Internets Meaghan O’Connell, master of the myspace angle and editrix of yet another tumblr book, is implying other people are ugly. Tyler Coates, one of the many oversensitive, obsessed with moving to New York/ Brooklyn bashing contributors to her epic tome, took “oblivious to irony” to a new level when he posted the pic of a guy who posted a pic of his friends…or something… I am blocking some asshole on Tumblr who reblogged a picture of my friends and called them fat. What the ?about 10 hours ago via TweetDeck To really hit it home, THIS MAN reblogged a picture of my friends, saying that they are fat: http://bit.ly/bByRKNabout 10 hours ago via TweetDeck Poundcake, Director of Outreach for tumblr, reached out with this response: @tylercoates there’s a reason that the operative word here is troll.about 5 hours ago via web in reply to tylercoates Wow, really? What happened to these people being above this sort of thing? Being better than the ‘trolls’? And seriously? Internet rule number one, fat people aren’t allowed to call people fat without sounding totally ridiculous, so that “troll” fails at life. Now, rule number two: people who are bucktoothed, below average looking, and incompetent at their absurdly simple job shouldn’t be calling anyone anything remotely dismissive or derogatory, Poundcake. Seriously none of this needed to be announced. This is the sort of petty NO YOU ARE behavior these people indulge in when they think no one will notice (or think they are allowed because they are so otherwise superior). Just a bunch of childish self-important hipsters showing their asses. Get real jobs already! Note: Also, Poundcake I was wrong about your hair. Stop growing it out and cut it back to that under the chin bangs Crap you had. Jordan Reid, poster of recipes, lover of food, is showing her respect for your recipe by totally effing up your recipe: Sunday morning, I made a retooled version of Sharyn’s Spinach Quiche for Nadine and Kendrick. It may look pretty, but…eh. I tried to make it a touch healthier by skipping the cheese and replacing the heavy cream with light cream, and I left out the fried onions because I couldn’t find them in my supermarket, and all of these things were bad ideas. It was too spinach-y, and oddly textured, and since I used fewer ingredients, the filling didn’t quite reach the top of the piecrust. Ah, well. Lesson learned: when something’s as good as Sharyn’s quiche, you don’t mess with it. Jordan, here’s a protip from a true kitchen Columbus (I fkn INVENTED drinking Franzia while you wait for your Easy Mac): Don’t try to make Crap healthier. If it involves eggs and cheese and heavy cream, and you want something healthy, then don’t eat quiche. You aren’t a good enough chef to wing it with a recipe substitution, Chompers. Stop punishing your husband’s stomach just because you think you are that weird faced chick on the cover of Every Day. Just mash an avocado and add it to something next time, you seem able to accomplish that safely enough.
It’s been over a week, so you may have forgotten the most important event of the internet year: Jessica Schroeder’s wedding to that quirk asshole. Well, wait no more: Messica has finally taken a moment from her hectic Fashion Week schedule to post pics of her wedding dress! My initial reaction? Just whelmed. Last Sunday I was the luckiest girl in the world when I married Adam. My brother performed the quick, outdoor ceremony and everything was absolutely perfect. I’ll be posting more photos from the wedding in the coming weeks, but these are a couple Adam and I took while we snuck out of our reception. So yeah, as predicted Messica is going to be one of those chicks that starts every 5th sentence or post with either “before my wedding” or “at my wedding” or “after my wedding”, with a few “my husband and I” to spice it up. She obviously thinks everyone is interested enough in her wedding to not just do one big post on her WEDDING SITE, but to do “more photos in the coming weeks”. UUUUUUUGH. Just wait till around Christmas when she announces she is pregnant. It’s only going to get less fashion/more Messica from here on out, kids. Fresh on the heels of users posting laundry lists of complaints, David Karp, the 20-something playing CEO of tumblr, went out and got himself a present: Just got this! It’s registered to Rachel since the insurance was cheaper. 🙂 Is this just how Karp deals with getting handed money or getting criticism? I’m all for him enjoying all that free money, but it just feels like he’s been on a 4 month spending spree. But what do I know, maybe he is using that 10 million in venture capital to improve the tumblr user experience, hire qualified professional staff, and get the queue feature working again, and I’m just a jealous hater. Did you know Messica is married? And has a husband? Oh, and she is doing some Fashion Week stuff or something. Great phone chat and advice from my husband. Dang! I love him!!! about 23 hours ago via Twitter for BlackBerry® Hanging out waiting for #adam to start. Saying it makes me think of my adam @quirk about 22 hours ago via Twitter for BlackBerry® All of my blogger girl friends were so cute to keep calling me ‘Mrs. Quirk’ tonight 🙂 about 12 hours ago via Twitter for BlackBerry® Can’t wait for adam to get back from Indiana today!! about 3 hours ago via Twitter for BlackBerry® Since Mr. Schroeder is returning to his wife, maybe if you folks are lucky Messica will stay home today: Its raining, I’m hung over and its an hour to get to Lincoln Center. Might be playing hookie today about 2 hours ago via Twitter for BlackBerry® Oh NO! Will FWNY come to a grinding halt without the most important married blogger of our time??? Can nothing be done??? Poopo? Guys? What do you mean no one cares?!
Meaghan O’Connell, hot chick, is famous for two things: eating donuts, and great tumblr public interaction things. That’s how we know that this guy is totally lying about Poundcake being an incompetent nincompoop: I had arranged a Tumblr Meetup in London. I decided that I would give Tumblr 3 weeks notice for their sticker package and for them to add it to the website. I arranged it and ended up emailing a week after my initial contact as I had recieved no human response and was worrying that I would not get a reply in time. Unfortunately she posted it 30 minutes earlier than I had asked her to and labeled it with a “16+” age limit and I still had no stickers. This was a problem for two reasons; I had to leave work 30 minutes earlier to wait for anyone who got the wrong time due to her mistake. Since it was at a bar, any 16 year olds or 17 year olds that turned up due to her incompetency would be turned down due to their being a strict 18+ age policy. Since I had already said this in the email, my annoyance was further enhanced by her “I’m awesome” comment. She then proceeded to update the age limit, but forgot the time. And told me that they ship them every 2 weeks and to give them more notice next time, even though I gave her over 3 weeks notice. So yeah, who really cares about the meetup problem, the best part of this story is her hilarious response to his emails: What? She’s just telling the truth, people. She is like, SO AWESOME. Everyone says so. She is hot, and is changing ratios! Now if you’ll excuse her, this email to Steve Jobs saying HA THIS LOL TUMBLR I LIKE PIE isn’t going to send itself! Mary Rambin, who recently admitted nobody gave enough of a dump to sponsor her groundbreaking fashion week coverage, couldn’t be happier that she is in Houston “working” and being forgotten about: On my agenda for #NYFW In other words, it’s just another week for me. And I couldn’t be happier. Honestly. For those of you who enjoyed my coverage, I apologize I couldn’t continue this season. I’m sure it’s exciting being at Lincoln Center and there are PLENTY of bloggers and reporters to fill you in on all of the action. See? She like, SO does not care that nobody cares. Like, she’s just all sorry for like YOU people who enjoyed it, but what-EV-ERRR! There are other bloggers doing it. You’ll have to read their inferior coverage, because nobody was forward thinking enough to pay Mary for her innovative “setup a webcam and talk about the clothes” platform. Not that she cares. Never been happier!
