Hey Natalie Jean Internets Mommy Blogging Natalie Holbrook, they hydra of inconsistency, has sprouted yet another head. It seems Bratalie has decided to use (or maybe partnered with, who can tell these days since no one follows disclosure rules on instagram anymore) some shipping service for her closet sale – and of course since she loves the service so much, she made one of her super mature emoticon digs at the Postal Service. we’ll be mailing them your way with @teamshyp this time around, because as much as I love the post office… 😉 I assume this is part of her ‘tryin ta be real yo, hatin the post office’ crap in an effort to make her choice seem like an essential part of life. But weirdly she said this a mere six months ago: i took my sweet time at the post office. you guys, it’s just that i really love the post office, i do. i like those automated machines. i like memorizing the order of the buttons to push and seeing how fast i can clear through the menu. no i would not like extra insurance! i don’t know, it scratches all my itches. Now, nothing about this is truly outrage worthy. But it’s just another example of a blogger flip flopping on their opinions because of some service they are using. I mean, does anyone really believe these women will keep using that Blue Box service they were all pushing at the same time a month or so ago once it’s no longer free? Does anyone really believe some obscure mommy blogger makes enough to wear $400 rain coats if they aren’t sent to her for free? Aren’t readers ever going to notice these bloggers will wear/do/say just about anything if they get something in return? And they wonder why their ‘influence’ is fading, and why readers now assume any recommended service or product is a shill. Maybe try and stay consistent with your opinions and people will question you less, bloggers.
He’s still around on twitter, being classy.
Hey Natalie Jean Internets Lifestyle Blogging Mommy Blogging In a pretty transparent bid to attention grab away from Taza’s pregnancy announcement, Hey Natalie Jean finally revealed the over-hyped rebellion tattoo she’s been talking about getting since recorded time began. Unfortunately all she did was make the internet go “wait…that looks familiar”. Yep, in typical unoriginal Bratalie fashion, she got a design from a decorative pillow permanently placed on her shoulder. Of course she added her own ‘hipster arrow’ touch, because…yeah. Years of planning and talking and wanting and hyping it up on twitter and instagram, and this is what it was all about? Womp womp. What a failure of a thunder steal, because I’d rather talk about how Taza is going to fit three kids in that apartment.
Hey Natalie Jean Mommy Blogging Natalie Holbrook, tired of blogging is what, is still whining about her life. In a series of woe-is-tweets today she basically said she can’t wait until her life is easy again. Yes folks, it is super stressful raising a single child and uploading pictures of yourself in sack dresses. So much so, that only 4 days ago Natalie was bellyaching that she wished she could just stop blogging. Why is life so difficult, guyz? She then put on her Gloria Steinem hat (probably from Zara), got all feminist, and declared that the world is against women. Poor Bratalie. She’s just trying to “have it all”! Because she…has so little? I swear I have never seen someone with so much privilege moan so incessantly about the mere exercise of living. But hey, she got a bunch of twitter hugs and “you go girl/you’re a hero” belly rubs, so I guess the validation fishing worked, right?
Hey Natalie Jean Mommy Blogging Poor Natalie Jean. Turns out snagging that validating book deal and trying to be a professional blogger isn’t all she thought it would be. It seems her post-rebrand sponsorbombing didn’t go the way she hoped, and Bratalie has now decided to air her bitterness: last year I signed with an agency thinking it would simplify things, make a clear delineation in my head between “sponsored” and “personal,” but the agency in question fed me a bunch of bull Crap to get me to sign and then later had to release me from my contract because I was trying to be “too choosy.” Going on to complain that “blogging has hit a gross, weird level”, she claims she wants to shut it down – but cant: I dream almost daily of turning it all off, but it’s come to the point where i have a book deal and obligations and i just actually, literally can’t. i’m not allowed to. Despite feeling this way she then attempts to justify making no effort to get out of blogging by saying “I try to make it worth it somehow. convince myself i’m helping pay off loans with the income, or paying for a little vacation here or there”. While part of me wants to feel sorry for her, the truth is she backed herself into this corner. According to her, she’s been blogging for 8 years. I find it hard to believe she had no idea what she was getting herself into when she signed these contracts. And she seems to have no problem getting c/o clothes and experiences when they are something she wants. To throw her former agency under the bus because it turned out to be too hard or didn’t go how she anticipated is incredibly unprofessional. She’d better hope this book is a best-seller, because this little pout party just effectively ended her chances of being taken seriously as a professional blogger.
