Lifestyle Blogging Love Taza Mommy Blogging Naomi and Josh Davis, of the Von Derp Family Traveling Circus, took their omglittles to Australia. They have now posted a vlog of their journey and it’s a wonderful video featuring their kids being obnoxious for a day and a half. Highlights include their kids tearing around the airport screeching while Derp sits on the ground on his phone sorting out their visas, their kids spending hours on the plane screeching and reaching through the seats at each other, their baby opening a cup and flinging water, their kids climbing all over the plane, and one of their precious heavenly gifts rattling a Hungry Hungry Hippos toy. Unfortunately poor Mamajaw had to tolerate some people who apparently didn’t know how lucky they were to be in the presence of the famous Davis family. we did encounter our first not-so-nice person on one of our flights in australia who maybe made me cry which was super fun But she goes on to say “we were also fortunate on several of our flights to have empty seats around us, which was crazy amazing as we were able to spread out a little bit more and sleep” which, from the video it doesn’t look like a lot of sleep was happening but ok. About five minutes after they returned from Australia they went to speak at some RootsTech conference and did some interview where they “shared” why it’s “important to tell your story”. As usual they blather out a lot of words but don’t really SAY anything. Blah blah the usual Mormon thing of loving journaling, we are inspiring people with our everyday lives, what we do is super important, millions of people just can’t seem to stop being fascinated with us and watch all our videos. Which, ok, great; but what does all of this REALLY MEAN for their family as a whole in the long run? They are obviously a branded family now. Broadcasting their life is a business for them. Why not talk about the long term implications of selling their family’s lives to the highest bidder like the Kardashians? Like, where do they honestly see this going in 5 years? In 10? Enough with the lil ole us and our lil ole sharing the little joys sales spiel – we’ve all heard it a thousand times. Maybe they got into all that deeper stuff in their actual talk, but this interview just seemed like they were there to yet again recite their public relations ‘about us’ crap so it was kind of pointless imo. Anyway, there’s your update on what the increasingly boring never-ending vacationing Derps have been up to, for the 9 of you who care.
Lifestyle Blogging Love Taza Mommy Blogging Taza, of the Love Taza Family von Derps, has announced that the family is in Peru saving Peru and doing “service” in Peru. josh and i decided last minute to book this trip. like, we bought our plane tickets on friday morning and left early sunday! It’s so amazing they even invited her sister and father to come down because it’s her father’s birthday weekend. Don’t worry, they also brought a photo/videographer! it’s a party too, because our friend jenner (who has helped us put together our NYC guide videos and also traveled with us to amsterdam) is here for a few days! we thought it’d be a long shot when we called him friday night at like eleven in the evening all like, hey…. wanna come to peru and help us create something fun!? The pictures show intense service like serving soup and Papa Derp and Daughter Derp performing dances for their “new friends”, aka the captive audience just waiting for some food. Later, Derp Son One went around forcing everyone to shake his hand. he did it all on his own and it touched my heart so much! such a sweetheart. this experience has definitely been a powerful one for our family so far. The organization they are there for is called Cross-Cultural Solutions and apparently their goals are mostly things like fostering awareness and empowering non-first-world people. The site has stories of previous volunteers here, and honestly it sounds like poverty tourism for most of the volunteers. But hey, awareness! And blog content!
