Love Taza Mommy Blogging Have you ever wondered how this new wave of pinterest-like mommy bloggers manage to get all those those TOTES PRESH “candid” moments caught on film so perfectly? Now you know, thanks to an instagram video (has sound, so be sure to mute if you need to) shot by a friend of the Love Taza Family. The video shows what appears to be a typical day at the park for the children of a mommy blogger – going down a slide while their dad holds a huge camera in their faces all the way down, and mom standing to the side with her phone pointed at them, presumably recording the event for her instagram followers. Just more proof that this “little family blog” is basically a professional stage show starring the kids, and directed by the parents. Taza, quickly becoming Dooce with her newer, non-revealing content, husband who appears to have ended his own career to ride his wife’s coattails, and sponsored posts, is taking yet another step towards Doocedom – she and her stay at home husband are hiring an assistant. The prudent thing to do when you are internet semi-famous and have two small children would be to contact a reputable agency (or have your management agency do it for you) and hire a professional who will have a grip of NDA experience and a background check. But hey, why do that when you can put it up on instagram and watch as all your rabid fancujos crap themselves with glee and beg to be your nanny/bff? The resulting response was both hilariously sad and kind of scary. Fangirls offered to move from other countries in order to work for the Derps, and one said it’s “my Segway into friendship!” It really seems unsafe to employ some crazed fangirl who probably cares nothing about the actual job, and just has dreams of becoming Auntie Fangirl to your kids and The Famous Taza’s BFF4LYFE. Maybe this is how the kids are hiring these days, but I’m pretty sure that’s how the movie “Selena” started.
Josh Davis, aka Mr. Taza, appears to be reinventing himself. Like every other 20-something who watched David Karp happen, Mr. Taza seems to have dreams of becoming some kind of tech company “founder“. Thus, “Pippit” exists. From what can be surmised, Pippit is some kind of iPhone app that may or may not basically be Instagram with a reblog feature or some kind of pinterest type app. “Oh Joy” is speculated to be involved somehow, and the Pippit twitter follow list seems to indicate something similar. Just what New York needs – yet another guy trying to be a tech startup wannabe. Love Taza must be minting money if he can quit his job to play “founder”.
Lifestyle Blogging Love Taza Mommy Blogging Naomi, not pregnant, has announced on her blog that she is not pregnant, so everyone stop asking her. why do people keep commenting on here and on instagram congratulating me on being pregnant or asking if i’m pregnant or trying to be the first person to discover that i’m pregnant? i am not pregnant. i wish i was pregnant. but i am not pregnant. Saying “winter was just really delicious”, she proceeded to empty her brain out over her keyboard in a long post that basically said it’s mean to speculate whether an extremely popular married mommy blogger is pregnant because, privacy. i like to share, but then again, i also like being private…we women have a great power within us to build each other up, but sometimes human nature gets in the way and we kind of tear each other down through gossip or politics or critique instead…we’re all struggling with something, and we all deserve a kinder and gentler interaction with one another. You know, a simple response of “nope, not pregnant!” to those who ask on instagram would suffice. Instead we get 5,000 words that basically tell people to be nice to her and respect her privacy. I’m sorry honey, but you sold your privacy up the river when you decided to turn your life into a “brand”. If you can’t handle speculation and gossip maybe it’s time to shut it down before you get even more famous. Josh, man half of the sponsored family known as “Love Taza“, posted a picture of his daughter to instagram yesterday that caused a few people to ask “wtf”? Apparently the image features his toddler daughter running about with Q-Tips sticking out of her ears: The image obviously wound up sparking comments about the danger of “punctured little ear drums” because the entire point of the internet is to point out to people when they are basically celebrating their idiocy. And also because who lets their toddler run around with crap stuck into their ears? I mean, really Josh. Come on. Naomi, of the family branding machine “Love, Taza“, wants folks to remember that if you see an upper middle class white woman pushing a thousand dollar baby SUV, you should drop what you’re doing, hold the door, and let them go first. Because whatever you are doing or wherever you need to be, it’s simply not as important as being a mommy! Taza whoever, queen bee of the twee Mormon mommy blogging brigade (sorry Nat the Fat Rat), ensured at least a week’s worth of gushing fangirl traffic by announcing her next pregnancy via hipsterific Christmas e-card. As you can see above (from the picture she posted the following day) she’s about 5 minutes into her second trimester, so the mommy blogging fanclub can look forward to 5 more months of “I’m having another baby! Two kids under 5 how will I deal with it!” posts. Meanwhile, how are those of us without perfect/photogenic/sober families spending the holidays?
