wear would not be something a grown adult would find in their size (much less want their picture taken in), but…ok.

Hey Natalie Jean is evidently in Utah, where Strangles is wearing antlers that look like dookie and standing on his knees for some reason.

Young House Love of course posted their monthly gram. Not very holidayish other than the caption but at least they didn’t go for all matching outfits.

The HLBs settled for weird selfies and awkward family photos in Santa hats.

How are the holidays going for you hamcats? Is everyone drunk and/or ready for a nap yet?

Taralynn Would Like You To Give Her $100k

simplystupid

Taralynn, “healthy” living blogger, has a dream – and she wants you to finance it.

As you all know, I’ve been blogging for almost five years…I love what I do, but my dream is to open a cafe here in South Carolina.

She wants you to imagine “walking into a cafe/coffee shop that makes you feel as if you were in a different country, being able to order fresh food, and spend hours in the corner reading a book”, and says she is the girl to make that happen.

While traveling in Europe, I was inspired by the little coffee shops/cafes and want to bring some of that style into my own. Not only do I want to put my own ideas into the shop, I want advice from my readers.

She may not have a viable business plan but she will print every donor’s name on something in the cafe as a thank you, so, ya know, give generously and often. Surely the good people of Charlotte deserve to experience all the wonderful recipes available all over the internet!

Clare Respects Patient Privacy

Clare, Fitting In All The WTFs, is once again posting things she really has no place posting. This time it was a notebook filled with what appears to be filled with patient information.

clarebear

After some back and forth with commenters in which she tried to assure people it was fine and not at all a violation of patient privacy to post their names and test results to the internet because she made it sort of blurry now you guys, Clare eventually buhleted the photo.

This isn’t the first time Clarebear has used other humans for content – it was this side of six months ago when Nannygate occurred. Maybe she should stick to posting sweaty selfies and nutbutter blob pics.

Gina May Not Understand The Meaning Of Man Sized Portions

manportions

Gina, of healthy living blogger fame, is off at some (probably sponsored) reboot spa in Canada. While there, she is indulging herself by omgporkingout on “man portions” of food.

And by “man portions” she means a piece of toast, three cherry tomatoes, a pinch of sprouts, two slices of avocado, a blob of nut butter, and four pieces of feta. Seems legit.

Healthy Living Summit Closing For Good

After cancelling this year’s event the Healthy Living Summit has now announced they will be shutting down completely.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that the Healthy Living Summit is being shut down. After much thought and consideration, we’ve decided that this is the best move for our team and business. We will be leaving the website up until July 2015, and will no longer be updating our social media accounts, beginning today.

Well so much for that. Now where will HLBs get their self-importance jollies and bags of free KIND bars? We seriously need to take bets on which useless blog conference will shut down next, because they seem to be dropping left and right.
