Internets Sarah Lacy, pregnant, is really keeping her promise of not talking about baby baby baby by informing all of us fine obese catladies that even with a human being growing inside her, she is still a size 4: First of all, why do we need the size information? Second, EVERYONE can fit into ANY wrap dress – sometimes clear up to the ride to the hospital and then on the way home. The dang things are DESIGNED that way, moron. Third…why did we need to know it’s a size 4 again? I don’t really get why that tidbit needed to be included. Anyway, if you hadn’t heard, Sarah Lacy is pregnant. Don’t worry, she won’t let you forget it! In a shocking event that surprised users (no not really), tumblr had an issue this morning. A “typo in a PHP tag allowed users to see source code” and supposedly also allowed people to see usernames and passwords. According to google cache at least some users were compromised: but tumblr’s response claims otherwise: We’re certain that none of your personal information (passwords, etc.) was exposed, and your blog is backed up and safe as always. This was an embarrassing error, but something we were prepared for. The fact that this occurred at all is still unacceptable, and we’ll be seriously evaluating and adjusting our processes to ensure an error like this can never happen again. So, everyone might want to go change their passwords. Just to make sure.
Brian Van, guy who was arrested for being drunk in public, is now refuting claims that he was drunk at the time of his arrest: The circumstances under which I was arrested involved me getting a public beatdown from an unknown number of security staff and police officers AT AN OFFICIAL SXSW INTERACTIVE EVENT, while I was completely defenseless to prevent it. I sustained injuries in the attack (I’m having them evaluated today) and I could have been killed. I have hard evidence that I was very much sober (and not violating the law) at the time. Furthermore, the resisting arrest charge is EXTREMELY serious and, as it was told to me, is “like bread and butter” in Austin with public intoxication arrests. At no point did I resist full cooperation with any police officers on any matter throughout the evening. I’ve had to retain a criminal defense attorney to face these charges. It’s going to be very expensive even if I prevail. I’m facing a year in jail. Do you hear that, assholes? He wasn’t drunk. The security staff just beat him down and the police arrested him for no reason! So like, stop being an asshole, internets! A lot of people have said a lot of things over the Internet the past couple of days, and (unsurprisingly) they were very much misguided about the nature of the incident. I am unsurprised at this, being that I purposely released information about my arrest (in order to summon help), but it is still disappointing. Reading a booking report online does NOT make you an expert in how I conduct my personal affairs. I am committed to personal responsibility and proper behavior at all times. I made it a point to say repeatedly that I was NOT going to be a drunken douchebag at SXSWi, and for this to have happened is all very ironic to say the least. Ok, 1) who capitalizes “Internet”??? and 2) nobody was claiming to be an expert on your drunken (or otherwise) antics, sweetpea. And nobody cares what you’re committed to. We just wanted to laugh at the dude who got arrested at SXSW. Welcome to the internet: committed to pointing and laughing at everything. Sarah Lacy, pregnant, will not allow us to forget she is pregnant. After vowing not to become a mommy blogger, she has taken to her twitter to talk about baby this and baby that: @kross182 i love the idea that pregnancy will finally stop people commenting (good or bad) on my looks! 😉2:24 PM Mar 9th via web in reply to kross182 my book party was amazing last night, tho’ the baby wanted to sleep-in today 😉 huge thanks to @techcrunch and everyone who came!2:45 PM Mar 10th via web @hermioneway you are young. do a startup first. I’ve had a packed 15 year career and traveled the world pre-baby.5:08 PM Mar 10th via web in reply to hermioneway @Orli thanks! it’s baby glow– i can’t take the credit 😉5:52 PM Mar 11th via web in reply to Orli my (unborn) baby on jet lag: “WTF HAVE YOU DONE TO ME LADY!? IT’S 2 PM! I WANT BREAKFAST!”4:59 PM Mar 12th via web @randizuckerberg babies are TYRANTS!6:42 PM Mar 12th via web in reply to randizuckerberg I guess since it’s techinally fetus blogging it doesn’t really count. And hey I get it, miracle of life and all. But she’s starting to sound like every annoying facebook feed ever belonging to pregnant ladies. ‘I am SO TIRED because of my BABY! So hungry because I am PREGNANT! My fetus is demanding PIZZA!’ god stfu. How did attention whores survive pregnancy before the internet? Seriously. Tatiana Mdkasjio7397824ja, of Love Lies Lace, is just overwhelmed with her hectic life of blowing bubbles for her dog and having tea parties with her omghusband. She is stretched so thin, in fact, that she requires some very intense scheduling: Take a good long look at the picture above? Does that feel like life sometimes? More often than maybe we would like to admit? Yes, life is just like sitting in a big teacup at Disneyland, you overgrown useless child. I’m going to put my hand up and say yes, for goodness sakes I have two calendars, one journal entirely devoted to to-do lists, electronic reminders and print outs of schedules, dates and deadlines to keep me on track. It must be difficult to keep track of what to pack for your picnic, and which Disney princess to pretend to be! I miss lunch an embarrassing number of times a week and I’ve been guilty of leaving wet towels in the washer all week… And yet I still feel like it’s not enough, I’m not working hard enough, I’m not… good enough?? Guess what, you’re right! You are NOT good enough. You are a crappy writer. You have the most odious sense of self-delusion about how awesome-yet-difficult your life is I’ve seen since I stopped following Julia Allison. You are not a good housewife if you can’t take ten minutes off from grimacing at your camera to take freaking laundry out of the washing machine. You are not a good friend if you, in all your unemployed day, can’t manage to take an hour to listen to a friend over lunch. You are not a good wife if you spend your husband’s money on Crap like clothes for your dog and ingredients for pretentious trendy food and glasses you don’t even need or weekly mini-vacations you didn’t earn. You aren’t a good blogger because all you talk about is yourself, and even when you try to engage your audience you’re just trying to get them there so you can get money for yourself and continue to convince yourself and some internet strangers that you are likable and adorable. There are people who can’t get a job to feed their kids. There are people in their 30’s moving back in with their parents because the economy is such crap that they got evicted after losing their jobs. There are children in Los Angeles that don’t eat for days. There are people who live on the streets. There are people who have ONE calendar and somehow it is adequate for managing their kids, job, marriage, bills, and other activities. Tatiana – shut up. Jessica Quirk, size 4 xs can fit in children’s clothes, is being the brave advocate of comfort and acceptance today, and informing us that she knows she LOOK GOOOOOD and will wear an elastic waist if she wants: As I’m editing these photos, I keep thinking to myself “someone is going to tell me this isn’t a very flattering shirt” to which I answer (in my head) – “yes, you’re right! it’s a men’s shirt, it’s over sized and in combination with the elastic waist you cannot see – it’s holea comfortable.” Then I skip to my next internal question to myself which is “why do I have to dress to look thin flattering everyday?” I know what I look like underneath my clothes! And like 99.5% of women in the world, there’s just times when I don’t feel my most slender and I just want to wear what I want to wear! So instead of posting just “flattering” photos, I’m just posting what this outfit looks like. And while I do believe that wearing clothing to accentuate and highlight your assets is a great method to getting dressed, I still think there’s a place to just wear things that don’t make you look thinner than you are once and a while, even if you are a fashion blogger. Considering the fact that there is no one more enamoured of themselves than Jessica Quirk I don’t think she needed to give us this whole novel about self-love. Honey we know you love yourself. And we know you’re thin under your “every day is laundry day” outfits. And no, most women don’t spend their entire day taking pics of themselves and fretting over how to make their hips smaller and their legs longer (maybe 20 minutes, tops, on a schlub day). Basically this whole post sounds like a big “f you” to anyone who is saying she’s being lazy and mediocre lately. Even setting aside the snark I could release on her ‘if a fashion blogger wears sweatpants in the forest it’s still fashion’ stance up there, I could spend 30 minutes with a red pen correcting her Crapty writing. There was seemingly no point to this post other than “HEY HATORZ F YOU I DRESS FOR ME AND PS IM SKINNY SUCKERS”. At least she’s clipping those bangs out of her face. In a depressing announcement that can only mean God is never allowed to take a day off from preventing evil again, Sarah Lacy has announced she will soon be producing a mini-elitist: I’m only saying this now because it’s increasingly hard to hide, even with the new desk at TechCrunchTV. Also, I’m going to see 200 of you at my book party tomorrow and I hate when people are too scared to ask because, well, no one ever got slapped for not asking a woman if she was pregnant. But rest assured, I am NOT becoming a mommy blogger. And while my hormones are convincing me my baby is definitely the most awesome baby in the world, there is a time and place to browbeat friends with that information. It’s not here. At which point Sarah then posts a sonogram of little Damien. Yeeeeah. I give it about 12 seconds post-birth before LittleLacy.com is open for mommy blogging business.
