Internets It would appear that despite the huge publicity surge on her behalf, Megatits McCain is not hurtling toward best selling author status: @mccainblogette lookie what I found today in Costco! Proud of you! http://twitpic.com/2rodeh 11:20 PM Sep 24th via Twitpic Retweeted by McCainBlogette and 1 other @ShanManOnline Thank you, love it! crazy to see Dirty Sexy Politics sold at Costco!! 11:21 PM Sep 24th via web You read that correctly – Meghan’s book is now available at Costco only weeks after its release. It’s pretty sad considering all the press she was able to get recently, that she still can’t manage to sell 5,000 books. Maybe I’m wrong and it was always the plan to sell them at Costco? Maybe sales will pick back up after she resumes her book tour: first real time off in months – was gonna rest up for phase two next week of my Dirty Sexy Politics book tour 3:42 PM Sep 22nd via web I can’t wait to see how Californians react to her book signings. It’s been a week since she mentioned it, so Jessica Quirk is making sure we don’t forget she had a wedding: Got the photos from my photographer from the wedding!!! Putting together posts now! about 4 hours ago via web You may not know this, but the outcome of her wedding was she got herself a husband, and her husband can cook! Thank god I married a chef. Nice dinner tonight @quirk Saturday, September 25, 2010 8:04:31 PM via Twitter for BlackBerry® I know, it’s like she won the husband lottery, right? Off topic, I can’t wait until November when the hints about a beautiful miracle and wonderful accident and yadda yadda start popping up. If she thinks it’s hard to lose weight now wait until she’s packed on 50 lbs of baby weight. The meltdown when she discovers nothing at Modcloth will fit her anymore will be hilariously sad. I hope you whatiwore readers are prepared for 4 more weeks of Jessica Schroeder Mrs. Quirk’s Wedding Posts reminding you that Jessica got married and had a wedding and is now married, because she had a wedding. Wedding wedding wedding!
Jordan Reid would like to thank all you loyal tumblr followers by begging for more followers: Oh, jeez… I can’t believe I forgot to mention… I have a little surprise gift for one of my beloved Tumblrers. I miss you. I am sorry I forsook you for WordPress, but I thank you for staying with me. Please know that I check in on you all the time, and am so grateful for your continued support. The little surprise gift has to do with haircare, and you will like it. Maybe even love it. So how about I give it to the 20th new reader to follow me on Tumblr starting…NOW?! Updated! My 20th lovely new follower: CuzCarolinaCares. Email me at jordan@ramshackleglam.com so I can send you a surprise! Let me see if I got this: She uses wordpress for her highly successful shill blog, and pretty much only has a tumblr as a sort of RSS feed. (Not knocking that. We here at GOMIBLOG also do that.) She basically ignores her tumblr and tumblr readers. So now she wants MORE followers to ignore? Sounds like someone has a pitch to a sponsor coming up and needs some numbers. Sarah Lacy, expert on startups, thinks commenters are stupid and obviously did not even read her link bait before posting: @bryanl that’s what commenters do. anyone arguing this downturn was hardest on tech is living in a sad fantasy. no evidence at all. about 21 hours ago via web in reply to bryanl furthermore, it’s insulting to industries that *were* hit. america has more poor than ever before but it’s also still richest country. #duh about 21 hours ago via web comments on my recession post = iq test to see if you can read a whole article. indefensible this recession worse than 2000 on tech. obvious about 21 hours ago via web i’d argue it’s so obvious if anything the story wasn’t that newsy. sad tho that people are so angry they need to twist reality and facts. about 21 hours ago via web Yeah, dumbasses! If you have to twist her words to make it sound like she doesn’t know anything about economics, well, you just have a low IQ. No wonder she didn’t bother to respond to critics directly in the comments! Why would such a towering intellect as Sarah Lacy lower herself to interacting with such mongoloids? Keep on taking the high road, Pinchyface! Was informed via email that antibiotic ointments (like Neosporin) moisturize just as well as Vaseline, in addition to preventing infection. Good to know! Jesus. A Harvard graduate, ladies and gentlemen. Sarah Lacy, possessor of undeniable charm and tact, has posted yet another well researched screed to the crappiest tech blog out there. Is it about moving the homeless out of her neighborhood? Slow service that only seems to happen at ethnic restaurants? Smelly people on planes? Nope! It’s Sarah Lacy telling you people to stop complaining about this fictional recession! With the news this week that the recession officially ended in June 2009, there’s a ton of commentary about how it still feels like we’re in recession. But from where I sit, it never felt much like a recession at all. Revenues tightened up and people didn’t get raises, but I don’t know any friends who lost apartments, few who lost jobs and few companies that went under, just because of the crash…… My point: Stop whining. If you couldn’t raise money your company probably wasn’t working, which doesn’t mean it was bad, it just means you were a startup trying to do something risky that didn’t work. If no startups go under–in good times and bad times–entrepreneurs and investors likely aren’t taking enough risk. If you lost your job–and you work in tech– you likely either worked for a public company that had more systemic problems (cc: Yahoo, eBay) or the recession was an excuse to get rid of you. Either way, you likely have been rehired somewhere since. While commenters are claiming Miss Sarah is writing only about SF (on a worldwide tech news site? Why?) and otherwise defending her, I’m going to say Mama has a new book to sell and it’s time to get some press. The quickest way to do that is to post an inflammatory and insensitive post about the Crapty job market and thumbing her nose at people in worse circumstances than Princess Petal. Basically it’s just an obvious attempt at controversy-as-free-press for her book. Next. Marco Arment, that bald dude who has coded fail into tumblr (it’s a FEATURE!) has stepped down as CTO to go focus on coding Crap that might actually work. According to Business Insider:

Tumblr cofounder and CTO Marco Arment is stepping down from his full-time role within the company to focus on “independent” projects, he announced this morning. He’ll continue as a consultant to Tumblr.
In the grand tradition of tumblr innovation they will soon be hiring a hipster tumblr user with no actual job experience, but someone who knows every obscure R. Crumb joke and likes creating memes. They will also, obviously, be awesome.
