Hey Natalie Jean Internets Hey Natalie Jean, has a loft in Brooklyn, is apparently leaving Brooklyn. Moscow. In a totally believable statement she claims she is “giddy with excitement” right after opining that “Brooklyn I am not done with you!…Tub? Are you going to sit there and let this happen?” Natalie goes on to say she is “soooo getting chickens this time” and “a goat!!!!!!!” Since about 95% of her online persona/identity is wrapped up in her omgbrooklynloft and being a Brooklyn hipster creative I look forward to seeing what persona she takes on after her move.
Hey Natalie Jean Lifestyle Blogging Hey Natalie Jean, totally almost Jewish, bids you Gut Shabbos with a timely and hilarious Anne Frank post to her instagram. Live from her hashtagged European tour we present a totally ok joke to make on a Saturday of all days. You have to hand it to her – she really knows how to close out Pesach, am I right?
‘Hey Natalie Jean’, the book by Natalie Jean, seems to be disappointing about 50% of the planet. As usual Natalie will blame someone else for why it’s not anything like what she promised it would be. Abrams requested a traditional coffee table blog-to-book kind of deal; a lot of photos, all lifestyle advice–such is the market (for a while they wanted recipes? disaster!)–and that really scared me…There was a bit of a song + dance that had to go on in order to keep a lot of the essays that made it in the final manuscript–Abrams wanted a ham sandwich, light on the infertility. I was prepared to write a Reuben. Natalie then tries to cover her butt with the publishing world by adding “as far as ham sandwiches go, I happen to think my ham sandwich is probably the best one you can get”. She also claims that she wanted to write a bunch of meaningful essays because she is “far, far less comfortable positioning myself as some kind of advice-giver on aaaaanything” despite the fact that she has heavily branded herself as “the authority on creating a beautiful, hip, dreamy life”. Evidently this is part of her the meaty stuff will be in my NEXT book campaign, because she keeps mentioning something about ‘next time’ it will be more essays. Whatever.
Book Club Hey Natalie Jean Lifestyle Blogging Mommy Blogging WTF I received a lovely gift today – a copy of ‘Hey Natalie Jean’, the world tour worthy freshman book effort by the blogger formerly known as Nat the Fat Rat. Because I so enjoy drinking and falling on grenades for my GOMIBLOG hamily, I will now proceed to use my day off to read this with a bottle or five of prosecco and update this post in real time with my thoughts, including pictures. Just keep on hitting refresh – I’ll get the first part up and then continue updating as I read. Off we go!
Hey Natalie Jean Internets Lifestyle Blogging This is a quick post because it’s five minutes until noon and I have to get ready to start drinking, but the sample pages for the ‘Hey Natalie Jean‘ book are online. You can check them out here. I think we can all agree this is a tome worthy of a world tour. And we haven’t had an open post in a while, so you can also go nuts about other topics if you like.
Hey Natalie Jean Lifestyle Blogging Mommy Blogging Natalie Holbrook, who recently implied her family can’t afford “private” pre-k for their child unless she bombards her blog with affiliate links, is apparently taking her 176 page vanity book on a worldwide tour. Saying she has “a gold saint christopher, patron saint of traveling, for good book tour planning juju”, she claims her “first stop come april” is “berlin!” and went on to tweet that she’ll be all over Europe afterwards – presumably promoting her ‘book’. She also hinted she’ll be jetting around the U.S. saying she was “having a hard time picturing which states came in what order when i began the planning for my stateside book tour”. I guess her publishers are expecting Bratalie to be the next J.K. Rowling or something if they are sending her on a promotional trip of this magnitude. And yes, I am assuming someone is footing the bill for this globe trotting since poor little Natty was claiming this side of two weeks ago that they needed the “help in the income department” from her shopping posts full of affiliate crap.
Fashion Blogging Hey Natalie Jean Lifestyle Blogging Hey Natalie Jean, curator, announced this side of last year that she wanted her purchases to “mean something”. over the last year or so i’ve been on a bit of a personal odyssey to really examine the way i spend my money and why…earlier last year i made the quiet decision not to shop at forever 21 anymore…for the most part i’ve stuck to it, and i’m really pretty proud of myself for it. because as much of a thrill as a good cheap forever 21 score is, for me it’s a short-lived thrill, and ethically, it’s not something i’m proud of. So when she kicked off Fashion Week with a post called “What You Should Be Buying At Forever 21 Right Now” – filled to the brim with affiliate links for the fast fashion retailer’s wares – a few people wanted to know what happened to her big ethical stance. To which Bratalie responded: you know, i don’t do it in good conscience. i think about it, i worry about it, every time i do one of these posts, it weighs on me. i know this is me taking the easy way out over here, but i’m hoping that these posts are fun to read, that maybe you can get style ideas from it, and that, in the end, readers will make their own call about what they will and won’t support with their money, and how you can make the biggest impact in making our world a better place for our kids. i try to showcase as many opportunities for that as i can. maybe those posts can be the ethical fashion equivalent of a carbon offset, because heavens knows NONE of us are perfect… Bratalie went radio silence when another reader asked “If you don’t do it in good conscience, why do it?” As if she didn’t know – for pageclick$$$$ baby! I have to wonder what Ratty will do now that Pinterest is banning affiliate links? Her blog might just turn into one big bitly bait to make up for it!