Jenna Cole, Jewish nudist, joins the blogger trend of questionable bicycle safety. This weekend she threw her two small children in a bike trailer thing and took off to attempt adult friendshipping again. But first she had to take photos showcasing her brave decision to wear a crop top. When readers asked her about the bike trailer she admitted “the listing from side-to-side is scary”, and stated the seats “have buckles/straps to hold them in, but I installed the seat covers backwards and haven’t flipped them around yet”. Of course the obvious happened – Jenna “forgot the advice I received when I first started biking in the city and went over some trolley tracks at a non-perpendicular angle while pulling the kids” and everyone went tail over teakettle onto the street. Despite what appear to be pretty painful scrapes and bruises, she brushed off the incident by saying she “was really happy when T1 retold the story and said that the experience taught him the importance of wearing a helmet”. Jenna then took her scraped and bruised children to the beach so they could splash around in saltwater. Love Taza, mama to littles, just loves doing everything as a family. This week the Love Taza show went out for a bike ride, as a family. The ride included strapping their 7 month old into a bike seat and slapping on a helmet that is clearly the correct size in order to wheel around an island metropolis with some of the most insane traffic in North America. But apparently Taza isn’t familiar with the bicycle laws in this little city of hers. The New York State Department of Transportation says: Children under 1 are prohibited from being transported on a bicycle (Sec. 1238(1)(2)). Of course silly things like laws can’t be acknowledged when there’s content to generate. When a few fangirls asked wtf she was thinking, Taza claimed (in a now apparently deleted comment) that her son’s pediatrician said it was totally okay. She then waved away further criticism on the matter by providing a disclaimer on her post. …i know the age varies a lot online about when little ones can or should begin to bike with you, so it’s always just best to consult with your pediatricians as they know your child best and if he or she is strong enough, able enough to ride along with you. i’m not an expert on anything around this topic… I know mommies are exempt from any judging ever but…don’t you think a mom who loves being a mom to her littles in this little city of theirs would know and follow the laws about this sort of thing? And obviously bloggers are special snowflakes and above the rules that apply to those of us who must drudge through this mortal coil without internet headpats; but at some point – maybe when you’re pushing 30 and are a mother of 3 – it stops being cute to giggle and do a kewpie doll pose and do some “golly garsh I just didn’t know! just sharing my life! here’s an affiliate link to our clothes!” Seriously, I’d like to know when “his pediatrician says it’s ok” started superseding state traffic laws. Maybe I should become a popular lifestyle blogger! Then the next time I don’t feel like curbing my dog I can just smile and say his vet says it’s ok to let him crap on your foot.
Fashion Blogging Internets Lifestyle Blogging Love Taza Mommy Blogging ShopStyle recently announced a “Snap Hub” in an attempt to help bloggers monetize their Snapchat posts, and suddenly everyone is joining the social media platform because money. Some, like Love Taza, don’t seem 100% into it yet; Naomi announced her account by saying she is “trying [it] out for a little while although I’m still not totally sold on it all”. But fashion bloggers are already starting to sign up and shove snapstyle affiliate linking onto their followers, directing them to the ShopStyle hubs to “shop my look”. There is no word on whether RewardStyle – the affiliate link behemoth that helped turn instagram into a liketoknowit link graveyard – is working on a similar program. Maybe now that Periscope is picking up speed RS may skip Snapchat altogether and go for monetization of live streaming video. Because everyone knows every social media platform ever anywhere must be monetized, and it’s all about who provides that capability first.
Internets Lifestyle Blogging Love Taza Mommy Blogging Joy Cho, who co-founded the womp womp known as Pippit alongside pals Josh and Naomi Davis of Love Taza, would like to share some advice with you would-be entrepreneurs. Business with a friend, a close personal friend, is usually not a great idea…it usually makes it such that something goes wrong…either one person is way more into it than another, either people have different needs…I’ve seen it tear friendships… Joy advises people to “really assess the friendship first”, “make sure you each have very clear roles”, and “make sure both people are really into it.” When you’re the one into it and you’re putting your whole mind your whole passion…everything into it…you have more room to grow when you’re not limited by another person… Coming less than a month after the announcement that Pippit has been discontinued, it does make one go ‘Hmmmmmm…’
Internets Lifestyle Blogging Love Taza Mommy Blogging Love Taza, as a family, is apparently selling off her clothes. She says she is in “crazy spring cleaning mode and wanted to sell a few favorites here before donating the rest”. For just $15 in shipping the highest bidder can own some used Anthro/Forever 21/J Crew/Zara clothing. The fire sale comes on the heels of the announcement that Pippit went to the big app farm in the sky. If nothing else, it’s amusing to see how much fangirls will pay for used clothes just because they touched the skin of Almighty Naomi.
