Internets Jessica Quirk Like a personal style comet, Jessica Quirk has basically come full circle. Not only has she gone back to her original hipster bob with bangs, she is now just repeating outfits: One of the reasons I’m a vintage lover is because when you’re neither here nor there you’re never in or out. Let me explain- I think it’s possible to stylishly pull off a vintage dress and not look out of style, because you’re not trying to be in. Case in point – I wore this dress in 2009 and felt like a million bucks and I feel equally awesome now in almost the exact same outfit. It’s true – she wore pretty much the exact same cheap looking brown accessories with this dress back in the good ole days of ’09. Her hair and closet aren’t the only things that have come full circle. Seems that even back then Messica had to fight against her natural inclination to half assing: I could easily stay in pajamas all day and put in no effort, but what’s the fun in that? Boyfriend brought over lunch so I got dolled up in this sweet 80s cream dress. Then we went to pick out a printer and run other errands. Luckily I dodged raindrops as I forgot my umbrella. A sweet outfit for a sweet day. I’m not sure what constitutes “effort” for Messica anymore, folks. I don’t think Messica ever knew. Jessica Quirk, empress of awesome, declared war so last year with her free t-shirt today. Her brave and lonely stance as the first person to ever urge this planet of barbarians to “imagine peace” is certain to fall on deaf ears, as everyone else alive like, TOTALLY LOVES WAR, but she will continue to use fashion for peace, suckers! A busy day of lunch with her “beau” (Neckbeard Quirk, maybe you’ve heard she’s married?) and playing with markers was thankfully ended with a well-earned relaxing cocktail: Green tea and cardamom gin cocktail. @quirk is a mix master!! 4 minutes ago After fighting war with such vigour, Messica deserves to kick back with a drink! Cheers to you, Churchill of Scarving.
Jessica Quirk, tall, joins the ranks of the awesome. Today’s awesome outfit post is awesome. How do we know this? Messica tells us so! There are so many awesome things going on in this post, I’m not sure where to start! First off – there’s the St. James sweater that was sent to me by the lovely folks at Tails and the Unexpected. I first got in touch with them after I posting my Breton stripe fashion facts and I’m so pumped to be wearing the real deal, made in French BINIC sweater. Last time I wore a St. James top, I felt like I was conjuring Jackie O and this time I feel like this sweater could be passed down through generations… from your French grandpa – to you – to your little French bebes. It just feels like it has history…But the true star of the look is my brand new DIY’d tumblr bag! Is she serious with this bag? She might as well have used iron on letters to spell out “YOOHOOOO! TUMMMMBLR! Remember me? I’m your little blog star! I made this, so be sure to all reblog the ish out of me, because I need new followers!” Anyway, I fail to see the “so many awesome things” in this post. It’s her usual combo of target and c/o crap, with a 3rd grade craft project thrown in. Not impressed. Try again! Jessica Quirk, size 4 xs can fit in children’s clothes, is being the brave advocate of comfort and acceptance today, and informing us that she knows she LOOK GOOOOOD and will wear an elastic waist if she wants: As I’m editing these photos, I keep thinking to myself “someone is going to tell me this isn’t a very flattering shirt” to which I answer (in my head) – “yes, you’re right! it’s a men’s shirt, it’s over sized and in combination with the elastic waist you cannot see – it’s holea comfortable.” Then I skip to my next internal question to myself which is “why do I have to dress to look thin flattering everyday?” I know what I look like underneath my clothes! And like 99.5% of women in the world, there’s just times when I don’t feel my most slender and I just want to wear what I want to wear! So instead of posting just “flattering” photos, I’m just posting what this outfit looks like. And while I do believe that wearing clothing to accentuate and highlight your assets is a great method to getting dressed, I still think there’s a place to just wear things that don’t make you look thinner than you are once and a while, even if you are a fashion blogger. Considering the fact that there is no one more enamoured of themselves than Jessica Quirk I don’t think she needed to give us this whole novel about self-love. Honey we know you love yourself. And we know you’re thin under your “every day is laundry day” outfits. And no, most women don’t spend their entire day taking pics of themselves and fretting over how to make their hips smaller and their legs longer (maybe 20 minutes, tops, on a schlub day). Basically this whole post sounds like a big “f you” to anyone who is saying she’s being lazy and mediocre lately. Even setting aside the snark I could release on her ‘if a fashion blogger wears sweatpants in the forest it’s still fashion’ stance up there, I could spend 30 minutes with a red pen correcting her Crapty writing. There was seemingly no point to this post other than “HEY HATORZ F YOU I DRESS FOR ME AND PS IM SKINNY SUCKERS”. At least she’s clipping those bangs out of her face. Jessica Quirk, trying to be a granny, is now dressing like one. She spent the weekend making herself these red leisure pants, quite the fetching statement at the retirement village scrabble game. While her grandchildren were very proud that Meemaw is finally back to making her own clothes, they wondered why she felt the need to remind them that she is, in fact, skinny: One side note – pattern sizes are drastically different from store sizes. Always make sure to read the measurements before you cut your pattern. I’m a 12 in patterns/4 in store pants. I guess she was afraid they forgot, since they don’t visit old Gram-Gram anymore. Not to worry – she’s keeping busy. She has a big date night planned with her handsome (3rd) husband of 45 minutes, Gerald. Suckers!
After being taken down about 2099999 pegs by a bunch of teenage girls at Fashion Week, Jessica Quirk learned absolutely nothing: Today I was really craving a comfort day – just a jeans and sweatshirt kind of outfit. And as you can see, I’m continuing my obsession with all things striped. What can I say? I just love stripes. I also love pairing them with long, dark navy wide leg jeans (so nautical!) The hot pink scarf was something I spied from across the street on my last trip to NYC and for only $5, I thought it would be a fun pop of color for at least one outfit. I’ve been wearing it behind the scenes (in all those unphotographed outfits) ever since. Wow, sweatshirt and jeans! Really tearing it up in a bold new direction, aren’t we? Messica, this is the outfit you put on AFTER you photograph your daily outfit. It’s becoming more and more obvious that “SQUEE I just wanted to feel COZY” is code for “too lazy to do my ‘job’! kiss my ass, readers!” All winter long it has been lazy ass sweater and pants after lazy ass sweatshirt and jeans after lazy ass sweater and pants. Just because you put a scarf on it doesn’t make it ‘style’. It makes it ‘ugh I don’t wanna go to class today’. If you don’t want to put in the effort anymore, fine, go down to MediTemps and get yourself a receptionist job. But ffs, pick up the ball or get off the playground already. And finally, an aside for those of you who don’t live in New York – don’t be impressed with her shopping skills. Those scarf/hat/mittens/sunglasses tables are on every dang corner everywhere on the island, and the scarves are ALWAYS 5 dollars. That’s why every woman in New York has about 50 of them. Usually in different colours, not just a bunch of hot pink ones. (Seriously what is that, her 4th hot pink scarf?)
