Internets Lifestyle Blogging Sunshine Mary, anti-feminism hero and rape culture denier, has announced she is leaving the internet. I would like to let readers know that I have reached the very difficult decision to stop writing my blog. This is a sad and hard post for me to write, but I feel that an explanation ought to be given here. I have been the victim of a vicious (and needless) smear campaign; this is not a problem per se, but my children have been brought into it and their safety and security has been compromised. As a mother, I cannot continue to write this blog if it endangers my family. Saying “It is not my preference to do this, but my hand has been forced and I am left with no other options” due to “the extreme aggression of two women” Sunshine Mary then went on to detail the alleged harassment, even including the text of an email supposedly sent around containing links to her daughter’s (public) Google+ account. Well, if nothing else this will probably just confirm for Sunshine Mary that all women except her are evil bortches. As if she needed further nudging towards hating anything with a vagina. Well it seems that “behold the glory of us” project the Wiegands announced last year is finally finished. “American Blogger” now has a trailer up on vimeo and is apparently “coming soon”. The trailer claims its “stunning cinematography” will “leave you feeling inspired” by a “movement” that “could change the world”. It then features a bunch of bloggers talking about how awesome blogging is, with the usual such brave, much influential self-back patting. One blogger explains it all by saying “If we’re keeping it private, why are we experiencing it?” I’ve said from the start that this entire project just seems like a way for the Wiegands to circle jerk with their blogger friends. This has to be the most self-indulgent tripe that has come out of the blogging world to date, and I don’t understand why it needs to exist or what it offers to the world of cinema. But hey, some hipster got to take a road trip in his Airstream and call himself a filmmaker, and a bunch of bloggers got to rhapsodize about their own importance. Hooray, internets.
Larry, everyone’s favorite internet swain, is back with a new episode of Everybody Loves RoRo. He’s now explaining to us why he is so confused by “feminists”: I was never really aware of there being so many feminists in America until I created my website, I just always thought these types of women with these thoughts/attitudes were either bull dykes, ugly women that can’t get laid, or straight up bortches…I had no idea that these are what are actually known as “feminists”! haha!!!! He explains that when he thinks of the word “feminist” he pictures “beautiful women that are very submissive and feminine and lady like, you know the way real women are supposed to be” but that these other, “stupid feminists” are “ugly & have such disgusting manly attitudes”. He continues on for a while, blithering about how he would break up with a woman for being so “inconsiderate” as to cut her hair, and working himself up into a fine MRA lather over why women don’t seem to understand that they need to constantly look like they fell off the pages of Maxim for their men. Finally, spittle flying, he closes out his weird rant by wondering why women can’t just “submit to some of these things a man likes and let him be a dang man”. I just don’t understand how he’s still single. Better hurry and snatch him up, ladies! Meet Larry, aka “Romeo Rose”, the delightful prize for some lucky thin white non-goldigger. This slice of man life is looking for his perfect woman. I am willing to pay anyone $1,500 as a finders fee for anyone that can help find me a girlfriend. (I will give you a extra $1,000 as a bonus if this turns into marriage, I offer this extra bonus as I hope it will motivate you to find me a woman of great quality) And what constitutes ‘great quality’, you ask as you peep over your copy of ‘The Male Gaze Should Rule Your Existence’? Well Larry’s main criteria seem to be: I want the girl to be attractive. Larry also declares he would never be with a woman “that has ever had a threesome, or a large number of past sexual partners” because he doesn’t want “a promiscuous slut”. But don’t worry girls, he’s no prude – he loves “when a girl wears sexy lingerie in the bedroom! Especially thigh highs!” He closes out his list with by assuring us girls he also has “a very high sex drive.” In his FAQ he says he’s already tried online matchmaking sites, but they were inadequate: “Half of them were women I liked and would have liked to had a long term relationship with, but they never seen me again after the first date or two.” This is baffling to poor Larry because he’s a versatile and appealing prize, being “an Artist, Musician, Poet, Composer, Performer, Businessman, I am many things” – he informs us “I am a very unique man.” Why, who wouldn’t want to strap on this feedbag full of sex and snowflakeyness? There’s no update on his site about anyone taking him up on his offer yet. Ah well, maybe Patti Stanger will give him a call. By now most of the internet world has heard of Blair Koenig, creator of the blog “STFU, Parents“. And most of those people also know by now that she recently released a book of the same name, resulting in a flurry of interviews and tv appearances full of the usual “tell me about your blog” and “but you don’t have kids” questions. This week Blair took the time to participate in a different sort of interview with GOMIBLOG. Read on to find out why she remained anonymous for so long, why she feels “like an outcast sometimes”, and what has (and hasn’t) changed since her success. Tumblr, yeah I guess people still use it, announced yesterday that after a year of posting stuff their “editorial team” is being disbanded: A year ago, Tumblr did something unprecedented — we created an editorial team of experienced journalists and editors assigned to cover Tumblr as a living, breathing community. The team’s mandate was to tell the stories of Tumblr creators in a truly thoughtful way — focusing on the people, their work, and their stories. The result of this ambitious experiment was Storyboard. After hundreds of stories and videos, features by publishers ranging from Time to MTV to WNYC — not to mention a nomination for a James Beard Award and entries into this year’s NY Press Club Awards — we couldn’t be happier with our team’s effort. And as Tumblr continues to evolve, we’ll always be experimenting with new ways to shine light on our creators. What we’ve accomplished with Storyboard has run its course for now, and our editorial team will be closing up shop and moving on. I want to personally thank them for their great work. And please join us in wishing them well. So basically, “Great job guys, now get lost!” But really I don’t see why tumblr keeps trying to be some world tastemaker about everything from fashion to content to gifs. Why can’t they just stick to running a blogging platform and be done with it? Maybe spend those resources giving users the features they’ve been wanting for years now? Brain Pickings “curator” Maria Popova supposedly finances her site via donations and subscriptions, claiming to refuse advertising because she doesn’t “believe in this model of making people into currency”. Evidently nobody told Maria that littering your posts with affiliate links is virtually the same thing as plastering ads all over your site. She supposedly doesn’t disclose that she uses affiliate links because she doesn’t consider them “advertising”, even though as On Advertising points out, “[I]n every description of the service, Amazon calls the revenue made by partner websites ‘advertising fees'”. It seems rather hypocritical of Maria to repeatedly shame people for not having stricter ethics regarding their revenue generating tactics when, in the words of my source, she herself is “making bank from Amazon affiliate links while 1) not disclosing that she has them, 2) claiming the site is ad-free, and 3) asking for donations from readers because the site is ad-free”. I understand we all gotta make a buck. But if you’re going to promote yourself as some holier-than-thou, so-above-all-that intellectual antidote to an SEO and advertising obsessed world you might want to make sure your own disclosure ethics are above reproach.

Larry Busby Wants To Buy A Skinny White Redhead

Being overweight is a total dealbreaker with me.
Redheads are my favorite, next is Brunettes, and next is Blondes, in that order.
I will not date a Black girl. I don’t care if she looks like Halle Berry, I will not ever date a Black girl.
I do not like glasses on a girl.
I do not like tattoos on a woman…To me, tattoos just represent white trash or somone that’s been in prison.
I do not like strippers! I will not date any girl that has ever been a stripper.
I prefer a woman that has never had children, because having kids does ruin a womans body often times.
